Haha, the first week you will feel it ALL OVER your body! Take a recovery drink to help with the soreness of tomorrow!!

BRING IT!

IT will challenge the heck out of you the first few weeks. Just keep working hard and keep pushing play. Mentally prepare yourself every night and every day! Make sure you eat a good diet to help heal your muscles and help fuel your workouts! You can do it! emoticon

First step in a fantastic journey MissLissaW, I'm on week 2 and I'll be perfectly honest I was so sore by day 4 I could barely do half of each :30 exercise, not to mention the 15 minutes of trying to put clothes on without moving my muscles too much.

It gets better, the overall soreness goes away and is replaced by individual aches on muscles you never felt before, but these are minor. Just keep at it and if you can only do 1 pushup this week due to being tired and sore, next week do 2 or more. Do what you can and ignore how many Tony and company are doing.

This is about competing with that voice in your head that tells you you can't do it, your're too sore, too tired; prove it wrong.

Do recovery drinks actually work? I was considering buying the one that they use.

Congratulations on starting the P90X journey! I won't sugar-coat it... the first week is rough once you start feeling the soreness. Once you get further into the program you'll get sore for a day on each area you work, but the first week you're probably going to be VERY sore all over. Push through it as best you can!

The recovery drink is different for many people. Everyone reacts different to some of the ingredients in it, like creatine, even though your body produces it naturally. I get a little more stiff with it, but stretching takes care of that. Some people see a little more temporary water weight with it, but you should be ignoring the scale anyway (the scale lies to you!!) I personally use it for the better muscle recovery and building that it provides, not as a miracle soreness preventer. If you work hard you'll feel sore... but it's a GOOD sore!

Thank you Sandtiger!
Yes, so far it is ROUGH. Haha but it's not too bad, I can still move so that's good. I mean i've worked out sorta before starting P90X. I would do Zumba several times a week and run for like twenty minutes a couple times a week. Anyway, yeah I hope that my legs won't be too sore tomorrow...

Thanks for answering my question about whether or not recovery drinks work. I will deff. consider it..depending on how much it is haha. Money is kind of tight I just spent alot on art supplies for one of my courses. Yeah I stretch before and after I work out. & yes so true about it being a GOOD SORE. Haha.

Have a great night!
-Lissa
