Preface: I know there are more threads for accountability, and while I made this for myself, I do welcome company!!!

Basically, I have tried many many Beachbody programs, started with Power 90, then Slim in 6, then Turbo Jam, Insanity, Turbofire, P90x, hybrid of this, hybrid of that, and I just never stuck with it.

I have gone from 320 lbs to 220 lbs, and back up to 290 here in December of 2012. That was the breaking point.

I started to do my own Turbo Jam / Power 90 Hybrid. It did well, got me 15 lbs. down, so now I'm 275 lbs.

I'm sick. Physically. Emotionally. I am a hospice nurse aide, so I need to be in peak shape physically, and emotionally.

I did my first workout with Pump today. My legs were jello, had to do non-weight modified during lunges (i realized i have a habit of locking my knees, so my quads are horribly weak!) however I feel good about the program as a whole!!

Let's pray that I make it through and stick with the program!

I started LMP last week, pump and burn was today's workout...I'm loving it so far....I completed insanity in October, and was feeling great, but kind of fell off the wagon and gained 20 pounds since then. I had been wanting this workout but was to cheap to buy it, but bought a couple other workouts that beacbody had on sale. I didn't even try them, I wanted this one, so for my 36th birthday, I bought it.

Accountability Day 2
2/12/13

Wow, do my quads hurt after yesterday. Gonna have to do a good bit of walking to get the soreness out. Good thing it's a rest day, I don't think I could do singles squats if I was given a million dollars, lol!

Accountability Day 3
2/13/13

Pump Challenge is today! While my quads were like "please sir, why are you doing this again?" my brain was like "shut up and do it, you'll feel better!"

So, I did!

Felt some more muscles working that were probably working on Day 1, I just didn't feel the bit of soreness. The quads did well, still had to do modified lunges, but they'll be better in time! I figure, if my body weight is 275, and I'm lunging without weights, I'm still lunging 275 lbs of resistance, LOL! (if we wanted to be technical, probably not 275, but still a heck of a lot that I'm lunging!) I can do squats just fine...those lunges just are beastly!

Love, love, LOVE Clean and Press!! Just too much fun :-D

Gonna enjoy Yoga and Walk/Run tomorrow. Might do a gentle jog, or just take the pup out for a walk!!

Day 3 in the bag

Going from 211º to 212º. (If you know what I mean by that, good!)

Hey there PapaMills!
Firstly, I want you to know how much admiration I have for people in the hospice industry and kudos to you for doing what you do! Fortunately I have never been involved with hospice before up until several months ago with my Mother and we were soooo on the fence about in- home hospice, but it was one of THE best decisions we made! I have never known such caring and compassionate people as the nurses/aides we dealt with! I'm sure they're not all that way, but they were a 100% Godsend for us! So good for you!!

Congrats on getting and starting LMP! I am on week 6 of a LMP/Turbofire hybrid and love both of these programs! I've recently completed a hybrid of P90X/Insanity as well, but I am liking this hybrid of Pump and Turbofire much better emoticon Just wait until you experience Pump Extreme and Pump Revolution! OMG talk about burning legs!! Over 800 reps in those workouts emoticon

I hope you will stick with this program and follow through this time. Do you have a support system? It's so much easier to push harder and stay focused when you have people to hold you accountable! I have a private support group on facebook and I'd love it if you would join us! Send me a friend request if you're interested! https://www.facebook.com/cpierson731
Even if you dont want to join the group, I loving having friends into fitness!

Stay strong and keep your head in the game! Hope to hear from you emoticon

This is good. I like how you are reporting every day and also how you feel on the off days.

Illness has delayed my start with Pump, but in a few days I'll join you. I am expecting as much and probably even more soreness than you're having, as my leg muscles are, well, almost non-existent. Lol. It's inspiring to see someone push through the pain by making whatever adjustments are necessary to do so. Good job!

Cyndi!!!

Thanks for all the warm words of encouragement and support!! I truly believe I can stick through this program because I really enjoy the weight aspect of it!! I might supplement with some Turbofire or Turbo Jam just depending on my feeling for the cardio day! Thanks for the invite to your team too on Facebook! I may have to pop in and see what's going on emoticon. It's always nice to make new friends. I have a terrific support team in my Beachbody Coach on here too, and no one can have too many friends!! :-D

I sincerely hope you drop by some more, love seeing people here talking! That's what the message boards are all about!

Cya later! :-D

Cheryl!!!

Thanks for stopping in to say hi!! I love reporting in and while I might not be able to do it every single day, I will definitely catch back up when I fall behind!!

I am so sorry to hear about you being sick. Take the time you need to get better and that way you can go at LMP 100%. My problem in the past has been to give it 150% on the first day and then injure myself, or go to exhaustion. I know now to modify, modify, modify because the most important thing is to be able to come back the next day!!

I hope to see you around the thread some more!! Love it!!

Brian!!

Good to see you here man! If we're on the same schedule, then feel free to come in here and keep accountable with me my friend! Half the battle is indeed showing up, consistency is what brings results (both good and bad). Since I was consistent with bad choices in life, I reached a max of 320 lbs, but I was consistent and it brought about results! Now, I'm going to enjoy consistency of good choices!!

Keep up the good work man, and I hope to see you around the thread!

Blancanyc69!!

Thanks so much for stopping in to talk! That's awesome emoticon I sure hope I'll be adding more weights, I know I'll pace myself with it though! Last time I tried out P90X I took on more weight than my triceps could handle, and tore my right one. I'm definitely going to make it through 90 days of LMP though!! Believe it!

Hope to see you around!!

Accountability Day 4
2/14/14 (Valentines Day)

Up for today's schedule, Flow and Walk 45.

I am going to substitute Walk 45 for either a Turbo Jam or Turbofire cardio workout.

It has Flow coming before the workout, but I'm going to do it after since I assume Flow is Yoga based, and will be more receptive to elongating muscles if I am warm.

Okay, so I did my cardio and flow workout, in that order. Here's my realizations.

1) I did Turbofire "Fire 30" and I use the term "did" loosely. Let's say that, after about 16 minutes, my form was bad, I was stumbling, out of breath, and that was after I was taking mini-breaks to try to recover. The good part about it is that my Bodymedia device was off the charts for activity and calorie burn for that bit. emoticon So, yay! I did more than the people that sat on the couch today!

2) Les Mills Flow. Okay, I am going to be honest. I like yoga. I did NOT like dude in the beginning going so fast that you couldn't keep up with him. Those poses have you not looking at the TV, and he wasn't exactly as clear as I'd like someone to be with directions when you're not looking at the screen. After we got to the point where we went to Warrior 2, etc. it was fine...so just almost 8 minutes in though...I was angry up until then. Then it went fine. My hip flexor was trying to cramp afterwards, but I think I got it taken care of with some basic stretching afterwards.

Day 4, in the bag!

This description of you doing Fire 30 kills me. Lol. As you said, what matters is that awesome calorie burn. Good job!

Chalene is one of my favorites so I know I also will be using her on some of those 'walk' days for cardio. As a reward for finishing the first month, I want to get the three extra DVDs for LMP and would love to use the Step workout for cardio, though I hear it's killer. That's okay. Something to work up to!

Congrats on completing day four and thanks so much for the update!

Cheryl! Welcome back! emoticon

I am nothing if honest and literal. I may have to revert to Turbo Jam just so I can do a full cardio workout without completely falling apart! It saddens me a bit to know that I could do Fire 30 multiple times a week in 2010...but I am far out of shape for it right now. It did help me get through the day though, regardless. I saw a lower number on the scale and while it was only 0.4 of a pound, it broke me through a frustrating plateau that I had been sitting at for a while. I do love Chalene, although I might try some Kenpo X or going for a run, just to keep the variety going.

I hope you're feeling better!! I have considered getting the extra DVD's as well, I may have to hold off though, maybe it'll be my treat for getting out of the first 90 days. emoticon

Cya!

Accountability Day 5
2/15/13

My old friend, Pump Challenge, comes up today!! Right now I'm making a DELICIOUS Salmon lunch marinated in a delicious sauce, drizzled with a warm spicy sauce over top with sesame seeds over a bed of brown rice. Once lunch settles, I will be saying hello to Les Mills Pump Challenge, woot woot!!

Update! Les Mills Challenge is in the bag for today!! Feeling new muscles in my back and shoulders, and my quads still hate me. They're so mother-effin weak! Together they can do squats fine...it's those lunges...they fatigue quickly during them. It's like they forget how to stand, lol!! Oh well, I'll get better. As Tony Horton says, "Don't say I can't, say 'I presently struggle with.'" and when you do that, you realize you're a work in progress!

Let's go!! So excited! Ready for tomorrow!

Going from 211º to 212º.

Hi PapaMills.

You have a great attitude and love the honesty!

It can be intimidating for me at times to come to the boards because I'm SO out of shape even though I'm not technically overweight. When I read about you having trouble getting through lunges or maybe having to do TurboJam instead of Fire it makes me feel a little less out of place! My legs are my weakest body part and I already know it will be quite some time before I can get through a squat/lunge routine. Sometimes even just from extra squatting doing things around the house I can feel it the next day. emoticon

Day #1 for me will be Sunday. Looking forward to the pain!

Were you able to do more lunges today than you did on day #1? Are you tracking at all?

Cheryl emoticon

I remember my first days of starting to workout when I was at my maximum of 320 lbs. I was not able to purchase any Beachbody programs, but was in college and went to the rec center. Do you know the looks you get when you're that big and plant yourself on a treadmill, then go play racquetball with a friend? This board is so inviting, please come by anytime for a great support system!!

I love being honest with everyone on here. We all started at different places, and just remember that when you're struggling, that you're still there doing the workout!! You're only good at the things you do often!!

I was able to do more lunges, and started without modification, but with 0 weight on the barbell. I had to resume modification a bit into it, which is fine. I might see if I can come up with a modified movement that can let me isolate the same muscle group and be able to get the same burn. It's only one move, so if I can't do it, I don't let it get to me too badly.

Remember to know the difference between "sore" and "pain" during your workout. Thankfully so far I've only felt sore so far, but there's been sometimes that I was in pain and had injured myself, and pushed the next few days and injured myself even more. Make sure every day you finish so you can come back the next!!

Can't wait to hear back on how you do!!

Accountability Day 6
2/16/13

Here's the true test of will. Hardcore Abs and Walk 45 (Turbo Jam)

I'm going to need to do this before I go to work for 12 hours.

So, here's the update!
Did Turbo Jam today (much better pacing!) and did "20 minute workout". Good cardio! Think that might be a wonderful substitute for walking (even though it was 45 minutes for walking, I'll be getting in a 2nd dose of cardio at work, lol)

Hardcore Abs. Not exactly loving it. It's like flow. It went too fast, not enough instruction, and I'm not exactly digging the exercises. Not saying some didn't work...had my upper left abdominal cramp, so I know it works. But I'd rather something like "Slim & 6-pack" or "Ab-Ripper 200" or something like that. My abdominal muscles are not in the shape these folks are, and I think this was meant for someone further along in their fitness goals than I am. I'm still digging LMP, but I'm loving more of the barbell exercises and less of the "supplemental" workouts just because of their design.

Needless to say, I did the work, it's in for today. Now to sleep a bit so I can stay up till about 7:45am tomorrow. Oy!

Get it!

I worked on the computer all day doing bills, taxes and some website maintenance
Oh and dont forget I also pigged out today.. I noshed a big cupcake... was soo stinking hungry... Back on track tomorrow.

Wow- you all seem to own the beach body library. Think I'll troll craigslist to get some more in my library.

Keep up the good work and enjoy the day off tomorrow
