Is the portion label of P90X right? I don't think so
p90x diet phase 1 portion plan level2

Hi, i'm starting P90X but i'm in trouble whit my diet.
I'm a 6-foot, 180-pound man, (so i'm a Level2) and i need 2760 calories/day.
Whit the portion plan food at level 2, in the phase 1, i can just reach 2000 calories.
It is right?

i need
7 protein block(100cal. x 7)
1 carb (200cal)
4 vegetables(50cal x4)
3 dairy (120 x 3)
1 fats (120)
2 fruits(100 x2)
2 condiments (50 x 2)
1 double snak (200)

700+200+200+360+120+200+100+200 = 2080.

So in my food plan remains 700 calories!!! I want to bluk! what can i do??

Thx if you reply! ;)

Simple answer is that if you want to gain weight (bulk) you should use level 3, not 2. The P90X book asks you to round down to create a slight calorie deficit. However, that's for weight loss. You need to round UP. Go to Level III and enjoy!

Hey, welcome to P90X!

If your goal is to bulk and not lose weight the portion plan may not be the best plan for you. Phase 1 is fat shredder - and think of each phase as the month (it's easier - at least for my head!) Try Phase 3 -its where you'd really get to add some muscle.

If you are not trying to lose weight phase 1 is not for you.
I'd like to calculate your calorie intake for you if you'd like. You mentioned you're 6 ft 180 lb - how old are you (sorry need to ask LOL)

Diet and nutrition seem to trip many people up - it did me when I first started. Let's make sure that calorie number is right and go from there - one thing at a time.

Yes i want to bulk but that's not the level 3 or 2 the problem. The problem is that, even at level 2(which it says that i need 2700 calories), if i take the portion of foods write there, i can't reach the 2700 calories. I everyday ate 2080 calories and i don't know how to get another 700. For coach donna, i'm 25. But again, my problem is that i don't know What to ate to inceraste the number of calories. Thx for replied, you are great ;)

I'm confused now. Is your question how to find foods you can eat enough of to hit 2700 calories? Or is it about the apparent disconnect between the portion plan blocks and calories?

If you are trying to bulk up, then the advise above about using the Phase III macronutrient percentages with higher carbs (20% protein, 60% carbs, 20% fats) is perfect. You'll hit your calories easily.

Regarding the calorie thing, all I can really tell you is that the portion plan is based on averages and rounding. It seems inaccurate but it works very well for many people. If the randomness of it bothers you then I highly recommend just counting calories using an app like MyFitnessPal or by manually logging everything.
