My name is Ashley and im 30 years old and just got out of a 4 yr emotionally abusive marriage,the reason im tell you guys this is that i let myself go by gaining alot of weight and having two back to back babies didnt help but my babies were worth everything..so im tired of being miserable with how i feel and look..chasing kids wears me out..they are 2 and almost four..i want more energy and to be healthy and happy so im about to start insanity and really need the support and friends to help me thru this.

Sounds like you've been through a lot lately! But it's awesome that you're taking step to get yourself healthier. You definitely deserve that and your kids will appreciate it too. Have you started yet or is that still coming?

Hey Ashley,
Congrats on starting Insanity. It will be challenging but rewarding. Just a few tips that I found after doing the program the first time. You don't have to follow all of them (or any of them) but it worked for me:

1. Floor – this is important. I worked out in my basement and found that I needed to buy foam matting to cushion the impact. You can buy half inch or three quarter inch matting from Amazon fairly cheap (got mine for about $100). It saved my knees, which were starting to really hurt from the workouts.
2. Meal plan – if you don’t eat enough, you will not drop weight but you may add weight. Your body is most likely going to do more cardio than ever before and as a result, you’ll need to keep it fueled properly. The first time I did the work out I didn’t eat enough and actually gained 10 lbs. Also the meal plan changes in month two so be sure to read the nutrition guide every few weeks.
3. Warm up before you start the workouts! This cannot be stressed enough! The warm up that they do to start each workout is nuts and if your body is cold there is a high chance you will get injured. Especially if you have a history of tight calves or Achilles tendons. Get a sweat going and do some stretching if anything is tight. You have been warned!
4. Supplements – The first time I started Insanity, my knees hurt. As mentioned above, I didn’t eat enough and that led to me gaining, not losing weight. As a result I started taking Glucosamine and found it helped a great deal. You can find them in any health food store, supermarket or warehouse store. So you may want to consider it.
5. Beachbody Energy and Endurance – I would take this about 15 minutes before warming up and it really kept me going through the workout
6. Results and recovery formula – I would take this after my workouts to help with the muscle fatigue and soreness.



Also I have a group going if you want to join. I'm doing a hybrid of p90x and Insanity but the group is keeping everyone motivated and accountable. We would love to have you.

Excellent. Insanity is the best feel-good program I ever did. It gives a terrific endorphin rush, and I think it is almost impossible to feel down after that. I think you're going to love it. emoticon

You and your children are worth millions. Best wishes to your and your babies on a new journey of health, happiness, and love.

I understand how you feel as far as the energy. I'm a preschool teacher of 20 kids. I didn't have the energy to run around the playground with them. Since starting beachbody programs, I can now do more with them, I can dance with them without "dying". Insanity will get you into great shape and increase your endurance to play and last with your children. Commit to this daily, work on your nutrition, schedule your time to workout. This is your support group. We are here to help you on this journey with Insanity and many more. I will be glad to help you get through this.
