Starting Insanity on Feb. 11.

I'm starting the INSANITY program on Monday February 11th. Since I work the graveyard shift, I plan on doing my workout when I get home in the morning. I want to complete this program to be more fit and healthy.

That's awesome that you're starting Insanity! What's your fitness background like? Were you doing some exercises beforehand?

I am starting too! I just did the fit test today, and boy was it brutal. I had to take a long break in the middle, and I even vomited afterwards :/ However, I am not giving up just yet. I can only go up from here!

I started today too and I have never done anything like this before. I couldn't believe how out of shape I was...lol by the time I was 10 mins through the warm up, I was sweating... A LOT. after the fit test I was DRENCHED. but it was awesome. every bit of it. Good Luck to everyone.

YEAH CONGRATS!! TODAY IS THE DAY!

So it is time, today is day 1! Let's gooooooo!

So who has done the fit test yet? How did you do? Was it everything you expected? Worse? Better?

It is so worth it you guys? This program is hard, tough, will make you swear and scream at the TV but it so worth it so DON'T GIVE UP!

Let's hear how it was! I want to know how day 1 went ok?

I have not been very active over the past 10 years. I had tried Insanity about 5 months ago, but decided I wasn't ready for it after the first week because of my lack of prior exercise, flexibility, motivation.

Since then, I have been exercising more by walking and stretching. I have cut down on the fast food and sodas by eating more at home and drinking water.

That is fantastic! You will notice that your nutrition is a key player here. It will do amazing things for you as you have probably seen. That is what helped me immensely. I used to weigh 220lbs (I'm 5'4") and got down to 118lbs at my lowest. It was all part of how I ate. Fast food, soda, all the garbage. When I cut the crap, literally, it changed me. When I added in exercise it was amazing. You will do GREAT!!! Can't wait to hear how day 1 goes for you.

Hey!!

Congrats to you too! It isn't necessarily harder but different. They aren't even comparable. If you are a weight lifting type person then you may find this harder but if you are a cardio person than you may find P90X harder. It really depends on YOU! Honestly though, it doesn't matter. No matter who you are you can get through this program because it is all IN YOUR HEAD! It is all about mindset!

I'm starting today. Before pictures taken, measurements taken. Fit test complete. Now I'm off for a run!

Fit Test Results:

Switch Kicks: 48 (or 96 if you count each kick)
Power Jacks: 52
Power Knees: 81
Power Jumps: 34
Globe Jumps: 7
Suicide Jumps: 13
Push-Up Jacks: 15 (I have weak wrists so these are tough)
Low Plank Obliques: 26 (or 52 if you count each side as 1)

I did this last year too (Jan 16 to be exact) and was looking at my sheet. I haven't been in the gym consistently in 3 months but I still did better than I did when I started last year.

I also started today. I just finished up a TurboFire/Chalean Extreme hybrid last week Thursday and I must say this was definitely stepping it up a notch. I was pooped after that fit test. I utilize a bodybugg and I burned more calories in that 25 min than I did during a few of the 45 min TurboFire dvds. I'm looking forward to the next 60 days!

What's up everyone!

Gosh this group is gonna kick some serious butt! I love it already. I want to get Insanity certified in June so I figure I'm gonna start now and get myself is some serious shape between now and then. I've done a couple rounds already but I always improve. You will be so amazed at how your fit test results keep getting better, it is amazing.

Don't weigh yourself throughout this program, it is not a good idea. Instead, take your measurements. I weighed myself first time around and was discouraged in month 1. Month 2 is when it all kicks in.

Who is following the nutrition plan?

I am going to follow the principles of the p90x nutrition plan(available online if you're interested) while trying to mix in the recipies from Insanity. I find the p90x system easier to understand because it breaks down how much of each type of food you should eat.

It sounds like there is a group here to help keep me motivated! I changed jobs 5 years ago and moved 550 miles which changed my lifestyle. I gained about 40# in no time flat. It is time to fix that and get control of things again. Did my first work out an hour ago then took forever trying to figure out how to schedule and post and all this stuff!

Welcome!! This group is looking to be really awesome. I love all the motivation and support here. I just did Les Mills Combat with a buddy here at work but he said he wants to do Insanity tomorrow so I'll let you all know how it goes. Even though I've done it before he has not and he said he wants to get his butt kicked so hey, this is the way to do it right? I told him we'd do it tomorrow and he's up for it. Should be fun.

I am doing Insanity too. Restarted on Feb 11th to get my schedule reset to have the rest day fall on my busiest work day. So far - since Feb 1 - I have lost 6 pounds. I am following the meal plan but lowered my calorie intake to account for my not being able to complete the entire video without stopping.

Love it!!!! So far so good.

Hard to do this by myself though with everyone around me eating tons of junk food. emoticon
