Starting Insanity 2/18

So, Im starting insanity on Monday. I just recieved it this past Weds. and did the bonus 20min dvd today and going to continue with it over the weekend. Boy am I concerned Im gonna kill myself! Anybody else start this recently or getting ready to start it? I know Im not in shape and Im getting married this June and looking forward to this series helping to get me in shape so I dont look like a sausage in my dress! emoticon Any encouragement and advice for future sore muscles appreciated!

I've done insanity to help lose baby weight and it's amazing!!! I took a break and am ready to get back at it. This week I did 3 workouts mixed in with some time in the gym. I would like to do the program straight through again.

I did the fitness test today with the boyfriend... Woah! This may kill me. ;-). Here's to a better body! Even at my fittest ( and I am definitely not that anymore) I suffered badly from DOMS. That mixed in with roller derby aches and pains- I was not fun to be around.

I have no deadline to do this, only that I want to start being proud of my body, so as soon as possible would be great. Boyfriend and I are both in here and looking forward to doing this together. I have piled the weight on over the years, plus I fell into a trap of over carbing up and telling myself I could because I was doing so much skating. I finished skating fatter than when I started, and with no confidence at all. So I'm trying again, and will do it all with some experience on my side- I need to be more accountable.

I'm based in Shanghai, China. Trying to find a diet that does not involve rice may be interesting... :-)

Make sure to drink plenty of water, do extra stretching and drink a recovery drink if you have one. The soreness will be bad teh first week but those things will help. Good luck as you get going!

I too am starting Insanity on 02/18. I'm 39, have a five month old son and have been sedentary for a while so this is going to HURT! Let's keep each other going...I'm going to need all the help I can get!

I did the 20 min bonus dvd for the second time this morning and just with it alone Im already sore! Did some extra stretching this morning to hopefully help emoticon

I, too, will be starting Insanity on Monday the 18th.
I'm 55 years old, 5'7" and my current wt is 181 lbs.
I've been walking 3.5 miles a day early in the AM for about a week and will continue to do that and then do Insanity after work. A doubling up process so to speak.
My goal is to lose 20+ pounds. I'm a bit scared but am committed to complete the 60 days.
I will do the fit test tomorrow and stay with the program.
If you all don't mind an old fart joining in and will have me in the group I'm sure I can use (and give) all the support possible.

Hey there, my wife and I started Insanity 5 weeks ago. The first week plus was really rough on us as far as soreness. I think the recovery drinks work well to help out, we didn't use any the first couple of weeks. I will say this though, I started to feel much more energetic after the first week, I was also getting close to keeping up with the exercises by the 4th week. I am 49 and before I was only walk/jogging with my wife on alternating weekends. Enjoy and have a great first week... emoticon

Finished my walk this morning with my wife. She walks a brutal fast pace but takes it easy on me (for now). Anyway, I've logged 24.5 miles in this week.
Today I do my fit test, take measurements and maybe even a photo *dread*

Congrats on starting guys! It is life changing opportunity if you follow the schedule and clean up the diet. The first couple of days are rough for everyone, make sure you stay hydrated and stretched out, but once you are through it, it is all downhill and you will really start to notice some results. I'm starting today as well with 2 friends! I've gotten about 3 weeks in last year and was feeling great and clothes fit so much better, but my friend who i was doing it with stopped... and I need that someone to push me! My motivation is just not being embarrassed in a bikini lol

Well I started today, popped in the DVD and took the fit test and let me say if I was getting a grade I failed. I really didnt think I had let myself go as much as this proved I had. I wanted to quite and stop that DVD so many times feeling defeated but I didn't. As far as push up jacks my number was 0. I cannot even do a regular push up let alone add the jack part so I modified and did as many "girl" push ups as possible. Am I alone or did anyone feel the way I did today? I want to quit but I am not going to do that cause I did feel a sense of accomplishment after the test was complete. Anyone else feel intimidated on Day 1?

I took the fit test yesterday and did the first workout today! So far I'm pretty sore, but I'm hope that it means good results! I am totally struggling with some of the moves, but we can only get better!

I just finished the Fit Test and I am anything but! This is gonna be fun! I've done a few rounds of P90X, but I figured I should mix it up now that I know all Tony's jokes verbatim. Wifey and I welcomed son number 3 into the world in December, so I've been on a workout hiatus. Glad to see there are others starting the same day. I can tell we'll all need the encouragement..."Peace out!"

I finished the Les Mills Combat program this winter and I'm in week 10 of Pump. I saw this thread a few days ago, and I decided it was time to blow the dust off the Insanity DVDs and start with this group. I attempted Insanity a year ago, but I only made it one week of the program. I got frustrated because I couldn't keep up with the people in the video. I'm going to give it another try. I really want to complete this program... I just did the fit test, and holy cow--that was a workout in itself!

did the fit test yesterday (did fair) and completed plyo-cardio just now. WOW! I'm just barely alive. couldn't keep up with everyone but hung in there and did my best.
