Ready to push back against winter's cold, short days? Ready to smash and kick your body to a new level? Then join me in this February challenge to Kick Those Winter Blahs!

Hi, I'm Coach Elizabeth and I'm stoked to be starting this Combat program with you! I'm ready to help you through the program, push you if you need pushing, and support you when you stumble. If you aren't new to Combat, please join and give your take on how to do the moves, rave about the music, or even just how to make your best warrior's face (pics, please emoticon ).

Bring your accountability with you! Post your Day 1 photo and tell me about yourself -- who you are, what you like about the program, what you plan -- not hope, but PLAN -- to achieve. What kind of obstacles do you face that we can turn into itty bitty speedbumps?

Send me a buddy request if you have any questions. I'm looking forward to starting with you!
~Elizabeth

Thanks guys! Ready to go? It's Combat 30: Kick Start today -- Day 1 in the basic package. Take it easy and keep your sense of humor -- I know I end up feeling foolish when trying to learn new moves. Let me know how it goes! For those doing Ultimate Warrior: how different is it from the Combat Warrior and Supreme Warrior?

You know it! It's Day 2 for me: Power HIIT 1. Are you just starting or are you into the program a ways? Great to have you aboard!

Proatmeal for breakfast with green tea and some hardboiled eggs (no yolks, can't stand the yolks). Can't wait for my mid-morning snack of strawberry Shakeology. I rarely add anything in since I use it as my snack. What's your favorite Shakeology recipe?

Have fun,
~Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth,

Great job getting your thread kicked off!

I ordered the LMC challenge pack Saturday and can't hardly wait to get started. If you don't mind, I'd like to subscribe to your thread. I will post my daily P90x accountability too.

Awesome workout today, Chest , shoulders and Triceps.

Lots of pushups! Followed by ARX. Time:01:11 HR 121 Max 153 Calories: 672

I wasn't too bad yesterday. SuperSunday, I had a beer, a serving tortilla chips, a 1/4 serving of Jalapenos with a couple TBSPs of Cheese sauce. Main meal was BBQ boneless BBQ chicken chunks. I ate a small breakfast, lunch and enjoyed dinner with the game. Yay Ravens!

Back to work now. emoticon

Have a great day!

Welcome aboard, Al! I'm finishing up P90X this week, so doing the two programs together will be interesting emoticon I've got Yoga X on tap for tonight while the family's away. Chest/Shoulders/Triceps is one of the workouts that leaves my arms shaking at the end.

A big event day is always hard to work around. Looks like you managed to rein in the Feed Me Monster by controlling your portions. Good job! I made turkey chilli (actually half a pound of ground turkey and half a pound of mild Italian sausage) and threw some extra cayenne at it. That was mighty fine emoticon

Have fun with it!

Did 25 minutes under pack on the treadmill, then went on to finish up with Plyometrics:

Time: 1:35 HR 120 Max 155 Calories: 873

Man, I love that feeling you get after pushing yourself. Like you can accomplish anything.

Had a P90x Recovery drink after. Have a great day!

PS. My Combat CP has shipped! Can you tell I'm super-stoked?

I have Combat 45 Power Kata on tap for today! Looking forward to it after driving seven hours and sitting in a workshop yesterday.

Good job, Al! I need new batteries for my HRM emoticon Definitely check out The Basics disc when you get your Combat. It'll explain all the moves -- a lot were new to me.

Have a fun day,
~Elizabeth

Great workout this morning. Goals for the day were achieved with no problems. Did 20 on the treadmill under pack, then knocked out P90x Back and Biceps with ARX.

Time: 1:37 HR 112 Max 137 Calories: 779

Enjoyed a nice P90x Recovery drink.

How was your workout? Did you get one in?

Busy day today, lots of studying to do.

Cheers!

PS. My Combat CP shipped. Maybe here on Friday! Oh yeah.

Hey, Al, good work! How much do you carry in your pack when you run on the treadmill? I did do Combat 45 yesterday and am off in a few to do Combat's Plyo. It'll be interesting to see how that stacks up to P90X's Plyo emoticon So far, I'm liking the shorter workouts but I know later in the program I'll get to the 60-minute workout. I don't feel as rushed in the morning after exercising.

Have a good one!

Well, I don't run with it on. I walk at a brisk pace with anywhere from 5-7% incline. Kind of like hiking a trail full of switchbacks. Yeah, I would like to know too. I've been watching the teasers and they look pretty intense. I like to do my workouts early in the morning, they work best for me.

You have a great day!

My accountability for today:

Got some good CardioV in this morning. Training hard for my summer climb so it was back on the treadmill. I figure the pack to weigh in at about 28 or so pounds. Did a 6% incline for 20 then followed up with a nice round of CardioX.

Time: 01:16 HR 113 Max 156 Calories 617

P90x Recovery Drink afterwards.

I pulled a good one when I ordered my CP, I forgot to indicate a large kick boxing glove so a small (default) was sent. I decided to keep it and see if my wife can use them. I bought a set of Everlasts at Big 5, same price.

Back to the books. Have a great day everyone!

Lunchtime accountability emoticon 2 cups mixed baby greens with some avocado and a sprinkle of feta. Slice of Smart Carb protein bread and curry egg salad. You want the earlier stuff? Breakfast was oatmeal with blueberries and (on the side, of course) half a cup of lowfat organic cottage cheese. Mid-morning snack: chocolate Shakeology in skim milk with cinnamon and cayenne. Too. Die. For.

Combat's Shock Plyo was awesome. Heart rate was over 160. I breathe hard with P90X's plyo but I guess I've memorized it enough or gotten used to it that this is just different and hard. Loved it! One isn't any better or worse than the other -- they're different.

On tap for tomorrow: Combat 30.

Good job!

Hey Coach Elizabeth!

Oh man! I love it when the FeEx guy delivers! Combat Challenge Pack with Shakeology arrived!

Everything you need to get fight ready. I forgot to make sure I order a large set of gloves so it defaulted to small. I'm going see if my wife can use them, if not, see if I can sell them.

Gonna check it out now!

"Stay with the fight!!!"

PS. I was suppose to do P90x Legs and Back but opted to ride my mountain bike to school and back.

Ride:

AM: 26:45 HR 110 Max 142 Calories: 218
PM: 28:00 HR 118 Max 144 Calories: 244

Ta-da! You're going to have fun with Combat, Al emoticon Let me know how you like the strawberry Shakeology on a daily basis. I've tried it and liked it but I'm addicted to my chocolate Shakeo with cinnamon and cayenne. Can your wife wear those small gloves?

A mountain bike to school...man, I don't want to know how long it would take me to bike to work -- I live 10 miles away and it's all hills. I need to get some new tires for my Trek hybrid so I can ride the bike paths with my family when it's nice.

Have a great weekend,
~Elizabeth

You know, I tried them on and they fit pretty good. I like the strawberry about the same as I do the chocolate. There are so many cool recipes it's hard to decide what to mix up.

Yeah, I have some climbs in both directions, but it's like maybe 4.5 miles RT. The parking at the college terrible and riding gives another opportunity to exercise. I have a road bike too. It's a Cannondale Synapse. I will be riding that one on the upcoming ride called, "ChillyHilly" on Bainbridge Island. I've ridden out there once, but not the whole route, so on the 24th I'll be riding all 32.7 miles of it, so wish me luck!

You have a great weekend too!

Good Morning! I worked off the Basic DVD practicing the moves for Combat followed by Kickstart again. Shirt is drenched, 483 calorie obliterated.

I must be the Rocky Balboa of Combat. I feel like he did when Apollo was teaching him to move in rhythym. Practice makes perfect.

Had a tropical flavored P90x Recovery drink.

"Stay with the fight!"
