Insanity - Feb 4 - anyone else
Showing 11 results.
After a month of planning and preparation I am starting Insanity on Monday. I have a coach and am motivated to make changes. I am going to give it my all and hope to see improvements.

Not following a meal plan, but will count calories and protein. Might allow myself up to 2,500 calories per day (6'3" 200 lbs) but would like to be closer to 2000. I make my own recovery shakes using soy milk, Trader Joes' whey powder and Ovaltein. Will try some Shakeology samples from my coach.

My goal is to lose 10 - 15 lbs, and gain some muscle. It is a war against atrophy and getting old.

Any one else starting on a similar day to "buddy" up?

I started on the 2nd. I'm 5'5'' and need to lose at least 16 pounds hopefully more. I'm swapping one day a week for a gym class so will be a bit behind you guys. Loving it so far but boy is it tough!!

I started with almost the exact same stats. 5'11" and 217 lbs. I lost 17 lbs, which all came in the second month because that's when i started following the nutrition guide. if you follow that from the start you should definitely be able to reach your goal. Good luck!

This is great that we have a few people that started the same day. I had not checked back in a while, the first few days no one had responded.

Week 1 day 1, I almost kept up with the warm up today. I have been trying to push myself and have trying to keep form. I tell myself, it won't work if I don't do it right and push.

Looking forward to hearing what others are experiencing.

Tried my first Shakeology sample today, actually keeping me full until my second "meal."

Congrats to you all that started Insanity recently. It is such an amazing program. I had some great results with it, didn't lose too many pounds (though I didn't have to) but I lost inches which was wonderful. It started me off on a great journey with Beachbody. I love it!

My advice is as follows if you are interested:

1. Don't weigh yourself, the scale is evil and won't do you good when tracking your progress. Instead you track your measurements and see how your clothes fit. Remember, muscle is more dense than fat. Go to my profile and check out my website, I have an article on there called "Muscle Does Not Weigh More Than Fat". It gives a bit more info about why you shouldn't weigh yourself.

2. Drink a lot of water, it will help you a lot. This is an intense workout so you want to remain hydrated.

3. If possible, use the P90X Results and Recovery and Shakeology or something similar. It isn't in everyone’s budget but they are both great. Talk to me about a free sample of Shakeology if you haven't tried it. I use it daily and love it. It is one of those things you just can’t get anywhere else and is worth every penny.

4. You must follow the nutrition plan as close as possible. It is a huge part of the program and will be very important to your weight loss, muscle gain, getting lean or whatever your goals are.

5. Try workout with someone or have a team of folks you can talk to on a regular basis. I have found that if you can buddy up with someone or a team of people you will have much better results. When you work with other folks who motivate and support you then you will find yourself pushing harder. I have a closed group on Facebook of folks doing P90X, Insanity, many other programs and it is unbelievable how they motivate each other and push each other. Let me know if you want to join it. It is a lot of fun and you will get more support than you imagined.

6. Don't stop. If you get tired don't hit pause. Stop, take a breath, get a drink and then hop right back in it. You will catch up.

7. Finally, remember always that you can do it. It is in your mind. Keep digging through and you will succeed. We all have.

Congrats again and if you have questions, please ask!!

Turbo - your name indicates you may be good with computers, so if you want to set up a FB page I would sign up so we can compare/commiserate.

After finishing week 2, people are telling me I look thinner. I am down 7 pounds, and one of the first places you lose weight is in your face, so that would explain it.

Having a good time, I still don't know the routines completely so it is fresh because I don't know what is next. That should last a couple more weeks, then it is into the MaxInsanity of the second month.

My fit test improved, not a lot, just a few more of each exercise, but shows that I am getting stronger and that I did not dog the first fit test to show improvement.

Ski abs still are killing me!!

How is everyone else doing?

Hey Ted...I have a group on FB already so pop me a message if you want to join us there. Lots of folks already commiserating, haha.

How are you doing so far? Getting ready for month 2? Let the good times roll!

Started week 4 - I am taking less rests, and still trying to push through the exercises. I keep in mind each day that I have to push it, each day is an opportunity to reach my goals.

Looking forward to fresh workouts, I still don't have each workout memorized so for much of them I don't remember what is coming next. I will be glad to say good bye to mountain climbers, but worried about what could replace them.
