Starting insanity tomorrow if I can find a buddy

Like others, I have tried insanity, but I cannot get passed the first week. It seems that by myself, I just don't have accountability. Would anyone like to start insanity this week or next even? Let me know... I really want to complete the program.

I did the fit test today and will do plyo tomorrow. this is my 2nd round. first one being over 2 years ago! lol... ill start with you if you want. =) i need a buddy too!

i am finishing up Les Mills Combat, and then i am going to do Insanity...i did the fast and furious workout yesterday... whoa that destroyed me...
i wont be starting insanity, not next week but the following week...
so if i can tag along...and join in later, if you dont mind that is...

let me know....

Hey Girl!

I'm starting insanity in the morning!! SO I can be your workout buddy if ya like? :-)...I'll be starting with the fit test I'll update you on my stats after I finish. This is my second time trying it first time I made it 15days so this time around I'm really determined to make it the full 60 days! My goal is to lose 10-15 lbs this time around. I have a total of 30-40lbs to lose.

Hey Mirey,

How are you?? You should defintely just start! emoticon I thought the first 2 weeks were the toughest because youre having to get in the habit of working out and prepping your food, but after those 2 weeks you start getting better at the dvds and getting into a routine.

I started an accountability group when I started insanity because, like you, I wasn't motivated and needed someone to push me when I wanted to just rest after work or sleep in. We share meal plans, recipes, motivation, progress, tips, questions, and motivational stuff to keep everyone going we also do a monthly challenge and giveaway to someone in the group that is crushing their goals. Would that help you? I know its made a world of difference for me, and its a secret group so no one ever sees your posts but members. Does that sound like somethig youd like?

Do you have any events coming up you want to look great for or any specific goals set? A group of about 10 of us are starting a 30 day support group next week too if you'd rather have a smaller group. Just let me know emoticon It's always nice to have someone doing the same workout!!

I understand how you feel. I started insanity 2 days ago. I watched the video for todays workout yesturday and got really scared for what i was about to go through.Honestly I really didnt want to do it. My body was still hurting from the fit test, but i said to myself , you went this far of ordering it, doing the fit test, might as well do the workout.You've paid for these dvd's with your hard earn money , why waste it i thought. So somewhere inside of me just put my workout gear on and I pressed play. Now dont get me wrong, im no where near in shape, but i pushed myself beyond my limit and fought through it, with alot of breaks in between. But the point im making is , i did it and glad i did. I have never sweated this hard in my life.I know its a long and hard road ahead of me, but im looking at the big picture. Where I will be in 60 days. Im a size 20 and sick of going to the store to buy clothes and the only options is old people clothes as i like to call them. Lol I hate it!! I see so many nice,pretty clothing that I would like to wear but as of right now i cant. I hate the fact that my stomach sit out like im 6 months pregnate. Everything is about to change for me and im too excited about it.I've been looking for workout buddies as well, either on here or in person to keep me motivated. Im the type of person that will quit cause it's easier to do. With the help of the groups and buddies i've incounter IM ON MY WAY. So I hope you start and stick with it as well as myself. I'll be your buddy and we can work out together on here or in person if your in vegas area. Good luck and god bless emoticon

I did it! I was very proud. i really did not want too but I read all the post and decided if they are all doing it I should too... so second day.. check!!!!! Rob: I'm glad we are on the same days....Let's keep at it and thank you so much for sharing your stories. I'm really surprised on how motivating it actually is... I'm happy I got into this beachbody site... Thank you everyone!!

YAY!!! doesn't it feel good? No one ever regrets workingout, its taking that first step that is the hardest!...I'm looking forward to our results :-) ...I did the fit test today so technically tomorrow I will start the program I guess. I felt beat after the fit test I'm definitely in for a challenge over the next 2 months! I'm up for it though I can't wait to say I did it!! I took my before pic today too. I think I'll be doing my workout tomorrow night but I may try and wake up in the morning and do it thought because it gave me a lot of energy today. Good luck tomorrow let me know how it goes.

Hey guys, I'll tag along for the ride too. I just took the fit test on Monday, the 28th, banged out Plyo yesterday and I think I'm set for Cardio resistance here in an hour or so (after I drop my kid off at preschool).

This is my 2nd round of insanity, finished it up about 1.5 years ago, and was in the best shape I'd been in since my 20s (I'm 39 now). I haven't given it all back but I'm not in the shape I was then, but better than when I first started. I'll post my fitness test results in a little bit. They are (off the top of my head) about 70% of what I did at the end of insanity a couple years ago, but about 30% higher than when I first started it (heck first time I did insanity, I could barely GET THROUGH the fitness test lol).

My goals are to lose a little bit weight and go down a few inches on the waist while toning up my chest and arms and legs

I'm on a fairly low carb diet at the moment, but I'm working some more good, healthy carbs back in now that I'm starting insanity again.

Anyway, good luck to everyone and keep pushing play!

Finished up day 3, cardio power and resistance. Was a lot harder than I remember, those belt kicks are killer, and by the end, the moving pushups just own me. Felt good though. I love a quote from the person a few up from me: "You'll never regret working out." So true, even though it's hard to remember that when you wake up in the morning emoticon

Whew, finished day 3 and boy was it difficult.

This isn't my first time with Insanity, but kind of is. I did it a few years back and felt great. But then I let myself go. Drank too much, sat on the couch too much, and suddenly I was back to where I was beforehand. I tried back in November to start up again and the Fit Test almost killed me, didn't even finish. So this time I'm going at it 100%.

Going into today my thought was, "Man I can't wait for more push ups. I'll DESTROY those!" Haha. Guess that was the male ego in me. But when it got to the tricep dips and pushups, I immediately regretted those thoughts. Today was tough, but not impossible. Lets keep it up!

Is anyone else taking Shakeology with this program? I just started on Saturday, enjoying some recipes more than others. But the Banana, Peanut Butter, and almond milk combo is my favorite thus far.

i am drinking the Greenberry and usually just mix it with whey protein and water first thing in the morning...
i save my bananas for post workout recovery snack with another protein shake...

I'm not doing shakeology, but I do have a little shake after I work out, and am doing a very low carb diet in general, so need those cals/energy.

My recipe is pretty simple and it's tasty:

1/2 cup soy milk (can use reg., my son has a dairy allergy so we keep soy around the house), 1/2 banana, 1 tbsp peanut butter, handful of blueberries. I make it in the morning, and let it chill for about an hour or two until after I work out. Wonderful stuff, gets your energy back up quick, and is quite tasty and clean.

Cardio "Recovery" in an hour or so, always one of my more difficult workouts. I remember thinking the first time I did Insanity, YEAH RECOVERY DAY THIS WILL BE EASY. LOL, nope.

Haha, I had the same thought about today's "recovery". I thought it was going to be a nice stretch, and take it easy for a day. Nope. >_>

Although it was lower in intensity, I was still difficult and enjoyable. I have yet to get through an entire workout without pressing pause or sitting out one rotation, but I'll get there. I'm enjoying the "thud" sound my shirt makes when it hits the floor thanks to it being drenched in sweat. It kind of gives me some instant satisfication for the hard work I just did
