Help with my Insanity routine
I am in my third week of Insanity and had to miss 3 days in a row due to illness. I'm all better and ready to go. Should I pick up where I left off? If I do that today, tomorrow is my scheduled rest day. Do I rest tomorrow? or jump right into the next day?

It depends on what you want to do:

I have now tried to finish insanity twice. The first time around, if I missed a day or more I would go back and restart the week. But, I never finished insanity 60 days.
This time around I intend to keep going (Pick-up where I left off) warm up a lot more (stopping the video to stretch longer) my first workout back.
I also ate 30 minutes before the workout (usually I wait and eat breakfast after).
At the end of 60 days I plan to tally all the missed days and do additional workouts until I complete 60 days.

Oh, and about it being rest day. I count those days as non-insanity days too, and I do an alternative workout like lifting weights, crunches, and ball exercises which keep me doing something, but do not over do it.

I would keep it as a rest day because otherwise you'll have more than 6 really hard days in a row (so try to do something else that's not cardio hard) on your rest day.

I would pick up where you left off, but do your next scheduled workout. It's ok if you got past the 63 days by a couple. The important thing is to finish all the workouts in my opinion.

Thanks for the info. I was leaning toward picking up where I left off and keeping the rest day, but wanted to see what others had to say. Great idea about doing something different on my rest day. Thanks!

I agree, I think it would be self-defeating to keep restarting everytime you had a setback. With that said, do your best to stick with it when you are not ill.

I could kick myself for my 1st round of Insanity. I stopped two weeks before the end. This was because I was not consistent on the timing of my workouts and not following the nutrition plan exactly as I should.

Also note that alcohol is a motivation sapper. Right now I am on day 38 of Insanity and have not had a beer in almost 6 weeks. Frankly, I don't know if I will go back to drinking much alcohol on any regular basis. I feel so much better this way.

Hope that helps!

Personally, I would take the rest coming off the illness, then pick up right where I left off.
