Really having trouble getting up to 4000 calories
Okay so I'm currently doing P90X week 8, but I'm cutting out all cardio besides AB Ripper twice a week anyway I'm 5 ft 1 and lost way too much weight during Insanity, I'm struggling someday's to get up to 3000 calories, I eat healthy everyday and drink nothing but water, I do put milk with my oatmeal when I eat it which at leat twice a week.

I'm currently 99.0 when I began I was 93.8 I believe anyway my doctor said to gain 15 to 20 pounds I haven't been able to eat a lot in the last few days because my back tooth has been hurting.

I started doing my workout at night like just started I usually workout at 7pm and eat dinner around 5 pm I'm 19 and still living with my parents I previously did my workout in the morning but notice I have a lot more energy at night after a workout I will usually have some fruit and a granola bar.

I've seen muscle in my arms and some in my stomach is cut beyond belief I'm still in shock and it is all thanks to Insanity and P90X but I know if I want real muscle mass I'm going to need to up my calories I just order Insanity the asylum volume 1 but don't plan on starting it until after P90X I know I will need to get up to 4000 calories everyday so I don't lose a lot of weight. During asylum

I've done P90X faithfully but can't get myself to 4000 calories there are days I can't get to 3000 most days I do get up to 3000 calories I try to go beyond that I try not to eat when I'm not hungry but sometime it is hard I eat very healthy

Any suggestions please I had a heart transplant at 13 days old and really want to gain muscle any tips? Thanks god bless

Here is what I eat I usually on a daily basis

Breakfast one cup of Old fashion rolled oats a cup of milk in the oats two or four pieces of wheat toast.

Lunch two boneless skinless chicken breast with spinach leaves a little bit of hidden valley ranch or a russet potato

Dinner usually the same as lunch.

Snacks can be different from seeds to fruit I eat a lot of bananas

I'm trying to eat more everyday just find it difficult any suggestions I try to which up everyday I eat steak 3 times. A week if on sale sometimes any suggestions?

Hi Andrew,

If you want to Bulk up don't do Asylum, Do Body Beast! I wouldn't shoot at 4,000 calories, that's a lot and not needed for you size, with 2,500 to 3,000 is more than enough.

The ratios you need are 30/60/10 / That is proteins/carbs/fat.

I'm attaching a sample 3000 calories plan. You might get some ideas from here.

Andrew, if you want to gain weight Asylum is not going to help you, as it's all cardio. It will help you get shredded, but if you try eating that much you won't get shredded. Try 2,000 calories and Asylum, or do P90X again with heavier weights.
