Hi everyone! Been doing insanity now for three weeks and I'm on my third rest day - three weeks in! Week 4 coming up! I'm pretty stoked!
I've been really having to dig deep doing insanity this past week. Pulled my left wrist in krav maga class, got my nose broken, and my instructor there works our affes off cardio wise (three days a week) - no krav today on a rest day - which is awesome!
I'm a tad sore needless to say - which is good.
I'll be leaving for the US Army this summer for basic training, medic school and airborne/jump school. I'm really worried about not being able to score a 300 on my APFT which is 71 push-ups, 78 locked behind the head sit-ups, and a 2 mile run in under 13:00 minutes.
Out of curiosity - could I add a core abdominal routine from p90x or body beast 1 extra day per week right now? If so, during which routine(s)? Should I just substitute sit-up and push-up sets as a secondary workout?
My sit-ups are a little weak right now - so thinking I may need some extra strength training there. Only able to hit 41 to 50 sit ups in 1 minute (depending on how hard I've hammered myself in workouts that day). I'm also looking for some additional bicep strength (I'm doing pull-ups whenever I come in or out of the house right now)
My muscle groups are nearly gassed at the end of one minute rocking them out doing push ups and sit ups. (I still have another minute to go).
Any advice? I'm wondering if I should switch to a
p90x/insanity hybrid right now as opposed to later... Any routine advice for maximizing push-ups and sit ups? Or just do AbRipper-X 13 days a week?

I need the cardio and endurance obviously for the years to come, but I'd love to maximize muscle strength/endurance as well - before I ship out!
Thanks for your help everyone!
