Hi Jenny!

I am getting ready to start PUMP around February 10. I am just finishing up a 60 day challenge with Ten-Minute Trainer and I am excited about getting started with PUMP. I am training for a Sprint Triathlon in July and will be using PUMP as my resistance training in addition to the swim/bike/run. I am just starting out as a Team BeachBody coach and I would love to get a group together!

Awesome Theresa! Let's do it! Do you have a group in place that I could join, or do you want to merge with me here? It doesn't matter to me either way. My plan is to actually start the first Monday in February (the 4th). I just want to belong to an accountability group for support.

I've always wanted to to a Triathlon, but I don't think I'm in good enough shape at this point to give it a go. Do you normally compete, or is this your first time?

I don't have a group yet for Pump specifically. I actually just signed up as a coach today and ordered my challenge pack with Les Mills Pump. I am super excited to get started. Looks like I will be about a week behind you. We can go ahead and start a group on here if you want.

I haven't done a triathlon before. I ran my first 5K last May and wanted more of a challenge. But I don't like running that much and didn't really want to do a half marathon where I would be running for over 2 hours. My dad and sister just did their 2nd sprint tri in September and suggested I try that. A sprint tri is 0.5 miles swim, 12 miles bike and 3.1 miles running. I started "training" in September by just getting started with each activity. Then in December I added Ten-Minute Trainer which has been great. I am planning to start an official triathlon training program in February (since I'll have 5 months to the race by then) and I am going to do Pump along with it as resistance training is suggested especially to improve your arm strength for swimming. I am a little nervous but I figure if my dad can do it then I can too. emoticon

Id love to join up with you! I actually started LMP yesterday 1/29/13. I know who starts a workout in the middle of the week. I had actually joined up with a couple gals I have met over the years with BB with a Facebook group doing Turbo Fire. We started on January 1. Back in September I had back surgery to fix a hurniated disk...so TF was a little to much twisting for me. And personally I cant get into it. So after 2 weeks I went back to my faithful program of Power 90. Yet this wasnt motivating me...Im already bored. I had bought LMP at the begining of last summer...well July 4th is when I pinched the nerve in my back. So from July to January I have done nothing. First 3 months to stand or walk I would about die. Then after surgery I had to be real careful not to rehurniate the disk. Got the all clear to start normal activity again after the first of the year. So hear I am...50 lbs heavier than what I was 7 months ago. Last Fall I lost just over 30 lbs with Power 90. Im started in January 20 lbs heavier than I have ever been. As of today I have lost 10.3 lbs since the 1st. So that is my story!! LOL! I am ready to do this!!!

Hi Jenny.

Count me in. I'm starting LMP on 2/3 and can't wait! It's my first time and I'm very out of shape (in spite of being a normal weight) and am just hoping to get through it! The squats and lunges are definitely going to be challenging but so worth it!

Theresa, Kasey, Cheryl... welcome!! I'm excited to have 'workout buddies' here!

Theresa - you mentioned starting an "official training program" for your triathlon. Curious to know what that entails. I may want to pick your brain at some point to learn all the particulars of what's involved in training for such an event. I kind of had an "ah-ha" moment after I posted my last comment about being "too out of shape".. this due to my age as well as the fact I need to drop some weight. In my own head I think I was writing myself off as if attempting something of that magnitude was not within my scope of ability any more. Then I got to thinking that there are older athletes doing exactly the same thing and that nothing is impossible if one can put their mind to it. So I'm rethinking the possibility again. We can accomplish anything if we put our minds to it!

Kasey - Ouch on the back surgery!! You are so brave to do this after having been through back surgery and I admire your tenacity girl! Congrats on the 10 pound weight loss too! Are you following a particular diet plan, or just eating healthy?

Cheryl - I'm with you on the "out of shape" part and also have a wee bit of arthritis in my knees, so I'm having to watch the lunges and the squats as well. But I figure there is always some sort of modification that can be applied to any of these routines. I have a friend who has back and knee issues and she made it through P90X and Insanity! She had to make allot of modifications, but it didn't stop her.

With all this great inspiration we have an unbeatable group right here!

What do you all say we try to connect at least once a day beginning February 1st? We can chat about our goals, ups, downs, post questions and responses... whatever. Just so we stay connected. Would you all rather that we post here on this thread? Or would you rather I create a private group on Facebook? I'm up for either.

Lastly, I would love to know a bit more about each of you - only whatever you're comfortable sharing of course.

Actually the back surgery was the easy part...the Ouch was the 3 months before I decided to have the surgery. LOL!

As far as diet I log everything I eat in Myfitnesspal.com. Im eating a lot of lean proteins. Im not a huge veggie fan but I do like salads. So I try to get my veggies from that. Just basically staying low calorie. Im not a fish eater so I stick to chicken, pork or beef. Im single with no kids so on Sundays I usually grill up what meats I want for the week. Then keep my frig full of the good stuff.

I have never been one to follow the food plan with the programs. There are so many foods I have never even heard of and no clue where to find them. I live in a rual area in south central Nebraska. So what the local grocery stores have is what I get.

As far as a group in here or Facebook...I game for either. Both ways work for me. emoticon

I am starting LMP on 2/1 and would love to join your group. I recently lost 75 pounds but gained back 15 and am looking to get rid of that 15 and maybe a few more extra and tone up a bit. This is my first beachbody program and I can't wait to get started.

Absolutely! I would be happy to chat about the tri training sometime. Not sure I am an expert yet as I am just getting started but I have done a bit of research.

Another option is we could make a WOWY workout group on here. It might be an easier place to keep up with one another so we don't get lost on the message board. If we want to go that route I would be happy to create one.

I am excited about having workout buddies with this!

That would be great Theresa! I didn't know we could create our own WOWY groups here. Will have to check that out. If you know how and want to set it up.go for it!! Or I could play around with it later and try to figure it out.

Same here!!

Even though I'm not officially starting until Monday, this is still February 1st today... So I'm checking in anyway. I'm going to spend the weekend prepping food for the next week and reviewing the LMP materials and reviewing the first video tape so that I'm ready to jump in on Monday morning. The hard part will be getting to bed early enough so that I have time in the morning to do my workout before heading out the door. I find that if I don't exercise first in the morning, I tend to not get to it during the day due to all the activities I'm engaged in.

I'm also going to take my measurements, weight and get a before picture. I think it's a great idea to utilize the WOWY Super Gym too, so I'm going to set that up as well.

How are each of you preparing for your February challenge?
