Question about Insanity | Youngster
Hey everyone. I have a question. I'm currently 15 and I started insanity about 3-4 days ago. Now, I'm still in highschool and I don't really have time to eat 5 times a day. For breakfast, I usually eat fruits. For lunch I eat a peanut butter sandwich with 100% whole grain bread with some more fruits and carrots and all that. And when I get home, I usually drink whey protein and whatever my mom cooked, but not a lot of it.
That's another thing. Is it a bad or a good thing that I'm doing weight training right after school and then insanity?
Here's pretty much my schedule everyday for now on school days:
Get up. Eat fruits.
Go to school 7:30-2:10
Weight training 2:30-4:00 (for football)
Get home around 4:30
Rest 30 minutes
Then insanity from 5 to 6 ish

After 4 days, woo damn am I tired. And I'm still looking on here or motivation since I just started insanity and recently joined the website.
Can you guys give me some advices on what I should do? Oh and on Wednesdays, I go straight to insanity, no weight training on Wednesdays.
Should I be doing insanity with the weight training? 4 days of weight training and 6 days of insanity a week? Do you guys think that's too much? Help me out I wanna lose a little weight so I can get faster for football. No one really cared about freshman football, but now it's time for junior varsity or even if I'm lucky, Varsity.

Personally, I think it is too much, but I'm no doc.
You have to get protein in your morning. Fruit won't cut it. Try getting some whey protein powder and make a shake each morning.

I would definitely recommend increasing your calories. With football conditioning and Insanity, you're expending a lot of energy and it doesn't look like you're fueling up properly.

Is there a reason you eat only fruit in the morning? It's better to have a full breakfast: oatmeal, eggs, protein smoothie, Greek yogurt parfait, cottage cheese, whole-wheat toast, banana/apple with nut butter; mix and match some options for a more complete meal.

Your lunch could include more veggies and protein: maybe add a salad with grilled chicken or replace the pb sandwich with turkey. Hummus and raw veggies, cottage cheese, tuna on whole-wheat crackers, and whole-wheat pasta salad all work well too.

You want your diet to consist of lean protein, healthy fats, fruit, veggies, and whole grains. If you're not eating 5 times a day, I'd recommend eating larger meals to ensure you're getting enough calories. Keeping up with weight training and Insanity is a lot, but it can be done, so long as you're fueling properly.

Some meal ideas:
Breakfast:
1 cup (1/2 raw) oatmeal with 1 Tbsp peanut butter and 4-6 scrambled egg whites
Egg/egg white omelet with whatever veggies you like (spinach, broccoli, tomatoes) and 2 slices whole-wheat toast with avocado
Fruit and protein smoothie; handful of nuts
Greek yogurt parfait with berries and whole-grain granola/cereal
Whole-grain cereal with berries; cottage cheese with walnuts

Lunch:
Turkey sandwich on whole-wheat bread, hummus and raw veggies (cucumber/broccoli/carrots/red peppers), fruit
Whole-wheat pasta salad with veggies and canned tuna, handful of nuts
Tuna on whole-wheat crackers, salad, handful of nuts
Big salad with grilled chicken and avocado, 2 slices whole-wheat toast with cottage cheese

Not just in the morning, but throughout the day.
The body builds muscle best with a steady influx of protein. That's why trainers recommend some protein with every meal. Many people can't get enough protein in each meal, and a supplement like protein powder will really help.

I did not just mean in the morning, but all day. And fruit just has no protein.

I'm going to start taking creatine with whey protein. Im pretty much done with insanity month 1, and ive lost only around 4 pounds but im starting to lean up. Im just wondering whens the right time to take both of these at the same day? I was thinking of taking creatine right after weight lifting as a post-workout, and whey protein right after insanity for post-workout. Does this sound around right?..
