Starting Insanity on Monday 4th Feb!!!!! Need all the help I can get peeps
Hi all,

I am about to start on Insanity from Monday. I have been thinking about this for so long now, I thought what the heck and now I am ready to start...err well I thin I am anyway!

I really hope someone can help and guide me through this... I work - had twins two yrs back and never really got rid of the weight.
I need to lose a total of around 20pounds (which is my ultimate aim).... and I an hoping the Insanity craziness can help kick start that!
I may not be able to do it all but I am sure as heck gonna try! I have spent way too long being miserable about my weight!

I plan to workout in the evenings.... can someone tell me when I should aim to eat after the workout? I am trying to lose weight... so should I just have a shake instead?

please help the newbie!!!!!

There are also other groups already formed with more people - but it is your call on what you want to do, and who you feel comfortable with. I support you any way you choose to do!

Make sure you look over the nutrition guide thoroughly. This is a marathon, not a sprint. And the battle is ultimately won in the kitchen (or on the go, in the office). This victory is the sum of a million small successes.

What time are you looking to work out at night? I would not recommend eating 2-3 hours before going to bed. Let me know a time you think you will work out. I used to work out at 10pm each night, and I would have dinner around 6:30 and allow time to digest. Now I work out at 4:55 am, and I have a protein shake right after.

Shakes are amazing in general - are you talking about shakeology? a protein shake? another home concoction?

THe most important thing about insanity is that you strive to be your best each day. If on day 1 you only complete 20% of the dvd, then on day 2 strive to complete 22% and so on. I call the people on the dvd "robots" because they've been trained to do this! Dont let them get to you. Modify the exercises if you cannot do them. I also tell my peers to work out the same muscle group in the modification. For example, if you can't do a push up, then do a knee push up. If you can't do that, do a plank. If you can't do anything at all, atleast job in place or do mountain climbers. Don't stop moving!

That's awesome that you'll be starting Monday! What have you been doing before? Insanity was the program that started my weight loss journey, and I lost 17 lbs my first round. I have to say that the nutrition is super important, so make sure you read the Elite Nutrition guide.

As far as eating after your workout, it is important to fuel your muscles. It doesn't have to be a huge meal, it could be a shake if you wanted.

I would love to join the your challenge group!

I have kids plus I work - so I have a small window of time which I have put aside for insanity!

I plan to work out from 7pm. So I should eat around 9pm ish?
Also, can I have the shake as a substitute instead of a meal?

Wow 17pounds! thats awesome. I have never done any sort of fitness program before like this... I read lots of comments from people saying it is difficult for beginners.
I use to play a lot of college bball many years back - and went to the gym on and off.

But I am still optimisitic! emoticon

I would say that having a shake at 9 would be okay! Are you eating anything between lunch and your work out? I just want to make sure you have the energy you need to dig deep - even if that means making yourself a snack and leaving it in the fridge before work, or trying to eat a banana in the car on the way home.

I can't wait to help you through this adventure! Insanity has done wonders for me. Though I do not have a lot to lose (10-20 lbs) I am doing the insanity challenge to strengthen myself mentally and physically. It has really helped me to take control in other aspects of my life. It's going to do amazing things for you too, if you let it and believe in yourself. And I believe in you.
