A few points before we get started

Nutrition

• If you want to see great results, you have to focus on your nutrition as much as the workouts. Nutrition plays a key role in how you will reach your goals and attain the new and better you! Be prepared by getting a solid nutrition plan in place prior to starting. You can do this week-to-week or even plan out your entire month. Over time you will learn new eating habits that you can carry with you for the rest of your life.

Shakeology is a great way to meet all of your nutritional needs! As a meal or a snack it fuels your body with everything it needs in order to BRING IT every day!
Track your progress
Where are you now? Where do you want to be? Have Goals!

• Nothing is more important or motivating than to see where you started and how you are progressing along the way! It is so CRUCIAL that you do the following BEFORE you begin:

• Take your Measurements

• Take your before & after pictures

• Take the fit test

I can’t tell you how many people told us that they were so mad at themselves for not doing this before they started.
Beachbody provides worksheets for you to print out for each resistance workout, since you don’t receive any with the program. It is crucial to keep track of your progress from Day 1 to Day 90. I personally print out enough for the program duration and keep a dedicated binder that has these worksheets, my fit test results, and even a before picture on the front to keep me motivated. Even if you do not see progress on the scale, progress in each workout is the real indicator. Beachbody also has the full P90X calendar in case you lose yours, or you want to check off the days as you go and keep the original.

Utilize the tools that TBB provides. Complete your profile, and track your measurements and weight online. I use MyFitnessPal online to track my food diary as well as my calories burned each day. I would highly recommend signing up and add me as a buddy. My id is coachlittlebear. MFP also has apps for iPhone, Andriod, and Blackberry.

Pre-Workout

• These workouts are intense! The right fuel will help your body “Bring It!” with the intensity you need! If you eat a pre-workout meal, is very important to wait about an hour before you work out. Eat too soon and you could end up losing the meal instead of bringing the intensity!

• If you workout first thing in the morning like I do you might want to skip eating and take a pre-fuel 15 minutes prior to working out. I drink Beachbody’s Energy & Endurance formula prior to working out. It gives me all the energy I need to complete the toughest workouts (even Plyometrics).

Post-Workout

Keep in mind the first week is exceptionally rough! Expect to be sore and tired: Do not give up! Your body will adapt quickly and in no time you will start seeing some crazy results. You may want to do a few non-P90X workouts prior to starting just to get your body & mind ready.

• Recovery: After an intense P90X workout, it is vital to recover the right way. I cannot stress enough how important this is. By adding a recovery drink immediately after your workout, you will significantly decrease the amount of soreness you will experience while your body recovers. Intense exercise will burn off glycogen stores in the muscles which leaves the body without its primary source of energy. The longer you are in this state, the greater the chances your body will panic and may actually breakdown your existing muscle to create more glycogen—the exact opposite of what we are working for! Plus low blood sugar levels in the brain will lead to fatigue, irritability, lack of concentration, depression, etc. The P90X Recovery Drink will replenish your muscles with glycogen, you will not only avoid muscle breakdown, but you will promote muscle growth and keep your energy levels up. The P90X Recovery Drink is a great product and I highly recommend it.

• Accountability: Post your accountability DAILY on the message boards! This is the key to staying motivated. Here is an interesting statistic I’ve noticed over the past couple of threads I’ve been in. Out of all the people who join the thread and commit to the workouts, less than 20% will complete the full 90 day program! But what I found is, of those of post every day they are 90% likely to complete the program and transform their lives.
The message boards and forums are a great way to meet others that are going through exactly what you are and it helps stay accountable and motivated! Your forum buddies will have tips and information that has helped them and could help you as well. You will be doing the same in no time!

So are you ready to get started? First step, post your commitment to join the team, and second, add me as a buddy and I'll give you more important information. I look forward to getting to know you and seeing the new you!

Come on, X me, BRING IT!!!

Boy, these words ring so true. Remember "you can't take before pictures later". Since I started the programs I've been active on several threads and I know I would not have stuck to it without the daily contact with everyone else!

great point CoachJohn! Folks sometimes get disappointed later when they 'forgot' to take the pictures and then see great results...

Hey Mike,

I still regret not having more "before" pictures. I have to on my computer that are both poor quality.

I was always afraid. I hated having my picture taken, and I thought "who the hell cares anyway?"

Now I know why.

My very first adventure into Beachbody I did not do a Fit Test, and I did not do initial measurements. I have a good idea of what I lost because I remember exactly how things fit...or didn't fit.

Every time I start a new round now, I make sure I take measurements, do the Fit Test, and keep track of absolutely everything.

I can't wait to start this next round, but I don't know if I'm going to be doing P90X or X2 yet. I think I might do original P90X, because I'm buying PowerBlock weights soon, and I have a larger range of weights that I will use with original X than with X2.

Hey everyone,

I can't wait until tomorrow, I am going to be starting a full round of P90X2! It is just what I need right now, and with my new addition of PowerBlock dumbbells, it will be a breeze! I can't wait to receive them in the mail, as I have been dealing with adjustable dumbbells with plates and star screws on threaded bars...a real pain when doing almost any workouts.

I want to start today! But I still have a lingering cough from having caught a virus or a flu this last week.

Keep Bringing It!

Your right about being only one workout away from being in a good mood! I use to stress all the time about my health but stopped worrying about it once I got myself back under control. Nothing a little Insanity can't cure!

Actually John, I get irritable when I can't work out or forget to. Plus I have no energy.

Working out has definitely become my drug of choice. I can't wait to get started tomorrow with X2 Core!

Wow....That workout was CRAZY!!!

I haven't done anything from X2 since November, and man did that work my core! I got a great workout, and finished more than I ever have during previous attempts! Progress is always an amazing thing to see.

Burned 900 calories, and I feel fantastic! I definitely wouldn't recommend working out with a lingering cough....but I was really starting to go crazy!!

Hope everyone else is pushing play out there in X/X2 Land!

Tuesday Tuesday Tuesday!! Time for some PLYOCIDE! Death by jumping!

I expect to make it through this workout covered in sweat, without a hitch. I used to have problems with this video and having to keep pausing it, but I'm sure my time spent in The Asylum has helped me with that immensely.

Time to BRING IT!

-Coach Littlebear

Food for thought...though I think the soreness is so much a part of me now that I don't even notice anymore.

Who is gonna be sorry tomorrow, and who is gonna be sore?

Well I made it through without any problems. Two days of workouts making me cough up the last of this illness, and both yesterday and today I am breathing better and coughing less after the workout. Just goes to show, if you don't have a fever, a headache, or a bad sore throat, then just suck it up and work out! Of course, it's wise to consult a doctor first...but for me, I just tone back the intensity a bit to try to keep from overtaxing my body, because I don't want my body to be working on fighting illness and having to repair severely damaged muscles. Getting your heart rate up and sweating a bit is good enough.

Again, don't discount the advice of a medical professional, as I am only speaking from personal experience.

Well I burned over 1000 calories, completed a higher percentage of each move than I ever recall completing, and I feel fantastic! "It should be called Plyo-LIFE" as Tony says!

KPP and keep bringin' it!

It was DELICIOUS! And ringing in at under 500 calories, it's a fantastic start. I was stuffed before I even finished...but there wasn't enough to justify leftovers =P

@CoachMikeMJM - That's fantastic! Max HR 182 is impressive, I have a really really hard time getting up that high anymore, and I haven't seen an average over 155 in months! I'm definitely going to give Combat a shot after I get done with X2, it sounds awesome =D
