increased hunger??
increased hunger??
2/13/13 5:50 PM
Hi, I just started shakeology and I'm on my second day.
I drank it instead of my dinner and I've been having much more craving for food.
When I woke up in the morning I felt like I would eat anything and also the digestion is faster than usual. I come back home from school craving and just everything is so delicious lol
I'm not drinking it because I want to lose weight but because I'm a busy college student eating poorly and not feeling energetic throughout the day. My expectation is to gain more energy and feel healthy, so eating a lot is not too much of my concern. And currently I'm not working out at all, so I thought I would start working out since I began shakeology if that helps me to feel more active.

So my question is why am I craving so much when I'm not even working out and eating my breakfast and lunch right amount? is this normal or what would be causing this?
I'm not sure if it could be a good thing or bad thing. Could it be that my metabolism was poor and the shake is working in my body to produce more energy? Even when I'm writing this I still feel hungry.
any thoughts or suggestion please...?

I've been on Shakeology for the last month...sadly after I run out I can't afford another one but while I am taking it, it takes awhile for your system to feel the effects. Like after the first week of substituting a meal everyday, I felt less cravings, and after two weeks I was more energized. If you have less energy, from what I've experienced it's probably because your not getting enough carbs in your meals because carbs is what gives the body energy. I've been having a bowl of oatmeal in the morning and within an hour, I feel ready to run a marathon but I also do P90X six days a week as well. My advice would be to go with a 10 min trainer program. It's done by Tony Horton who is the same person who does P90X. From what I've saw, it looks like a good program and am going to reccomend to a friend that she try it out to help her lose some weight and eat better and then her and I can do P90X....by that time I should be done with the entire program. I plan on doing all phases. I'm on month two, week 8 right now. I'm not a coaoh or expert but that would be my suggestion but there are people on here who will dive into it alot further then what I did but this may give you something to try for a few days.

Any idea what your total calories are for the day? If you are replacing dinner with Shakeology, it could be that your body simply is not getting enough food. 160 calories is not a lot. There are more calories than that in 1 oz. of nuts. I have no idea what you were eating for dinner before, but it is entirely possible that Shakeology is hundreds of calories less than what your body is used to. If you are not looking to lose weight, but rather to supplement your nutrition and for a boost of energy -- then I would consider it as a supplement, and use it in that manner, instead of trying to replace an entire meal with it.

Sunmin37, Shakeology is better for a first meal, rather than a late night meal. If you want to know what could be causing this, I would ask you what you are eating the rest of the day. If your meals are carbohydrate heavy (breads, rice, pasta, sugars, etc etc) then I would immediately point to this. Let me know what your diet looks like, I feel I can definitely help you out.

I think you are right. I don't know how many calories I eat a day but I started to drink it as a supplement instead of replacement.
Now I don't feel hungry. I guess it could be a temporary reaction to shackeology but the crazy cravings are gone.
