First things first:

Nutrition
If you want to see great results, you have to focus on your nutrition as much as the workouts. I will be following the Combat recommended macros and calories for the program. Nutrition plays a key role in how you will reach your goals and attain the new and better you! Use the Nutrition guid that came with your program, for optimal results. Beachbody has put a lot of resources into these plans to optimize your results. Over time you will learn new eating habits that you can carry with you for the rest of your life.

Shakeology is a great way to meet many of your nutritional needs! As a meal or a snack it fuels your body with everything it needs in order to Stay With The Fight, everyday!

Track your progress
Where are you now? Where do you want to be? Have Goals!

Nothing is more important or motivating than to see where you started and how you are progressing along the way! It is so CRUCIAL that you do the following BEFORE you begin:

Take your Measurements
Take your before & after pictures

Motivation
Nothing is more important than motivation. Times will get tough and there are going to be days that you feel like you cannot get up or you feel too tired at night to workout. This is where your Coach and this thread help out. By joining this thread you will find like minded people that will push you and look for help from you to be pushed. You are doing either a 63 or 90 day program and it helps to have not just your Coach in your corner but a whole team ready to cheer you on and waiting for you to cheer them on.

Workouts
WARNING: The first few weeks are rough, but after you make it through them things get much better.

Too many people give up during the first few weeks because they think it is to tough. Everyone that has done any of these programs has had moments of doubt. Just KEEP PUSHING PLAY.

Pre-Workout
All the workouts are intense! You need the right fuel to “Bring It!” Your pre-workout meal actually begins the day before. So again, a solid nutrition plan is vital. A pre-workout meal about an hour before is important. Be warned: if you ENGAGE in a cardio workout too close to the pre-workout meal you may lose it.

If you workout first thing in the morning like myself, I advise a small snack (I like a cup of black coffee and 1/2 a banana).

Post-Workout
Recovery: After an intense P90X workout, it is vital to recover the right way. By adding a Recovery Drink immediately after your workout, you will significantly decrease the amount of soreness you will experience while your body recovers. Intense exercise will burn off glycogen stores in the muscles which leaves the body without its primary source of energy. You need to replace these glycogen stores immediately with a 4:1 ratio of quality, fast acting carbs and quality protein. Plus low blood sugar levels in the brain will lead to fatigue, irritability, lack of concentration, depression, etc.

The P90X Recovery Drink will replenish your muscles with glycogen, you will not only avoid muscle breakdown, but you will promote muscle growth and keep your energy levels up. I have used the recovery drink from day one and I highly recommend it.

Come to the thread every day and post your daily accountability and questions and before you know it you will be at 20, then 40 and finally 63 days.

This thread is a great way to meet like minded, motivated people that are going through exactly what you are going through. They will help you stay accountable and motivated, and you will keep them accountable and motivated! Everyone comes from different backgrounds and will be able to share tips and information that has helped them and could help you as well.

A Little about my journey: September 11, 2011, the 10th anniversary, I found myself eating at a restaurant, and making a pig of myself. We were invited to a local eatery to have a meal, honoring those of us in the fire service. Upon returning to my station, I unbuttoned my top button to relieve the pressure of my tight uniform pants and felt so ashamed that I paid tribute to my fallen comrades by eating myself sick. It was at that moment I decided to make a drastic change in my life.

I dropped some weight through better eating, some exercise, and in December I decided to Start and complete P90X2. By March 28 of 2012, that mission was accomplished. I then began a round of P90X/Insanity, and have since completed that hybrid twice.

To date I have lost 57 pounds and shed 67% of my body fat, gotten off blood pressure and cholesterol medication, and have never looked back.

I am geared toward successful fitness, and I dedicate my time to bringing others along for the ride.

Results start here, join us to get in the best shape of your life!

Keep it Real & Stay With The Fight!

Accountability:
Power HIIT. Since this is not one of my favorite workouts, I decided doing it once in a week was enough. So, Pure Cardio was the replacement!! Holy bleep, I forgot how great that workout is!!!

To all the new folks checking out the thread...

Jump on in!!! You have found one of the best Coaches in all of Team Beachbody. Rob (CaptPoppy) cares more about your success than you can ever imagine. I have been with Rob since last March. I've completed 3 complete rounds of P90x (all doubles), a round of Insanity and now a third of the way through Combat and another round of X. I can honestly say that I would not be where I am today without Rob's support and the support of the amazing team that he has cultivated.

This is a very sociable and supportive group. You will feel right at home!

Busy the past few days. Yoga X2 last night and I'm finally not hating it so much anymore.Finishing up another round of P90X and X+ hybrid in a couple of weeks.

Frank- Back and legs tomorrow ........and 60 pushups. How are those new Civic's Frank?

Rob- I didn't realize how much weight you lost ! See what happens when you get away from the table sports.

Scott- I don't know how you do those doubles. I am usually wiped out after one workout.

Jill- You got me wantin Combat.

Jim Combat is the funnest program I've done. Not the hardest but a lot of fun... grrrrrrr!

Jim, No double today, just Pure Cardio. I must say, it is much easier to do a P90x/Combat double than P90x/Insanity. Combat is a great workout but definitely low impact. My back hasn't felt nearly as bad this month as it did when I was doing Insanity.
