5th Week Insanity, Feel like I'm back tracking
Hey everyone,

I'm currently in my fifth week of insanity (recovery week).

I feel like I'm back tracking because starting towards the latter end of last week it seemed there wasn't any more fat loss, and now it feels like there is more on my. My weight has more or less stayed the same for two weeks, however.

Don't get me wrong, I've hardened like a rock! And I can see great definition in 'the frame' of my abs and all over. But it seems the fat is taking it's time--or worse, making a come back!

Basically I'm looking for some reassurnace here. Anyone with experience in this program?

If you are having this weight loss plateu, it might be you are having too little calories. First check on that , when you do not eat enough at the beginning will begin to lose weight, up to a point, then you will get into "storage" mode, where your body keeps everything you eat and you might gain weight.

I agree with Alberto. I have done Insanity twice through, Asylum twice through, and a number of hybrids (I'm currently on my 16th end-to-end Beachbody program in four years). Check your calorie levels. If you're not taking in enough food your body will not add the skeletal muscle mass it needs to increase your metabolism and move fat off of your body. The only plateaus I've ever seen on Beachbody programs occurred when people were not taking in enough food to complement the activity level.

In fact it happened again to me recently. For three months I wasn't moving down in body fat percentage and when I talked it over with some trainers and nutritionists I know we decided to add an additional 600 calories to my daily intake. I added the food and dropped four pounds in four days.

Holy Crap! Just looked at my nurtrients..

Fat: 45.4
Carbs: 26.9
Protein: 27.7

Well damn. I didn't realize this.

OK, check your numbers and come back to us. You're doing the right thing by tracking your macros and total intake. It's the most important thing (especially if you're adding Shakeology which is the best nutrient shortcut ever invented as far as I'm concerned!).

You are EXACTLY where I was at at the start of my first round of Insanity (post two full rounds of P90X). Keep going!

^More accurate. Still not sure. Up carbs at this point? Half a week until MAX!

haha, even more so. I'm going into this after 1.5 rounds of p90x! But I didn't have the discipline then that I have now- missed quite a bit..

Anyway, yeah. Those macros are also with added calories.

Fat should be under 20%, add those calories to protein.
