Elite Trans4Mation - Body Beast Accountability
Starting Body Beast for the first time today. Decided to make this thread to keep me accountable, and hopefully help others along the way. Please feel free to post and participate in here as well.

The difference for me with this program will be, yes I want to tone up, but lose body fat. I am currently at about 24% @ 185 lbs. By reading of the other threads on these boards, others seems to be in the same situation as I am, and wondering if Body Beast is right for them. Well I will be the Guinea Pig and try it out and hope for some good results, so others can decide what is right for them.

A little about me...

My whole life I have been struggling with my weight. I might lose a few pounds, only to gain it back a few months later. I would workout, but never stuck to a schedule. I never knew what good nutrition was until I started P90X in January 2012.

My first round of P90X, I started at 272 lbs and got down to about 232. I lowered my calories way down to 1900 at this time. A lot lower than I should of, but I was more concerned about weight than anything else. During this time, I also started utilizing Shakeology, and have been ever since. I did take a week off due to being sick, but just redid that week to make up for it.

After a week off and a few more pounds down, I started Insanity in April 2012. Went from 228 to about 213. The first month I struggled, not necessarly to complete the workouts, but with nutrition. I was use to the 1900 calories, and it just wouldn’t fly with Insanity. Over the last few weeks of Insanity, my calories were up to 2900, and that is when I saw the greatest results. You can see more about my tips with Insanity here:

Insanity Experience

I did end up losing a lot of fat towards the end, about 15 inches total.
Took a few more much needed weeks off and started a P90X/Insanity hybrid at 208 lbs in early July 2012, and finished at about 192 lbs.

I just finished a P90X/P90X+ hybrid last week. Went down to 182.8 lbs, giving me a total of 90 lbs lost! I am pretty much at my ideal weight now, but looking to tone up, gain some muscle. I also wanted something new, something fresh. I enjoy resistance workouts, so here I am, starting Body Beast, hoping for the best results I can possibly achieve!

Here is my January 2012 picture at 272.8 lbs, and my most recent picture, from last week, after my P90X/P90X+ hybrid. 13 months of hard work. still have a ways to go, but definitely on the right track!

Finished Day 1 yesterday, Build: Chest/Tris. Because I was starting out, wasn't sure what weights to use. I wrote everything down and made notes what I need to increase, and what can stay at what it is for now. I can still feel a good burn in my arms, but know I can do better (I am sure most of the first week will be trial/error/a lot of pausing).

One thing I am not sure about is the recovery drink. I am making it with 1 scoop base shake, 1 scoop fuel shot, 5g creatine, and 3/4 cup 100% apple juice. But because I eat mostly during the day, the recovery drink is the last thing I have, then I am done for the day (I work out about 6:30 in the evening). Kinda feel like I should have some real food after a workout, but we will see how this goes for now.

Build: Legs tonight. I have a feeling I will be feeling that one tomorrow!

Had Build: Legs last night, I can tell why everyone dreads this workout, but loves it at the same time. I am feeling it today, but once again, because it is somewhat of a trial and error week, there are a few workouts where I needed to increase my weight for next time.

Build: Back/Bis are tonight, looking forward to it!

Build: Back/Bis were last night. At the beginning my weight should have been heavier, but after I started going heavier, so I can feel the after effects today. Have Beast Cardio and Abs later tonight. What are people's opinions about the BB cardio?

Friday was Beast Cardio and Abs. Wasn't sure what to expect. Cardio still incorporates weights, which I like. Abs does too. Overall still burned 500 calories within the 40 minutes so I can't complain!

Yesterday was Shoulders. Tough workout no doubt! The first week is over, so now since I know what weights to use, I can up it a notch next week!

Today is really my rest day, but I need Mondays to be my rest day because I bowl on Mondays. So I might workout today and rest tomorrow. Though I am bowling today as well, but will be easier to fit in the schedule.

WHATEVER IT TAKES!

Sorry guys - been MIA for a few days, still doing the workouts every day. Monday I made my rest day, but ended up bowling so I was still moving around a bit.

Tuesday was Legs day. I need to heavy up the weights a bit. I felt it, but not as much as I thought I would. I used my HRM which said I burned about 400 calories, I know some will be burned after, but still think some of the exercises I finished easily enough so I will be using a little more weight.

Wednesday was Back and Bis, felt it but again think I need, on a few of the exercises, to heavy up the weights a bit more...not too much was to failure, some was. So I will experiment with that.

Yesterday was Beast Cardio and Abs. Between those 2 burned about 500 cals, heart rate was at a good place, felt like I got a good workout there.

My weight has pretty much stayed put in the 183.8-184.8 for the last week. Calories have been about 2650, so I might need to raise that a little. I will try this out another week and possibly raise them a few hundred and see what that does. All a learning experience!
