It's Navid!! I'm doing X2 and I was was wondering what are your thoughts on peanut butter and protein bars..?
I eat them as snacks during the day,, but can you recommend a better snack?

Hey Tony!

It looks like you have a ton of energy. I was wondering what you can attribute this to, is it just exercising and eating right? I've been really low on energy for a long time and have turned into a caffeine junky, I would love to try whatever you're doing.

My question is: In the P90X2 strength phase is it OK to do a P90X workout instead of a P90X2 workout?. For example: do Legs and Back (P90X) instead of Base and Back (P90X2)

Hey Tony,

Love X2, started with P90X and did Insanity, Asylum and X2 and I've lost 80 pounds over the last year! Just wanted to share the good word and I appreciate the programs you guys put out.

Also, have you heard of Fat Gripz? And if so, do you have an opinion on them.

So much to say so little time... On june 12 i started Insianty... 60 days str8.. I saw small results in my legs and face.. Then i started P90X OMG i'm hooked.. Love it.. But dang still very small results.. So i stated doubles nothing dang again.. now i have P2, COMBAT.. Thought i was working to hard so i mix up P90 and combat.. have not started P2 yet. toned it down to 5 days instead of 7... umm nothing.. I feel like a failuar.. im tired depress abit after working so dang hard and nothing in return.. i stay str8 on course no matter how tired i am Tony. My meal plane is this.. 5:20 am.. Oatmeal, Wheat toast 1 slice.. 1.Dan Active, 4.Super food Fruit pills, 2 joint pills, 1 men's pro health vitamin.. 2 cups of coffee creamer only.. 9:30 20g protine bar or a banana. 11:30 turky burger on wheat with water and pickel... 2 or 3 pm snak the same 5:30 vegables with 1 meat.. i work out hard 1 hr @ 7pm sharp after shower and sleep by 10:30... on the weeks ends its the same... i broke down at christmas and ate 1 slice of red velet cake.. i have held up with this same routine.. and i have tried increasing and decreasing my food intake.. I have a great coach but man im exhausted please help me get reid of my flab i have had love handles and a gut im working so hard and they want move can you help me... im thinking im just doomed man... im 44, a male and sad. emoticon

Hi Tony,
I started P90X two weeks ago. I started with 155 and I lost 5 pounds, but this last week I stocked on 150 lbs. Why I buy it? because.. on July 4th I will be 40, I needed more energy, and this summer I want to go to on vacation to St.Thomas and wear a nice swimsuit...and it has been 10 years..that I do not wear a swimsuit..a real oneemoticon
So far its nice to see you on my living room seven days a weekemoticon
you are funny, and so far I believe in you and in the program...
what I am struggling with?
1.the "form" of some exercises, push ups (diamond, dive-bomber push ups)
2.Believe it or not...I am afraid to eat more than 1,000 calories per day...I do not want to look bulky like Chewbacca!
fact: I love your Yoga dvd...but at the beginning there are too many repetitive movements...kind of boring..sorry..but these are the feelings I am experience with P90X

Hi Tony,

I am on Week 11 of P90X and really respect the program and the schedule to the core. It changed my lifestyle and my wife too has some good influence. I have a couple of questions on Ab Ripper X and Nutrition & Yoga.

1. In Ab-ripper X, is it OK to have a padding of a folded towel near the buttocks to support the lower back while doing the In n Outs, Bicycle, Reverse Bicycle and Crunchy Frogs? When I use to do these exercises without the towel,I had a little pain in my lower back. I started using the towel as padding and I am able to do these exercises with a better form. Please suggest.

2. What are your views on the Protein Change Theory? It terms a lot of basic understanding like the amount of protein a body can ingest in one sitting as a misconception. Following is one paragraph from the article I read
"This is what gives many people the idea that there is a magic amount of protein that is sufficient or optimal. If amino acids are only used as substrate then one would be led to think that you simply need to supply enough substrate to get the job done. It doesn’t work quite like that."

3. Post workout drink after yoga - Do you recommend having the P90X R & R formula after the Yoga too? I have noticed that in all the other workout you mention about the P90X R & R formula but not in Yoga. I'd like to know your thoughts.

4. Do you recommend any Pre-Workout drink? If so, why?

One last question about Shakeology. It says it is a meal replacement. Does it mean that when I have shakeology, I should not eat anything else in that meal? Does it necessarily has be that way? With so much of workout, I believe only shakeology is not enough for my body & I feel hungry too soon or feel weak during the workouts. Please let me know.

First of all I have to say thanks BeachBody changed my life or I should say P90X did, I did the P90X program and went from 220 pounds to 157 at the end of it. Everything was going fine until I herniated my back 2 years ago and finally had it fused on Feb. 5th of 2012, (C5-C7)in the time I gained almost all my weight back, I said enough is enough when I jump on the scale and it said 219.9, I wasn't hitting that 220 mark again. I started Insanity to get my cardio back and because the doctor's told me P90X might be to hard on it, I'm 36 days into the Insanity program and so far I've lost 20 pounds, the doctor cleared me and told me I could start up on the P90X program, My question is should I try to do them both or waite until I'm done with the Insanity program to start. I think I can and really, really want to does that sound (INSANE) or what. I want to get back done to that 157 area but this time I want the abs and everything.Your thoughts because you are the "MAN"

Hey Tony I'm Zac and I'm just trying to figure what I need to eat while trying to gain muscle and get stronger. But the stuff I eat has to to stay in my budget, you know? Also if you can give me some tips on workout routines that specialize in gaing muscle. I really need this.

Hello there!! 6 things

1. I'm in my 2nd week...less fruits, less shakeology, less oats, more protein= constipation...having huge problem.


2. The portions in the meal plan are for men or both? I feel like I can't eat all that bunch of food I stop when I'm feeling no hunger.


3. Can i split the R & R? I do my workouts at 5am, but you have it for snack? I'm confused can I drink the 2 scoops after workout and 2 scoop for snack?


4. Do I have to split my portions of whey protein during the day or I can use 1 scoop before my workout?

5. I have 2 kids 6 and 4 and they can be demanding..part time...beachbody coach, single mom busy busy.... sometimes I don't have the time or energy to cook, in this case what do you recommend as a quick option for lunch or dinner?

6. There are days I don't have much sleep like 4 or 5 hours those days you recommend me to skip my workout? or to do it anyways and go to bed earlier that day if possible? I know if I don't rest much I will not have same results, but that's just my life I can do some lightly changes but that's about it

Hey Tony, I only have seven weeks left of P90x and I'm a little nervous because the inside of my right bicep seems much larger than my left. Could this be because I haven't been straightening my left arm all the way with out realizing? Also any idea's on a quick way of getting it up to speed? I started this program weighing about 145-150.. Most people start it because they're trying to loose weight. I wanted muscle. I've put everything i had into this program, and can even keep up with you guys. I even now own a set of bow-flex B52's. (I can't lift as much weight yet though sadly. I've even regretfully lost about 20 pounds so I've been using something ancient called a weight belt to add some pounds. I plan on buying a weight vest when i get some money together.) I've never exactly been a big guy but I'm in great shape thanks to these videos. Please help me out a little with that little extra mile, anything you got would help out a lot.

Tony - You've changed my health and outlook on life! At 45 I've lost over 85lbs, become X Certified, and am paying it forward as a Personal Trainer.

Since X2 has been out over a year now, any plans on beginning a new One on One series? I mix and match your previous 3 series and really enjoy them. OH, please do not acknowledge the test tone! And how do you like your log cover?

Today was day 44 for me on the Power 90 workouts. I had bloodwork done in late December and that was an eye opener. I made it through the holidays and then started power 90 the first week of the new years. 6 weeks later, I had new bloodwork come back yesterday. Total Cholesterol dropped from 204 to 150 (a 54 point drop). Triglycerides went from 325 (over double normal) to 146. I cut my triglycerides in more than half! And I'm only half way through the workouts.

I learned this from my coach. Its OK to eat more as long as your staying with the work out problems. A lot of people will stay with the same weight cuase there not eating enough. Im not professional but I bet you could go up atleast to 1500 Calories?

Tony: Thanks to you first of all . I am 63 yrs. old and before starting P90X was in good aerobic shape but wanted to get more fit,stonger and less body fat. In last two yrs. had both shoulders re-constructed as very bad. I am doing very well now just finished week #9 . The problem is I have lost muscle mass in first two blocks! I did not have a recovery type drink for 3 weeks. I think I was a little into starvation mode. Last 3 wks. with recovery drink. Now however have not lost any more body fat % as I lost 2% the first 4-5 weeks. Just wondering how I can tweek diet or something else. Weight now is 98Lbs. % fat at 16%. I am only 4ft. 11 in. tall so am on level 1 , portion control diet plan. Please give advice , either here or on my dashboard name "tongeto". Thanks Jim !!

hi tony, awesome programs .did 2 rounds of p90x and now doing combat.i do have some medical things i have to watch for. i have total hip replacements,bad knees,70 year old spine in a 51 year old body.most of the time i feel pretty good and i no longer take blood pressure pills or suppositaires . i have quit smoking for 5 weeks now and keeping clean and staying with the fight.i also have dish which is premature aging of the joints with oa.i have been working hard on flexabilty as well.now all hip replacements people cannot go skiing. i am planning to become a coach for beachbody and firmly believe in a healthy life style.keep up the good work and keep on bringing new workout programs.take care from john banks

Hey Tony,
I've trying to wean myself off caffeine and pre-workout supplements and I came up with this pre-workout smoothie. So far it has helped me get ready for my workouts but, I want to know if it will support my goal of staying lean and maintaining my abs long term because of the sugar? My recipe is;
4-5 Strawberries
1/2 cup of Mixed Berries (Black, Blue and Rasberries)
3-4 small Pineapple Chunks
1 Banana
1/2 cup of Orange Juice (not fruit concentrate, only 25 kcals and 5g of sugar)
3 Tbsp of Liquid Egg Whites
1 tsp of Chia Seeds
Water and ice to fill in the rest.
Does this recipe sound good, any suggestions to it?
PS: If it helps I eat 2400 kcals (40%c, 30%p, 30%f)
