Hi all, my name is Al Lee. I am a very active Team BeachBody Coach! I lost a total of 36 lbs and 16% body fat since October 2012 by doing P90X, Insanity and then a hybrid of both. In addition, I've lowered my cholesterol from 304 to 187. I also have gotten 6 packs for the first time in my life! emoticon I'm really liking the new lifestyle.

No matter what program you're doing, how far are you into the program, JOIN ME HERE!!

Don't do this alone!
Anyone else who are already doing either P90X and/or Insanity or other Beachbody programs, feel free to join here to hold each other ACCOUNTABLE as well as ENCOURAGING each other. emoticon

ARE YOU READY TO TAKE THE CHALLENGE, TO COMMIT TO GET FIT?

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A TEAM THAT WILL MOTIVATE YOU?

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A COACH THAT WILL BE RESPONSIVE?

If YES, THEN YOU HAVE FOUND THE RIGHT THREAD!

Here are a few tips to get you going:

Nutrition
  • If you want to see great results, you have to focus on your nutrition as much as the workouts. Nutrition plays a key role in how you will reach your goals and attain the new and better you! Be prepared by getting a solid nutrition plan in place prior to starting. You can do this week-to-week or even plan out your entire month. Over time you will learn new eating habits that you can carry with you for the rest of your life
  • Shakeology is a great way to meet all of your nutritional needs! As a meal or a snack it fuels your body with everything it needs in order to BRING IT everyday!

Track your progress
Where are you now? Where do you want to be? Have Goals!
  • Nothing is more important or motivating than to see where you started and how you are progressing along the way! It is so CRUCIAL that you do the following BEFORE you begin:
  • Take your Measurements
  • Take your before & after pictures
  • Take the fit test

I can’t tell you how many people on my previous threads told me they were so mad at themselves for not doing this before they started.

Write down everything including your reps, your weight and your food intake. Utilize the Excel Workbook to track your workout progress.

Also utilize the tools that TBB provides. Complete your profile, and track your measurements and weight online. I use MyFitnessPal online to track my food diary as well as my calories burned each day. You can add me as a buddy and we can learn and grow together.

Pre-Workout
  • These workouts are intense! The right fuel will help your body “Bring It!” with the intensity you need! If you eat a pre-workout meal, is very important to wait about an hour before you work out. Eat too soon and you could end up losing the meal instead of bringing the intensity!
  • If you workout first thing in the morning you might want to skip eating and take a pre-fuel 15 minutes prior to working out. I drink some recovery drink or E&E prior to working out. It gives me all the energy I need to complete the toughest workouts.

Post-Workout

Keep in mind the first week is exceptionally rough! Expect to be sore and tired: Do not give up! Your body will adapt quickly and in no time you will start seeing some crazy results. You may want to do a few non-P90X workouts prior to starting just to get your body & mind ready.
  • Recovery: After an intense P90X workout, it is vital to recover the right way. I cannot stress enough how important this is. By adding a recovery drink immediately after your workout, you will significantly decrease the amount of soreness you will experience while your body recovers. Intense exercise will burn off glycogen stores in the muscles which leaves the body without its primary source of energy. The longer you are in this state, the greater the chances your body will panic and may actually breakdown your existing muscle to create more glycogen—the exact opposite of what we are working for! Plus low blood sugar levels in the brain will lead to fatigue, irritability, lack of concentration, depression, etc. The P90X Recovery Drink will replenish your muscles with glycogen, you will not only avoid muscle breakdown, but you will promote muscle growth and keep your energy levels up. The P90X Recovery Drink is a great product and I highly recommend it.
  • Accountability: Post your accountability DAILY on the message board/our Facebook page! (BOOKMARK them) This is the key to staying motivated. Here is an interesting statistic I’ve noticed over the past couple of threads I’ve been in. Out of all the people who join the thread and commit to the workouts, less than 20% will complete the full 60 or 90 day program! But what I found is, of those of post every day they are 90% likely to complete the program and transform their lives.

The message boards and forums are a great way to meet others that are going through exactly what you are and it helps stay accountable and motivated! Your forum buddies will have tips and information that has helped them and could help you as well. You will be doing the same in no time!

So ready to get started? First step, post your commitment to join the team, and second, add me as a buddy and I'll give you more important information. I look forward to getting to know you and seeing the new you!

KEEP PUSHING PLAY & DIGGING DEEP!!!!!!

Just so I could get myself ready for Insanity, I pushed myself to do a double on the Plyometrics last night. I was already sweating like crazy during the first hour. Took a quick 20 minutes break and jumped back into the second round emoticon Luckily I ate some wheat sandwich with almond butter before then. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to do it. It felt great!

I'm so excited that I'm starting to see my 6 packs last night after Ab Ripper X. I added 20lbs weight to mason twists. Instead of doing 50 reps, I could only do 25 with the weight but the result was significant. I'm going to keep pushing myself and hopefully with the start of Insanity in a few days, I'll shed more fat!

Currently, my BF is 9.4%.

We started 2 days earlier. Here's my fit test from yesterday:

Power jack 49
Power knees 106
Power jumps 30
Globe jumps 6
Suicide jumps 12
Pushup jacks 25
Low plank oblique 45

Today, we nailed the Plyometric Cardio Circuit! Man it was tough!!

Superbowl or not, we're pushing forward!

Day 2 - Plyo Cardio Circuit was a killer! Good thing is my body was already conditioned to take on this challenge. emoticon

Day 3 - Power Cardio & Resistance - Loved this workout. Finally has some resistance training to work on our upper body muscles.

You obviously are deep into the Beachbody lifestyle, pretty impressive workout routines WTF - doing 2 routines of insanity?
I just finished Insanity on the 25th of Jan. Now I am doing a hybrid of Insanity and P90x. I loved how much Insanity improved my cardio stamina, but I felt I was missing out in the strength department. I did Chest and Back on Saturday, and thought "How easy is this". It wasn't until I did Plyo Circuit and was sore from the day before that I realized how this program is going to kick my butt in such a different way. I am looking forward to it.

I worked out twice on Sunday and twice today to hopefully offset Superbowl bloating.

LOL.. I did them on 2 separate days but forgot to post my accountability the day before.

What was your result from Insanity? Any weight/inches lose?

I hear ya man. I'm glad that I didn't eat any of my favorite superbowl party foods LOL.. I would have had a bunch of wings, pizza, and beeeerrrrs. I told myself that I've worked so hard to get me to where I'm now and I don't ever want to go back to my old self. Instead, I did a my day 3 of INSANITY a couple of hours prior to the kick off and ate my healthy dinner after the workout.

Completed Day 4 Cardio Recovery last night. It was a slow paced workout. Reminded me of the Yoga X in P90X. It works more on your core, balance and stretches than cardio. I added some Back and Biceps from P90X in the end. I would feel that I'm slacking if I didn't do more.

Yesterday's workout was a success! Pure Cardio was a non-stop all-out workout, except for the quick 6-minute stretching in the middle! I loved it!

I'm still sticking to my 1800 Fat Shredder Diet and have lost 24.4 lbs since the start of my Beachbody journey in October 2012.

Looking forward to the rest of it!

Day 6 completed! Whew...what a week! Personally, I burned about 650 calories for last night's 40 minutes workout.

My wife and sister in-law totally brought it and pushed themselves through the whole time. I'm so proud of them!

Looking forward to week 2! (and I'm going to do some Chest Shoulders Triceps from P90X tonight)

Yesterday's rest day was nice! We needed the quick break to recover and to be ready for the 2nd week workout starting TODAY!

I put together a quick review of INSANITY week 1 here:

Great job! There's already a cardio abs that you would do after pure cardio and you don't want to work on the abs back to back. I would say do the additional abs routine every other day.

Hope you all had a great workout yesterday. I know I did emoticon I finished Week 2 Day 5 of Insanity! It was a serious sweat inducer for sure.

It's common for our team members to have sore or even muscle pain during the first week of workout. It's nothing to be worried about and you'll get and feel much better after you pushed through the first week. Just remember to do extra stretches if you feel sore, they'll go away quick. Also drinking R&R during or within an hour after the workout will help. If you don't yet have it ordered, just eat a half granny smith apple during that one-hour anabolic window.

You should be drinking at least 10 cups of water a day. Water is our best friend so drink plenty of them.

Keep on digging deep and bringing it everyday!

Cheers,
Coach Al

Yesterday was the first time we did Cardio Abs. The second part of the ab routine was surpirsingly calm comparing to other days emoticon Yet the workout was right on the money as far as targeting the abs. We could really feel it! Way to go team!

2/15 - Rest day!

2/16 - I did Plyo Cardio Circuit for 30 minutes. Burned only about 350 calories.

2/17 - Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs. Burned about 722 calories. The "c" ab workouts are pretty tough for me since my hip flexors aren't that flexible so I couldn't keep the legs straight LOL. But still I felt the burn!
