LOVED your diet book and recipes! But. its just me. I wouldnt cook like that unless i had company. That would impress any chick, for sure. total chick food. I dont eat much meat. Trying to lower alot of things. Beans, rice, pasta,veggies, and protien shakes. Counting calories, and grams of protien. How much protien do i need a day in my diet? Grams? I can do the math looking up info on the side of the package.Recipes state total grams of each food group. Can you give me a breakdown on how much, in grams i need from each? Level II i think is where i'm at and just starting this.Many thanks! Tom

Wow that was quick! Thanks Alberto! I'm 54, 6'5", and have dropped my weight to 180, from 240. Just want to get in shape, and look good on a beach. I eat simple.figure id get the bulk of my protien from shakes, what i dont get from eating meat.

I would consider adding in quinoa and some good fats as well- flaxseed, avocado, etc

dropping the weight has shown improvment in the heart. Lowering cholesterol dramatically. i'll be taking BP/ and heart rates after every set.Am on Metopol which is supposed to relax my heart and keep it from over exerting. If it gets over 120bpm i'll call it quits. using common sence, if it hurts, or is too much i'll stop, or back it down. slow progress until my system adapts. on my last cigaretts now..... starting with that is a great start. but Thanks!

Getting started. Things piled up here in this little house. Tools, and lumber trying to finish the cabin. Its been overwhelming to say the least, working in a small space youre living in at the same time.Always stepping over stuff, sawdust, ect. Will have it finished by weeks end and will start on this Monday. Hell or high water. So much to get done, my health should be more important. Thanks Alberto for your checking in on me the other day. Kind of a kick start i needed to get on with this.

You may have heard about this site before but myfitnesspal is a great key to tell you how many calories and how many grams of carbs/fat/protein you need. It's also really easy to track as well.

I also use my fitness pal. I think more than anything my biggest problem is simply being aware of what I am eating and MFP is great for personal accountability.

Hi!!

I've read your profile and I just want to say how awesome I think it is that you are focused on changing your health! I'm a pharmacist so of course I'm concerned about the health of your heart. These workouts are very intense even if you modify the exercises. An EF of less than 35% increases the risk of life- threatening irregular heartbeats that can cause sudden cardiac arrest (loss of heart function) and sudden cardiac death. Please please please follow up with your cardiologist before getting started. Get his advise and OK to start. If you have any questions for me let me know.
