P90X Day 1 :  Chest and Back

Today is day 1 of P90X with chest & back. I bet many are wondering why I am not doing Les Mills Combat. Well, it's not because I didn't like it, because I did. I just decided that I would join the team in doing the P90X challenge. There are six people on the team either starting or currently doing the program right now. I felt so motivated by this that I decided to start with them too!  If anyone hasn't done a challenge group yet you should!  The group support and motivation is so inspiring! We cheer each other on and it is just easier to push play knowing you are not only going to let yourself down,  but everyone in the group too! If you want to join us click here. P90X Chest & Back


It's been almost a year since I've done the chest and back workout. I wasn't used to doing a full 60 minute workout plus the AB ripper X either. I pushed through and completed reverse grip, wide, close grip pullups. I tried to do between 8 to 10 with the pull up bar. I can only do two real pull ups and then used the chair to aid me for the rest. I also did diamond, wide, military and dive bombers. for push ups. I did 20 of each set of these. We also did a bit of weight lifting doing lawnmowers too.
After the workout I then completed the Ab Ripper X which always gets me winded! I am spent and burned 460 calories today. I drank my P90X Results and Recovery drink immediately after the workout and then drank Chocolate Shakeology with almond milk for breakfast. Bring it today!

P90X Day 2:  Plyometrics

P90X Day 2:  Plyometrics


Today was the mother of all P90X workouts, Plyometrics!  Wow!  I did the P90X Lean program my first time which didn't have the Plyometric workout in it.  This is the mother of all workouts!  This is one hour of intense jumping.  Some of the moves that were done today consisted of :

  •  switch kicks

  • squats

  • airborne heismans

  • doubles heismans

  • circle run

  • squat reach jumps

  • squat switch pick ups

  • jump knee tuck

  • leapfrog squats

  • twist combo

  • rock star hops

  • squat jacks

  • military march

  • lunge squat 180 jump switch

  • lateral leap-frog squats

  • monster truck tires


After two sets of each of these moves plus the bonus round I was spent!!  But I had to push on to finish Ab Ripper X.  This wasn't too bad and went by really quickly.  I still have a hard time keep up with the group for all 25 of each exercise though.  I managed to burn 520 calories today.  I am now drinking my P90X Results and Recovery drink, followed by a chocolate Shakeology with almond milk for breakfast today.   Do your best and forget the rest!

Today is day 3 of P90X with Shoulders and Arms. Here are some of the exercises I performed today with the amount of repetitions I performed and the weights I used. We did two rounds of the exercises today along with some others I didn't list here:

On arm full supination curls 15 reps 7.5 lbs

biceps curls 15 reps 10 lbs

tricep extensions 15 reps 7.5 lbs

chair dips 2o

overhead press 15 reps 7.5 lbs

upright rows 7.5 lbs 15 reps

static arm curls. 10 lbs 15 reps

flip grip twist kickbacks 7.5 lbs 13 reps 5 lbs 15 reps

upright rows 7.5 lbs 15 reps

seated shoulder flys 5 lbs 15 reps

crouching Cohen curls 7.5 lbs 15 reps

Overhead tricep extensions 7.5 lbs 15 reps 10 lbs. 17 reps

static arm shoulder fly 5 lbs 16 reps

Congdon curls 7.5 lbs 15 reps

Side-Tri-Rise 16 reps

I loved this workout today! I also completed Ab Ripper X immediately after the shoulders & arms workout. I managed to burn 501 calories today. I was a bit bummed because I ran out of Energy and Endurance formula today. I can't wait for my order to arrive! I am drinking my P90X Results and Recovery drink now. What a great burn today and I am impressed with my weight usage and the progress I will see in 90 days! Bring it!

P90X Yoga X

Today I completed Day 4 of P90X with Yoga X. This workout is long and tough! In my first round of P90X I hated Yoga!! After completing Insanity, Insanity Asylum, Turbofire and Chalean Extreme I am obviously in great shape for a second crack at this workout! It is still hard and a great calories burn. But I found in this round that my muscles weren't really sore like in the last one. I was actually getting a great stretch from this. I had better flexibility and strength to get through it. After the workout I had me P90X Results and Recovery formula. Now I will be having Chocolate Shakeology with almond milk for a snack. If you hate yoga I still recommend doing this workout. The stretch is exactly what you need after the last 3 days of weight lifting and cardio. Just do what you can and try to do a little more every time you do this workout! You can do it! Here is a video of some of my Yoga workout today!

P90X Day 5: Legs & Back

Day 5 P90X with legs and back and ARX complete! I forgot about all the pull ups in this routine as the name legs and back should explain that! I love this workout, especially the calf raises as I have "dinky" calves myself! I smashed the ab ripper today too doing the extra mason twists at the end with the group! I managed to burn 645 calories today and am drinking my Results and Recovery drink now! Bring it everyone!!

P90X Day 6: Kenpo X

Today is Day 6 of P90X with my all time favorite workout, Kenpo X. I love the martial arts moves in this workout. It goes by quick and has you drenched in sweat at the end of it. This workout consists of a ton of punches, kicks and of course jumps. I liked this workout so much that when the Les Mills Combat workout came out I had to pre-order it in December. I have since completed 12 days of Les Mills Combat workouts and it is an awesome mixed martial arts workout too! Like Kenpo X too? You would love Les Mills Combat then! I had a great workout today and drank my P90X Results and Recovery drink right after my workout. Now I am jumping in the shower and getting ready for work! P90X Day 8

Today I started week 2 of P90X with Chest and Back followed by Ab Ripper X. I am still a bit sore in my triceps and upper back from the pull ups in the legs and back routine. During my first round of P90X I didn't do the actual pull ups with the bar. I used the bands with a door attachment kit that I used when sitting. That actual pull up itself is tough right now. I can do two with good form and then use the chair to help with the rest. I am looking forward to getting to do at least 5 full pull ups by the end of P90X. Well I started my day loading up on Energy and Endurance for my workout. Day 8 of P90X complete for today with chest and back. I was feeling sluggish this morning and was not really feeling this workout. But I pushed play and made some great strides today! I was able to do 20 push ups for all the push up exercises except diamond, dive bombers and decline push ups in which I did 15. I also increased one rep on all the pull up moves to 9. I even increased my weights for the flys, heavy pants and lawn mowers to 10 lbs at 15 reps. Ab ripper X will be completed while my son naps later. So far I burned 409 lbs on the Chest and Back workout for today. I am now drinking my results and recovery drink followed by a blueberry protein smoothie for a snack! Bring it today!!

I was able to increase my weights to 10 lbs on all the biceps and press exercises. I also increased my reps by one on the side-Tri-rise at the end. I am drinking my Results and Recovery drink now. Once I am done with this post I am jumping in the shower and going to work. For breakfast I am going to have Chocolate Shakeology with almond milk. Go get your workout today everyone!
