About a year ago I started P90X. I finished it and then completed another round. I then moved on to P90X2 a few months back and finished that as well. Needless to say, I felt great! However, like a few others I know, I took a few weeks off due to travel and family for the holidays. 3-4 weeks ago I started P90X2 again for another round, but for the past 3-4 weeks I've been having a difficult time keeping my energy level up. I haven't made any major changes to my diet and the only big difference I can think of is the few weeks I took off from workouts for the holidays.
My past 3-4 weeks have unfolded as follows...
I try to do my workouts after work when I get home. However, when I get home I'm incredibly tired and I struggle to find the energy to do the workouts. I get through the workouts, but I don't feel as energized and as strong as I did when I finished P90X2 the first time. The following guesses are longshots, but could my energy level for this round of P90X2 be related to things like sunlight and temperature? I only ask because those are the only differences I see between now and the time before the holidays.
So what I'm saying is that I did 3 rounds of P90X/X2 (started in February of 2012). Most of that time I worked out when the sun was out and in mild to warm weather (I live in Chicago). I took a few weeks off from workouts for the holidays and I started a 4th round of P90X(2) early this year (2013). Maybe taking a few weeks off and starting another round in a "different" setting made me crash? Just a thought.
Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated!
