Hi All!
So I am just starting INSANITY. I borrowed the DVD from my sister, its the Pylometric Cardio one. I am 165 lbs and 5'7 so a bit overweight. IM really looking to get into shape and lose weight. If i become more built before the weight drops ill be happy. How many times a week is should I be doing this DVD before I see results.
Also, is it normal to have to stop A MILLION times during the DVD? I mean I can finally get through the warm up for the most part without stopping.. but some of the circuits I can absolutely just not do yet. Did anyone else have this problem?!

Hi!

First thing I want to say is congrats in committing to Insanity! It is definitely rough, but it is 1000% worth it!! Now do you have just the 1 Dvd? Because that's where we will have to really look into the scheduling! I would say if it's just the 1 then do it minimum 3-4 days a week to really challenge your body!

As far as the stopping, don't worry about how many times you do it! One of the things that really have stuck with me when it comes to effort is what Shaun T says during the Insanity infomercial! The only number that matter is 100, as in 100% if you give it your absolute all and absolutely push your body then you are doing it right! Remember it's not about keeping up with the people on the dvd's, it's about making sure your form is great and doing what YOU are capable of doing!

Keep up the awesome work!

Daniel C.

Wow, you are up as early as me. I'm a Pharmacist with 3 little ones, and if I don't get up early, I don't get the workout in. If you had the entire Insanity program, it would provide you with a specific schedule of workouts. The Plyometric ones aren't to be done too often. My opinion would be at most every other day, if not maybe 2 days a week. But, if you want to lose weight, you need to make sure you are eating clean, and adding other cardio on other days. If it's super hard (totally normal), you may experience such soreness on the off days that you don't want to exercise.. try and do something (walking) light on the other days and stretch out your muscles. Eventually the soreness will go away. It's a great program, but you can get injured, so be careful. Good luck.

Hi!

Yes, it is perfectly normal to have to stop a lot during these workouts, they are tough going, so don't worry about that and keep working as hard as you personally can, you aren't competing with the people on the screen. The results will then follow for you.

If you are able to get all the way through the warm up without a break already, I reckon you are doing pretty well - it took me about 3 weeks on the full schedule before I could manage that!

Best of luck with your journey emoticon
