Can you believe we're already six weeks into the year? If you started a workout program near January 1st, that means you're nearing or just past the halfway point! Congratulations!

As I'm on Day 40 of P90X myself, I'm guessing that you could use a little motivation to keep you committed to making it all the way through your program. Or, if you're just starting, something to help you get through those first 40 days. Enter the 40 Days of Change Sweepstakes.

Over the next 40 days, we encourage you to make a positive change in your life. As we head into spring, it's a good time to give up what isn't good for you or start doing something that is good for you. Here are some ideas to get you started:

5 Things to Ditch:
1. Soda - even diet soda.
2. Your desk chair. Try standing more or swap out your desk chair for a stability ball.
3. Eating meat every day. Could you go one day without it? Meatless Monday?
4. Alcohol.
5. Negative self talk - or even negative talk about others.

5 Things to Try:
1. Eating a healthy breakfast every morning.
2. Increasing your fruits or vegetable servings by at least 1 a day.
3. Keeping a gratitude journal and writing down 1 thing each day that you're grateful for.
4. Paying a compliment or doing something nice for someone else once a day.
5. Getting 8 hours of sleep a night.

To enter the sweepstakes, all you need to do is comment below at some point during the contest and tell us what positive change (other than doing your workout) you are incorporating into your life for the next 40 days. At the end of these 40 days, we will randomly choose a winner to receive a 30-day bag of Shakeology. This is awesome!

I am going to ditch eating meat everyday and swap out my desk chair for a stability ball!! What an awesome new challenge! I am also going to compliment at least one person a day and keep a gratitude journal! Let's do this!

I like the idea of a "gratitude journal"! There are so many things I can be grateful and thankful for every day but so often life gets in the way and I don't take the time to recognize them!. I think a journal by my bed will be a great way to settle my mind down and reflect on the day just completed. No matter what life throws at me, I will take a few minutes every day to count my blessings!emoticon

I love this! Such a great idea.

I will be increasing my water intake and staying hydrated! I've always had a problem with not drinking enough water. I've been much better lately, but could still always improve.

I love this! I am ditching any processed foods, Chips, cliff bars, anything in a bag really! Cooking all my meals!

This challenge sounds like an excellent idea, I'm in! I will go meatless on Fridays and increase my fruits/vegetables by one each day.

I'm currently doing a 30 day challenge and am going to continue for as long as it takes. Very excited to be on this journey. I'm seeing results in just 1 wk so onward and upward.emoticon

I'm really going to try to give up negative talk about others. This was my New Year's resolution but it didn't last too long. I want to be a better person all around not just physically.

I'm going to follow The list you have above, because there are some things listed that I laps on at least once a week and I know they hurt my workout results. I'm also going to start drinking more water(I don't nearly drink enough), and substitute sugar for stevia.

I already gave up soda. I am going to go without meat one a day a week and not let people bring me down. Get rid of the negativity. Just be the best I can be. emoticon

Sounds like a great idea! I am going to give it a shot. My wife does a great job of giving up something, I am going to lose the sodas and alchohol and the negative self talk sounds challenging. I am the worst at beating myself up.

I'm just starting out with my program. I'm starting with P90X lean & trying to compliment it with Tai Cheng & swimming during my lunch hour. I'm also trying to adhere to the meals in "My Meal Planner." My motivation are my 4 sons. I want to strive to be healthier for them.

I've started my first challenge group in January and one of the changes I've already noticed is group encouragement and support. Our group has to post about the workout we do that day and all of us have positive comments for each other whether it's pertaining to the group challenge or something personal going on. I'm going to go meatless one day a week too. Thanks for all the ideas they are great! =)

Okay, I am in. Over the next 40 days, I will try to drink more water and not talk negative about anyone. I also will give up the negative thoughts about myself. This will be harder for me than not talking about others. Giving up meat is not a problem, I would rather have beans any day.

I really like the idea of a gratitude journal. I will also do that for the next 40 days. Life does get in the way and often I forget all the things I have to be grateful for.

This is great! I'm going to ditch eating meat every day and i'm going to try getting 8 hours of sleep a night and waking up early enough to make myself a healthy/high protein breakfast in the morning while still being on time to work! emoticon
