Let me introduce myself, my name is Mike or CoachRadRazor. I had never thought I would be doing this for one and a half years but since it has had such a revolutionary impact on my life, I am never going to quit! I have 3 rounds of P90X, 1 round of Insanity and 1 round of P90X2 under my belt and am still wanting to do more! Those programs have helped me drop 72 pounds so far! It has increased my social confidence, and massively improved my happiness. I now feel better physically but my mentality has rocketed into positivity that knows no boundaries. Now I am doing my 1st round of Les Mills COMBAT and looking to increase my goals and reach my full potential. I invite you to join towards the adventure of a life time into health, fitness and the fullest potential you can achieve!!

Let me give a quick insight as to what Les Mills Combat is about.

Les Mills Combat is 60 day workout program to help get you get absolutely ripped and put you in the best shape of your life! Each routine is different in their own respects but they are designed to target specific areas of your body while giving you some calorie killing cardio. There are multiple variants of each move PLUS the ability to modify to drop the impact but keeping the intensity. Combat also has a little bit of weight training! Moves are simple but doing them in HIIT High Intensity Interval Training helps push you to the limits while build some lean muscle! All you have to do is stay committed and you are golden. What do I mean by stay committed? I am talking about giving 100% each workout and 100% to the nutrition portion as well. Working your tooshie off is only a quarter of the battle. The remainder is in the kitchen. If you want to get absolutely cut, nutrition is key!

-One extra thing I do is Take Notes. You are probably wondering why. Well, let me explain! emoticon I write down things I need to work on the next time I push play. If I need to work on my form with kicks, I'll note it. Same with punches and especially when I use weights. Tony Horton hit's it on the head "How can you improve when you don't know what you did." So, that is why I take notes! I recommend you do the same!

-If you are using this thread for accountability for another routine, still Write It Down! Here are all the WORKOUT WORKSHEETS for every program! Keep them and a pencil in your exercise area. Keep track of how many reps you did along with what weight/band you used. It will help remind you what was done prior so you can set new goals. I put little notes by the side of exercises like; “+” add weight “-“ drop weight “FORM” to improve form etc. for next time. Remember, you do not have to limit writing things down to just Resistance Training. You can do it for your Cardio Routines too!

Equipment:
-Dumbbells or Curlbar w/ weights – Both are used in Combat but not much. They are used to mimic a dead lift and to do shoulder presses. You can even use the curlbar weights themselves if the bar is too much weight. Though Resistance Bands and not mentioned, you should be able to use them as well. You would need to practice using them before applying it to the workouts. If you do not have weights, I have used these items in the past to get me by (please note you must be EXTREMELY CAREFUL using these items!): cinder blocks with holes punched in them for grip, bricks, River Rock, SledgeHammers, and Books that are securely tied together.

-These items are not required but are recommended:
-MMA Gloves are meant to increase you punching power and add a little bit of extra weight to you arms. Weight Lifting Gloves, Hand Wraps/Tape, or Weighted Gloves can work just as well. Be careful if you are using weighted gloves. You do not want to throw your shoulder out!

Here are some tips that will help you get to your fitness and health goals.

1. Get Those Numbers! Before starting Les Mills Combat or your program of choice, you should take all the measurements of your body; thighs, biceps, waist, chest, weight, etc. Take Before Photos too! Those photos will give you a point to start gauging your results. The following link will send you to a video tutorial on how to best photograph your transformation.>>>CLICK HERE<<<

- When you hit DAY 31, DAY 61, and for some of you Day 91, repeat the photograph process. Trust me, comparing the old with the new makes for a fantastic time!

2. Nutrition is the second key to success! Nothing is more important than what you put into your body! Track and plan out your meals; this will greatly aid your journey. Seriously, if you want to lose weight or get six pack abs, you must watch what you eat. Be sure to eat properly, with the correct nutrition and calorie count you can't go wrong. For hydration, a good rule of thumb is 1 quart of water per 50 pounds of weight. If losing weight is the goal, proper nutrition and hydration will naturally melt the fat away!

-SHAKEOLOGY can play a HUGE key part in your transformation process! It has definitely aided in mine! I highly recommend it because it gives you a days worth of fruits and vegetables but also opens up meal opportunities for your day!

3. Attitude, Accountability and Support are equally crucial. Remember that it isn’t going to happen immediately, it will take time and dedication to alter and adapt to a new routine and potentially a new lifestyle. Having support and posting to a thread like this one has been proven to increase your ability to finish the routine you have started! When you PUSH PLAY, you just need to do one thing; “Do Your Best And Forget The Rest!” and "DIG DEEP' so you can Stay In The Fight!" You are the only one who knows how far you can push yourself. Staying positive is the anchor that will push you through tough times and boost you through the best.

This thread isn’t just for Les Mills Combat or graduates of Combat. It doesn’t matter which program you are using. This thread is here for YOU! Maybe you just started this fantastic adventure of health and fitness or this is your ten year anniversary or it. This thread if for people who started a month, week or a day ago, also for people who are starting today, tomorrow, this week, next week or next month. This is for people looking for advice on how to start, where to start, questioning to start or in the need to start. It is also for varying fitness levels, from marathon, triathlon, or decathlon runners to people who haven’t exercised since High School PE. This is here to help YOU and boost YOUR confidence, motivation, accountability, positivity and ultimately, YOUR RESULTS!

Good early afternoon everyone!

Oh boy my day started off with a bang!! A 60 minute bang! Today was my second run through of Combat 60 and let me tell you, I LOVED IT!!! Combat 60 is such a great routine, I see why it is so popular around the world. The music definitely amps me up, especially getting near the 20 minutes left mark. They speed up the BPM just to make sure you feel the music pulsing through you. My shoulders and upper back are nice and sore. I love that feeling!

Here is my review of the workout right after I finished it. Yep, I am wearing a beanie! emoticon

Thanks CoachMikeMJM! I appreciate the kind words! I can truly say I am jacked to help! emoticon Gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside! Mike is a good name btw! ;) I am definitely interested in your hybrid you are doing! I will have to pick your brain here soon. Though I love Power HIIT, I am still thinking of adding some lifting to my routine. I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. First I need to incorporate running back into my schedule! Monday, my 4 mile runs start again! emoticon

Good morning!!

Oh dang! Today was HIIT PLYO! All I can say is that it felt like I was HIIT by a bus! Well, my legs anyway LOL! Went deeper into my lunges and it did my quads some justice. Though my legs are pretty strong, they still turn to Jell-o! When we went into squat then pressing weights, I damn near wanted to cry lol! BUT I LOVED EVERY SECOND!!! Sigh...I am definitely excited to get my running back on track on Monday. Though I landed pretty heavily on my healing toe, it didn';t hurt as much as I exagerated it out to be. I freaked out and me freaking out caused the pain to jump hehe. Just thinking about it made the pain shoot back up my foot! No joke! Your mind is a very powerful tool! Remember that next time you have "that feeling". Is it discomfort or is it pain? We are the only ones who can answer that!

Here is my review of the workout and my "secret" confession...hehe

Good late evening and soon to be early morning! I can barely type right now haha. EVE Online 2700 fleet battle took up most of my night. Quite insane to see a time latency that takes 15 minutes for 1 in game minute to go by...So many pretty explosions! Bah I am getting off topic lol! Here is my review of the workout!

Goodnight!

Soon enough I will be done with the program and I will be faced with a tough decision, another round of Combat or Insanity.....Gah! I don't want to think about that now lol...getting me all worked up to do something LOL! Today's routine was Combat 60! I call it COMBAT FUN! I try to match Dan's enthusiasm every time. Good Tuesday Morning!!

Oh man! HIIT POWER in the books! Boy it took me down and brought me back up! I love how the squat thrust press loads the legs. I still find it amusing on how much sweat is running down my face by the end of the workout. And I am wearing a hat to soak it all up! Oh I love combat! I can definitely see a hybrid being built with P90X/2 and Combat. Guess i need to start writing one out!

What is on your schedule for today?

Woot! Today was Combat 30! YAY!! I definitely brought it and ended up uber sweaty! My shoulders do hurt a little but nothing terrible. Still haven't added running back into my routine yet. I just don't want to risk injuring my toe again. I can bend it and balance on it, kneel down and put pressure on it...but if it hits that sweet spot, I get that nice shock of pain. Nothing terrible, but enough to jolt me out of my comfort zone and jive. Especially when I am working out. I shall test the waters with running this Monday though! A mile or two, nothing severe.

Here is my review of the workout and a message to all who are struggling.

I woke up late this morning and it threw my day into a tail spin! But!! I did HIIT PLYO this morning. Was AWESOME! Crushed it as it crushed me! I loved it! After that, I decided to go running! Did about 2.3 miles. Naturally my run tracker didn't work until I got back home lol! Oh man, I am excited to start training for 5k & 10k runs again! Oh toe, how I am praying that I don't do something stupid to hurt you hehe.

Have a fantastic night all!

HI and GOOD FRIDAY MORNING!!!

Oh man I am so happy it is Friday! I just enjoy the mood that pours into the atmosphere on Fridays. People are excited to get their weekend on! I got my day started off right with COMBAT 60. It is 3 hours since I have completed the workout and I am absolutely broken. Feels FANTASTIC!! My shoulders are on fire and my calve muscles are pretty sore from yesterday's run. I used my ankle weights today and that definitely destroyed me. About half was through the routine is when the fatigue from using the ankle weights kicked in. Especially during the jump kicks. Since I made some weighted gloves, that is what is tearin my shoulders up now. I am assuming these little sandbag things weight about three quarters of a pound to one pound...I am excited and can't wait until i can fully use the 5 pounds on my arms. Will have to find a way to do that since these weight holders are massive haha.

Here is my review of the workout right after I completed the workout. I also hold a message about hydration as well.

Hope you all BRING IT! DIG DEEP! so you can Stay In The Fight!

GOOD SATURDAY MORNING ALL!!!

YAY! It is Saturday but it doesn't mean I get to take off from my workout. This morning I did Power HIIT. It HIIT me with some POWER! haha! Seriously, this routine destroys me every time. I am still using 20 pound and 15 pound dumbbells. I am also using a 30 pounder for the squats in the middle of the routine right before the body weight training. At the end, I am naturally dripping with crazy amounts of sweat. Blindness sets in because of the sweat that rolls into my eyes and my hat was drenched. Oh how I love Combat!!

This morning was suppose to be Combat 60 but instead I did HIIT Power. I switched routines due to wanting to start running again. My calve muscles are still crushing me with soreness and doing POWER and then run tomorrow would have destroyed me. I am going to run Tuesdays and Fridays instead of my original plan of Mon. Wed. Fri. to get use to running again. I am not giving up on the run, I am just modifying.

Just like usual, HIIT POWER crushed me lol. One of these days I am going to up my weight from 20s to 30s during those presses. I have a feeling it will be the next month. I AM EXCITED WOOOOooooo!!

Good Evening everyone!!

I hope you all had a fantastic day! I sure did! Finally finished my leftover stuffed sopapilla from Sadie's that I got on Friday. Cooked an egg wit hthree egg whites and put it on top. Very good! So tasty! I did pig out a bit today. I am certain it was due to lack of hydration. At least I know I am fueled for tomorrow morning's routine and run! 4 miles is calling my name and I am going to respond with extreme dedication hehe. emoticon

Here is a recap of my workout from this morning!

HAPPY THURSDAY!!!

So, I woke up late. Ate a Banana 15 minutes before pushing play. I crushed the workout! It crushed me back. Still used my weighted stuff though, I wasn't going to let a little pulled back muscle hinder me. emoticon I felt a twinge but it worked out as soon as I amped up my energy. Felt a tad bit sore there but it has diminished massively. Back pain...PSH! Tomorrow is HIIT Power and my run. Oh yeah! Hope everyone is CRUSHING it today! emoticon
