Just eat regular food, and dont eat less in beast phase, just continue on a calorie surplus.

It takes years of hard work to gain 20 pounds of raw muscle.
Let me give you some coaching advice. 1. Don't be so hostile to the people you are trying to help.
2. Why not ask his goals first? What if he wants to lose some fat?
3. Instead of telling him what he doesn't "need", why not suggest an alternative?
4. Maybe suggest some regular foods for him?
5. Tell him the pro's and con's of eating before bed...why might this be a good or bad idea? What if he wants a late night snack? What if he's in college and is studying late?
6. Not everyone is an Ectomorph. Just because it may take you years to put on muscle doesn't mean it will take someone else years to put on muscle. Why not ask his body type?
