Equipment Question
Equipment Question
2/4/13 8:12 PM
hey gang just started p90x and ive had a iron gym for years but it doesnt fit any doorway in the house i currently live in. I purchased an everlast resistance band set up that you close in a door. My concern is that I had one like this that snapped back at me and hit me in the eye and now im terrified of that happening again. Any suggestions on other alternatives?

If you're looking for a quality set of resistance bands, google a company called BodyLastics. I've had their bands for close to 5 years now and never had a problem with them. Their bands come with some kind of technology in them that will limit how far you can stretch them, making them about 99% snap resistant. They have a channel on YouTube where they explain how it works and you can see that they still offer plenty of stretch to them so you can complete the lat pulldown moves with no problems.

Another thing I love about their bands is they have clip handle system so you can easily add or remove resistnance in seconds.

thanks for your input. My problem wasnt that the band itself snapped it was that the strap that was designed to be wedged in the door came free of the door and came at me leaving me in great agony and made me look like i went 5 rounds with Tyson lol. Thanks again though ill def. look into it.

DOH!
Now that would wake you up huh? I use a strap that fits around the door handle, close the door and then just slip the band through the loop on the other side. If you get a flat one, you can also loop it around the hinge for a higher adjustment.

Hope that helps! Good luck and "don't be scared" emoticon

I use a Jungle Gym Suspension trainer......about $100 bucks. Similar to TRX, but half of the cost. Will not snap like a band...supports 300lbs per strap ( you get 2 ). I love it!
