Wow, that wasn't THAT hard... 1st Round Down!
It definitely takes a level of commitment, but what you get out of the program far exceeds what you have to put in, in my humble opinion. I had been following a fairly regular 3-4 day per week anaerobic/cardio workout schedule for years and eating fairly healthy with the exception of a couple of "cheat days" on the weekends; however, I did not like the shape I had taken on. Granted, my workouts had become very routine and, honestly, somewhat lazy but, still, I felt I was staying pretty active. So, going in to this program, I was a little skeptical. Well, my skepticism is gone...

Me and my fiance' did the program together and, on the day my after photos were taken, it had probably been more like P86X... We missed a couple of days due to injuries and illness. Also, our diet didn't change that much from before, we just stopped having cheat days. We definitely didn't follow the diet program to a T, but rather used it as a loose frame of reference, eating only lean meat, going light on oils (olive, sesame and chili only) and keeping carbs at a relative minimum. The best part of the eating portion is that we have now mastered making outstanding tasting healthy meals, even burgers! It's great and there's absolutely no reason to go back to eating otherwise. As an additional note, we did have a couple (2-3) cheat days during the program where we controlled our portions but shared a normal pizza, for example. And, not that I'm suggesting consuming alcoholic beverages, but my fiance' and I enjoy a drink or two with dinner on most nights and, by making the right choices (wine, microbrews, cocktails without sugary mixers) we were able to continue enjoying our libations in moderation throughout the program.

In any case, my point is, to those considering this but in fear of some kind of massive life change; get over it - It isn't that hard and the changes speak for themselves... I'm a tiny bit under 6'0" and weighed 195lbs when starting this program. After the first 90 days, I lost no muscle but did lose 20lbs of fat which consisted of over 5" around my waist and 3" around my hips. In summary, just get it started and don't give up!

On to P90X Plus!
