Hi!

I'm looking for people who would like to share the experience of Asylum 2 with me.
I have done Insanity and also Asylum 1, as well as, P90x and others. I am a little afraid of Asylum 2 as it looks like a real Killer. I'd love to hear what you think of it as we go thru it together, hear what part of the workout is your challenge and together we can help each other through. You in?

I have never done the nutrition guide before, yes I did eat well, but this time I am going to follow the meal plan. What's 30 days right. After every program I've done, I always thought to myself, I wonder how much more I would have gotten out of it if I followed the meal plan, so this time I shall see. Whether you do follow the meal plan or not, I'd love to hear from you and what it is you eat to help keep your energy up through this program.

TO get my mind right, I am.

1. Doing the agility tutorial every day, as well as, some HIIT (turbofire) workouts and ab work outs from other programs. You can do whichever/whatever workout program you want, but I suggest you, AT THE VERY LEAST, DO THE aGILITY tUTORIAL WORKOUT, as he doesn't go over the moves once the program begins.

2. Going thru the nutritional guide. Making a list of what new foods I need to purchase.
3. Cleaning out my fridge
4. Starting to eat clean starting today
Fish, chicken, fruits, salads, NO SODA (although I never drink soda, but in case you do ;) )
If you can think of anything to add to this, whatever helps you get motivated before starting a new program, I'd love to hear it.

Hey, Linda- finally found your post, and I'm in! Can't wait to get started next week. I went grocery shopping today to get a jump on eating clean. While I'm not following the nutrition guide to a "T" I will be using common sense and dabbling in a Paleo-esque diet for the month of Asylum. Hoping to drop some leftover holiday weight and show off the abs I got from Insanity and Asylum last year emoticon

Linda - I wanted to post so I could find this thread more easily. I think I will do the tutorial every day the rest of the week. It should be easy on my back muscle. Then I'll throw in something else for a little more cardio. Do you remember seeing those Heisman moves in X Trainer? I just can't do them. I feel like I'm doing the polka.

Jayne~! so nice to see you here, thank you~ I know, there's so many (sometimes too many) places to post~do what you can~
I have just started to feel good about the Heisman moves, it's taken me awhile, I use to be sooo slow.
I previewed upper elite again, Jayne, after doing the Beast, you are going to be so in your element. Lots of weights. It reminded me of strength in asylum 1. I'm getting very pumped up. I use to say that Asylum gave me my definition and for sure I know it'll be the case with Asylum 2. A lot of good combinations. oh...and get your jump rope ready even if you don't plan on jumping with it and just simulate jumping because they use the jump rope in other ways.

I previewed most of the DVDs over Christmas and did X Trainer for about a week... need to do it again this weekend to prep because I've forgotten all the moves by now, and they're not so easy to get right!

I think my biggest struggle will be planning the workouts around my schedule. I sometimes work a PM, then an AM shift, so I'm beat by that second afternoon. I'll need help staying accountable, so I'm glad we've got this thread going. Hopefully some more peeps jump on board to push us through the next month emoticon

Started going thru the food plan for A2....getting my mind ready...

Katie, I also hope other people come along and chime in~ If not I'll be here and we will be doing it together~ I started the thread because then I feel responsible to the people who are also doing it, so I really do hope other people chime in~~ One thing that always gets me through is to know it's not forever, whats 30 days of the rest of your life....I just do it....Scheduling is always tough especially w/your current schedule, but I know you will find a way to work it in. You have in the past right?? Jayne is a beast~ and a dang strong woman~ ;)

Katie - women should not be intimidated by the Beast. It is good old time weight lifting. As with any program you get what you put into it. I had good results with upper body but not so much lower body. But that is my fault because I do a poor job with nutrition. I also added extra cardio because I need it. That may have caused less muscle gains. But I totally endorse the Beast for women. I think Beachbody made a mistake not marketing for both men and women.

Now for the next challenge!

1 MORE DAY, ladies! I previewed X Trainer (again) last night, and am excited/ready to make a fool of myself with all the agility drills emoticon

Jayne- I'd probably add cardio to the Beast, too. I am not that big of a lifting fan so I would burn out if I didn't shake things up.
Linda- Yes, I have made the workouts fit my irregular schedule before. My goal is always to not change things, but sometimes I switch rest days to make it work. You do what ya gotta do, right?

X Trainer was a sweat-fest! I loved it, except for those overhead presses and the leaping push ups. Upper Elite is gonna be fun tomorrow after those... Linda, if you do both in one day, you're a beast!

My first workout was great and yes I did A2 tutorial and XTrainer...
wow....
I didn't think the first part of X trainer was too bad, except my calves were kiling me...I liked the weights in Xtrainer, reminded me of Strength in Asylum 1, all the downs, ups, overheads,,,I was doing great until number 7, LOL. I did use a light weight (5 lbs) because I wasn't sure what to expect, next time I'll up to 8, still not much but hey, I want to be able to finish~ all in all a very very good workout, my hardest was the pushups in the ladder (up and down) and the hold in plank, wow. oh ya, the leaping pushups,,wow.

I'm smilin cuz I LOVE IT~~!~

I made it through X Trainer and 10 minutes of the Tutorial. I can't do the leaping pushups so I modified like the girls were doing in the video. Just side to side pushups then jumping up and leaping over for the one arm burpee. I was confused on how many I was supposed to do and it slowed me down. Next time will be better. The matrix pushups killed me. I have to do tricep pushups on my knees and I tried to hold the planks on my toes but ended up taking some breaks. I used 8s for my weights but may try 10s next time. I feel pretty good about it but there is much room for improvement. Linda - I actually was able to jump into the 3rd rung on the in and outs. Of course I had to stop and straighten out the ladder several times, but it wasn't bad. Just have to take it slow.

Since I haven't previewed upper elite I will be surprised tomorrow.

Have a good day. (The dang superbowl kept me up too late last night. Then I couldn't go to sleep. It would've been ok if there hadn't been a blackout - and if the Niners had won.)

Hey girls i just found this. I wanna join in . I started asylum 2 today as well .
My focus is really to focus , eat clean for the next month and get this done . X trainer was great this morning. The push ups gave me trouble but i am gonna work on my upper body strenth with this .
I am also gonna throw in some insanity a couple of days a week as well just to get my cardio conditioning up again .

We are more then happy to have you join us!~. Welcome. That's my focus too. I will not be adding insanity but I do play tennis so that'll help keep my cardio up. So I take it you have done insanity? All of us have too~!...

Upper Elite.........DONE

WHOA what a workout!!! so much of it I felt in my abs and I like that. Our triceps will be pronounced after this 30 days don't you think? those were tough for me.
I upped my weights to 8's but I am going to take it slow this first week.

Overall I really like this workout,,,a little of everything.

I'm really busy but I had to hop in here just to say, HOLY COW!.

My arms were shaking and they are so sore. And this is after 90 days of Body Beast! I didn't think I was going to be able to take a shower. He sure didn't leave out anything. OK, let's do some pushups, now some presses, now some tris, oh, and just for fun let's throw in some agility!

Shaun T is certifiable. But I loved it. I think I will really get back some pushup form when this is done. I had to do the one-armed assisted pushups on my knees and most of the tricep pushup were on my knees although some at the beginning were on my toes but not too deep. I can't get that little pop up on changing the hand positions, but I'm ok with that. Maybe later. I'm just so leery of doing that because my arm hurt so bad when I was trying to pop up from pushups in Game Day. On the first round of weights I used 10s but increased to 12s after that. But went back to 10s on the chest flys.

I looked at the timer at the 30 minute mark and thought that I was never going to make it to the end, but the next thing I knew there were only 7 minutes left. That burnout at the end is crazy. I didn't do well on the pyramid pushups and in-and-outs but I got a few in. My arms were shaking so much. And the last set of tricep pushups. I finished way behind them but I finished them all.

Can't wait to see what he comes up with in Power Legs. I hope I'm able to walk tomorrow night. I'll look kinda funny hobbling around trying to teach people to dance.

Hey, guys, and welcome Prynces1trini! I finally got my workout in for today. Upper Elite was no joke! Gonna feel that one tomorrow, for sure. I wasn't very sore from X Trainer, but I think I'll be glad for the break on Thursday after the upper body assault today and Power Legs tomorrow. I'm kind of nervous for that one. Vertical Plyo from Vol 1. always left my quads in knots.

Jayne - Way to go with the 12# weights! I started with 15s because the first dumbbell move was a chest press (easy to lift heavy), but immediately backed off and used 10s for the rest of the workout. I think I did 10 reps for most of the "row, then step in and out of the ladder" sequences because I was watching Shaun T's form. Next week I should be able to keep up and do all 12 now that I know the moves. The burnout is definitely crazy, but that's to be expected from Asylum haha. I finished way behind in the agility tricep dips and the last set of moving tricep push ups. Common theme = weak tri's... But not by the end of the month!
