I just finished month 1 of Turbo Fire yesterday. I took my 30 day progress photos today, and there is minimal change at best.

I have been eating 1600 - 1700 calories per day during the entire month. ( I was eating less than this prior to TF) According to the calorie calculator in the TF book, this is a good amount for a 5'4, 140 pound female. After a month, I was also up a pound. Nothing significant, but with there not being much change in photos, it seems like it is nothing more than water weight fluctuation.

My nutrition is pretty good. I would say that I eat clean 85% of the time. Lots of protein, fruits, veggies, and minimal processed carbs.

Did anyone else not see much change until their 60 day pictures? I want to keep going and finish the program, but I don't want to feel like I am wasting my time either.

I have a couple thoughts:

1) Can you give a description of an meal you'd prepare for yourself?
2) Are you using Shakeology at all?
3) Are you signed up as a Club Member?
4) Has your coach advised you on solutions to this problem?

A sample menu would be like this:

Breakfast: Smoothie - 1 cup almond milk, 1 scoop whey protein powder, 1/2 cup strawberries, 1/2 cup spinach, 1/2 cup low sodium cottage cheese
Quest Protein Bar

490 calories

Snack : 1 pkt low sugar oatmeal
4oz Dietz and Watson Gourmet Light Turkey (low sodium)

200 caloires

Lunch: 4 oz lean meat (usually a chicken breast)
1 apple
3 oz baby carrots
2 tbsp natural peanut butter

450 calories

Dinner: 4 oz lean meat
2 servings veggies of some kind (sweet potato, kale, green beans, romaine lettuce, broccoli, etc)

200 calories

Snack: 1/2 pink grapefruit
1 graham cracker
1 tbsp peanut butter

300 calories

Total: 1640

I don't use shakeology. My husband and I have a grocery budget of about $250 a month. I just cannot justify spending half of that on shakeology. Maybe when finances are better, I can splurge on it.

I am not signed up as a club member. Again, extra expenses of any kind are not possible right now.

I haven't discussed it with my coach yet. I was looking for input from those who are doing or have done turbo fire.

"The Ramen Noodle" budget. emoticon All too familiar with it!

Shakeology is pricy, but I still recommend it if and when you find room in your budget. All the Beachbody programs, to my knowledge, have incorporated it into their meal plans. And from what I see for your breakfast, the Strawberry one might be the flavor that best suits you. Remember, it's meant as a meal replacement, and on Home Direct will cost you, roughly, $4/meal. It's $3/meal if you sign up and become a coach sometime in the future. I, myself, lost 5 pounds just adding that to my diet. Becoming a club member is also a great way to get some really nutritious meal ideals for you and your family.

I'm a P90X fan and grad, and I'll tell you what I've heard Tony say on countless Youtube vids: Try cutting out dairy and slim down to minimal grains in your diet. You might see a change that way too. Ask someone in your local supermarket or natural food store about lactose and gluten-free options for a change of pace.

This article might be a good read for you too. Tony posted this to his Facebook fan page a bit ago.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2267714/Its-harder-WOMEN-lose-weight-men.html

Finally, try reaching out to your coach and see what he/she has to say. They might have some other ideas that I can't think of at the moment.

I'd like to stay in touch, and help you out. If you want, I'm on Facebook, or you're more than welcome to e-mail me.

I'll also ask my coach friends and see what they have to say for you, if that's ok by you.

Best of luck to you. Please stay in touch!

I am also 5'4" but my coach has me on a 1500 cal meal plan. Shakeology for breakfast and 4 other meals of 300 cal each. I started out at 136 and am down to 128.5. I am doing the Combat right now, and also lifting weights. I totally understand the food budget as we are a 1 income family with 4 teenagers who like to eat! But we have re worked our budget to fit the shakeology in there because my husband and I saw the benefits and results from taking it every morning. I also am dealing with hypothyroidism which slows my metabolism and makes it harder for me to lose weight, but so far I have seen results even in the 30 days that I've been doing the program and shakeology. Not as quick as I did a couple of years ago, but due to my thyroid issue, it is going to take me a bit longer this time to get back into shape. Hang in there and just be consistent and you will eventually see the results. For me, I can not just do cardio, I have to do some sort of weight training in order to see the results that I want. (Due to my metabolism and thyroid issue).

I'll try the 1500 calories and see if that helps. I definitely like shakeology (chocolate ones, from samples I've gotten) and just need to figure out a way to afford it eventually.

I'd definitely like to stay in touch, kross. I'll add you on Facebook. My name is Ashley Kosky. And I am definitely okay with you asking your coach if he/she has any suggestions.

Thanks to both of you for your input/suggestions.

All great bits of advise here, one thing I might add is to forget about the scale and the tape measure for the time being, longer programs like the 90 day ones such as P90X and turbo fire are designed to build to something great. One month in may be a bit early to worry about the results, as for the weight gain, Ms. Johnson herself and Carl Edwards have both mentioned why this happens. When I do a program I take my day one pics and measurements and don't look at them or the scale again until I am done. Seems to have worked, I lost 121 lbs and 16 inches off my waist since deciding to get fit. Hang in there and keep bringing it each day the results will be there!

Heck, I won the December Beachbody challenge and am in the voting for the quarterly winner right now. You can go to the voting page and see my story I am Justin B. Keep it up be proud that you made it 30 days so far (That is more than most of the country) and enjoy the results.

Good Afternoon,

I think you are doing great, keep pushing play. Pushing play is easy (most of the time) it's the food that you have to consume and watch. I started TF on 11/18/12 and the first month I gained .4 lbs but I lost 3" off my body. Day 60, I lost 1.8 lbs and 2", but day 60 I finally saw changes in my body in the pictures that I took, they were small changes but I could tell. So, I have 2 more weeks to get to day 90. I am not at my ideal weight yet. I am going to do another round starting Feb. 25th but I just bought the advanced DVD's so I will do 120 days.

I know it's frustrating, I think we all want instant results, but you are changing your life one day at a time. You keep pushing play and recording your food, and you will get to your goal. You are worth the time and effort. I'll request you as a buddy and we can keep each other motivated. I also use myfitnesspal.com to record my food and exercise. It seems to help me stay on track.

Yeah, don't worry about it, just keep doing it!

I gained muscle in the first month, then in the second month i really started to see changes in my body with toning.

With TF, watching the scale won't keep you going, it's how you look in the mirror that will keep you coming back for more, oh, and because it's a lot of fun! Keep pushing play as Chalean says, and you'll soon be seeing results!
