Are you diabetic? Do you have athletes foot? I am no doctor but your description could match either condition. Be smart and go see a doc.

Yes my feet have always hurt during working out but not to the point where I have to stop. During insanity I make it through the first warm up and was yelling in pain took my shoes off and they still hurt but no where near as bad. This is why at first I assumed it was my shoes so Ibought new ones. I have hard wood floors but I am mostly on the jump mat

I'm in the same boat! My feet fatigue and start burning way before the rest of my body. I have plantar fasciitis in one of my feet but it's not the heel necessarily that hurts. It seems to be the mid muscle in both feet that start burning. I keep thinking that the muscles need to get stronger but good grief they should be trained by now! I also have flat feet and have shelled out a lot for stability shoes to no avail. Curious if anyone other than us has this problem emoticon

Hi Soak,

It sounds to me like you might have plantar fasciitis. This is a common problem with those that have increased pronation due to flat feet. This is a common cause of heel pain, usually in the heel region and you'll notice it when you first get out of bed in the morning. This is an overuse injury can be be related to a sudden increase in exercise ( running, walking, standing for long periods of time)

The best cure for foot problems is a new pair of shoes. I'm not sure how long you have had the shoes, but you might need to give it a few days. If they don't seem to do the trick, take them back and find a running store that can help you be looking at your feet for pronation,etc... and then fitting you for correct shoe.

Stretches - Stretch the fascia by pulling back on the toes....this should be pain free and performed several times a day and most effective after your whole body is warmed up. I would also incorporate calf stretches. These will strengthen the musculotendinous structures of the foot and improve proprioception. Do heel raises. To strengthen the toe flexors and intrinsic muscles of the foot by performing towel crunches and marble pick ups

These tips should help you. If you need further assistance, feel free to reach out to me.

If barefoot works for you then look into a pair of the "barefoot" shoes like Vibram 5-Fingers. However, if you have Plantar Fasciitis like Jeff suggests above, it's not a good idea to go without arch support.

You might also want to invest in some thicker mats for your floor. And, finally, consider the shoes you're wearing when you're NOT working out. If you're spending 8 hours a day in stilletos and then working out, it might not be the workout shoes that need a change.

I had the same issue the first few weeks so I slowed down the reps to try and see what was going on. What I found out was that I was landing on the ball of my foot but never actually landing and taking the time to get my whole foot on the ground. I slowed down to allow to land correctly and the pain went away then slowly was able to build up the strength and got through the workouts without to pain in the feet. Take a minute to really pay attention to how you are landing it may be the key.

Actually for me the pain is more towards the front of my feet no pain in the heel which is odd because I had my right heel come out of place when I was younger but nope no pain there. It hurts so bad I really dont know what else to do . My feet are wide and flat (I know im cursed) which is why I bought these expensive shoes that are supposed to help this problem but they still dont help . Ive tried tightening the laces, loosening them ..... just everything but nothing helps. emoticon

Hi. I had the same problem for a couple weeks. I was wearing running shoes. When I switched to cross trainers, the fire feet went away. I've also tried basketball shoes, which are good too but heavier. I think the problem with running shoes is that they are so light that they don't provide enough side-to-side support like firmer shoes do. This causes the feet to do a lot of work, vice the legs. Don't know if that will help you or not, but hope it does.
