Not loosing weight and my love handles came back!

Hi all,
I am 5"1' and 70kg and 22 years old. clearly i am over weight so i started off with insanity on Dec 27 2012. It been 4 weeks i've been engaged in this craziness. Ever since the first day i have never dropped a single kilo from the recorded weight however i could see some changes in waist. I could now wear my old clothes. I used to wear XL before, now i am down to L and almost fitting for Medium size shirt.I couldn't follow the diet as per the recipes provided in the nutritional guide. However, i used to eat 5 times a day and here is what i eat regularly in a 24hrs and please do suggest me if there is anything i am doing wrong.

Meal 1 (6AM) : Oats
Meal 2 (9AM) : 2 slice whole meal bread + 1 tbsp peanut butter
Meal 3 (12PM/1PM) : 1 Cucumber sliced + 2 lettuce leaves + 1 Apple + 1 pc grilled chicken
Meal 4 (4PM) : 2 slice whole meal bread + 1 tbsp peanut butter + 1 Banana
Insanity at 8PM
Meal 5 : 1/2 to 1 cup brown rice + 1 pc grilled chicken + Corn nibblets + green peas

Majorly i want to loose my embarrassing & irritating love handles and moobies.

Any suggestions or opinions to get my results are appreciated. Thanks!

It sounds to me like you are not eating enough... and you'll need to lean even more toward eating protein. I will add you as a friend and help you set up an account to track your nutrients.

When I did Insanity I didn't drop weight as much as I did lose inches. The Insanity workout is a endurance workout that will make you cardio be at best. You will burn ft with the high intensity workouts but, sometimes to lose weight you need to step back a little. As the eliz said, you need to eat more, greek yougurt, avocado, almonds...healthy fats to burn the bad fats. Also, I would suggest when you finish Insanity to try something like Turbo fire or Les Mills combat for the core and love handles. Good luck

I would also add that it looks like you may have too many processed carbs (bread) and not enough protein or fat.

I might think about swapping out one of those bread servings for a sweet potato, which packs much more nutritional punch. I'd also think about adding some plain yogurt with berries to your breakfast and drizzling some olive oil over your veggies at dinner.

That would increase your calories and improve your nutritional profile.

but wont i look even more bulky if i have more amounts of protien when i am already overweight? i always used to have a lot of protiens like peanut butter, chicken brst. i used to have sweet potato in month one but i felt myself bulking with muscle especially the chest area. when u are short like 5"1' too much of bulkiness in ur chest area would look odd right? i have been to gym before but i wasnt trained by any instructor, still i gained nuscle which is now covered with fat. the only goal i want to achieve with insanity is to simply burn the fat off. Just becuz of my fat i dont look good in t-shirts or formal shirts....and frankly speaking thats very depressing...!

I would recommend adding fresh fruit and vegetables to your meals. The fresh veggies will add bulk to your diet without adding calories. They also are packed with needed nutrients. Try limiting the bread to once a day and replace with veggies and hummus or apple and peanut butter.

today for lunch i took 3pcs of sweet potato(boiled), 1 cucumber sliced, 1 grilled chckn brst. I didnt get tym to grab bread. Yesterday i kudnt do max cardio conditioning. I was really exhausted afta work. However, today am bringing it. Hi elizabeth, thank you for your suggestion. I had a small doubt if it was becuz of that. I usually have apes and bananas and i think i have to increase the quantity of my intake.Do u have any other fruits or veggies u can suggest?

I've read it's also more beneficial to work out in the morning if you want to lose fat (if that is an option for you). Working out first thing in the morning is when your glycogen levels are depleted, thus the body burns the fat, not the food you've eaten (because you haven't eaten any yet!)

That being said, because you won't have fueled your body yet, the workouts will be a bit harder to do, but you'll burn more fat doing them.

no thats definitely not an option for me. I do not have the time for it. the only time i feel to push through is when i am back home after work. Evenings i have plenty of time to go insane.

No. No one food item can make you bulky....the only thing that can do so is lifting really heavy weight and eating a surplus of calories.

Protein is essential for muscle repair and synthesis, so adding more to your diet definitely won't hurt you and will probably help.
