Nutrition Tips

• If you want to see great results, you have to focus on your nutrition as much as the workouts. Nutrition plays a key role in how you will reach your goals and attain the new and better you! Be prepared by getting a solid nutrition plan in place prior to starting. You can do this week-to-week or even plan out your entire month. Over time you will learn new eating habits that you can carry with you for the rest of your life.

• Review your nutrition plan that came with your program and do your shopping for next week. Be sure to throw out all junk food and temptations from your house. Also I would recommend signing up for myfitnesspal.com to help you track all your calories and exercise.

• Shakeology is a great way to meet all of your nutritional needs! As a meal or a snack it fuels your body with everything it needs in order to BRING IT everyday!



Track your progress
Where are you now? Where do you want to be? Have Goals!

• Nothing is more important or motivating than to see where you started and how you are progressing along the way! It is so CRUCIAL that you do the following BEFORE you begin:

• Take your Measurements
• Take your before & after pictures
• Take the fit test

I can’t tell you how many people on my previous threads told me they were so mad at themselves for not doing this before they started.

If you want the best results, if you want to maximize your results, not just in the Insanity Workout, but any fitness program, you MUST track your progress. You simply cannot get to where you want to be, unless you know where you’ve been, and that’s why you need the worksheets. You only get one set of Insanity worksheets when you purchase the program. People are finishing their 60 days, and are ready for round 2! Download the Insanity Fit Test Worksheets that I created.

Another popular request is the Insanity Workout Calendar. No problem. Download the Insanity Calendar. Also if you are wondering how to add the deluxe workouts then pay particular attention to the statement at the bottom of this Insanity calendar download. It gives you a couple of ideas on how to use the deluxe DVDs.

Also utilize the tools that TBB provides. Complete your profile, and track your measurements and weight online. I use MyFitnessPal online to track my food diary as well as my calories burned each day. I would highly recommend signing up and add me as a buddy. My id is garmfield. MFP also has apps for iPhone, Andriod, and Blackberry.



Pre-Workout

• These workouts are intense! The right fuel will help your body "Dig Deeper!!!" with the intensity you need! If you eat a pre-workout meal, is very important to wait about an hour before you work out. Eat too soon and you could end up losing the meal instead of bringing the intensity!

• If you workout first thing in the morning like I sometimes do you might want to skip eating and take a pre-fuel 15 minutes prior to working out. I drink some of my recovery drink prior to working out. It gives me all the energy I need to complete the toughest workouts. Also I would recommend checking out Beachbody's Energy & Endurance (E&E) if you want more of a boost before your workout.



Post-Workout

Keep in mind the first week is exceptionally rough! Expect to be sore and tired: Do not give up! Your body will adapt quickly and in no time you will start seeing some crazy results. You may want to do a few non-dvd workouts prior to starting just to get your body & mind ready.

• Recovery: After an intense Insanity workout, it is vital to recover the right way. I cannot stress enough how important this is. By adding a recovery drink immediately after your workout, you will significantly decrease the amount of soreness you will experience while your body recovers. Intense exercise will burn off glycogen stores in the muscles which leaves the body without its primary source of energy. The longer you are in this state, the greater the chances your body will panic and may actually breakdown your existing muscle to create more glycogen—the exact opposite of what we are working for! Plus low blood sugar levels in the brain will lead to fatigue, irritability, lack of concentration, depression, etc. The Beachbody Recovery Drink will replenish your muscles with glycogen, you will not only avoid muscle breakdown, but you will promote muscle growth and keep your energy levels up. The Beachbody Recovery Drink is a great product and I highly recommend it.



Accountability
Post your accountability DAILY on the message boards! This is the key to staying motivated. Here is an interesting statistic I’ve noticed over the past couple of threads I’ve been in. Out of all the people who join the thread and commit to the workouts, less than 20% will complete the full 60 day program! But what I found is, of those of post every day they are 90% likely to complete the program and transform their lives.

The message boards and forums are a great way to meet others that are going through exactly what you are and it helps stay accountable and motivated! Your forum buddies will have tips and information that has helped them and could help you as well. You will be doing the same in no time!

I always tend to get sick or hurt right in the first few weeks of the program, but I am determined to do this, AND STICK WITH IT! I won't lie, I won't be able to post in here every day (more like every other) because my laptop was stolen when my home was burglarized just before Christmas, but keep in good faith that I will and am doing this! I am at work until 6 or so tonight, and then, it's DAY ONE!!! emoticon

Hi everyone old and new!

I've been with Beachbody for nearly 2 years now. It has changed my life totally. I started with Turbo Jam, moved on to P90X and have completed or attempted to complete most of BB's programs. My favorites are anything Les Mills, Turbo Fire and ChaLean Extreme. I'm retired and have 2 grown girls who produced 6 grandchildren over the last 20 yrs, with the last one being born 4 1/2 years ago.

Back for another round of Les Mills Pump and Les Mills Combat. I will also be mixing in other random workouts for variety.

I just finished a week long rest that only included walking. My eating was hit and miss (mostly miss).

Back for yet another round!!

My name is Melanie, I'm a 31 year old mom of 3 kids. I started working out back in May 2012 with Insanity, and have been making the rounds through p90x, BBL, TurboFire and Insanity ever since. I've just started my next round with another hybrid of these workouts. I'm focusing more on core and legs & butt for this round.

I'm Sharon. I'm 54 years old and have done several rounds of Insanity. I'm in too coach. I would love to have an Insanity wrist band. I'm doing P90X right now. If I have to I will change it to Insanity. Looking forward to the challenge. I have several BB workouts but Insanity is my favorite

Hello Everyone. My name is Sheila. I've done a variety of Beachbody workouts and am currently doing a hybrid of Charlene Extreme, Turbofire, and Insanity. I am also mixing in running and spinning. I love the Beachbody workouts as you can always make them more challenging by pushing harder and there's great variety in each workout.
Looking forward to being a part of this thread.

Hi, my name is Michelle, working full-time mom of 2 young children. I hoping to complete Insanity this time. I have been retrying it many times and just have not completed it. Day 1 will be Monday (2/18). I plan on going to the grocery store tomorrow to get the items and make the meals for the week. I will continue to post my accountability.

Insanity The Asylum Vol 2 the first 30 days then Insanity/Asylum after that. I am thinking of adding in some running once it starts to warm up a bit here and the snow is gone. Still looking to shed a few pounds and more inches.

Hey everyone. Im Mohamed. A 15 year old student and im back again to hit it hard. Last time i had my finals and an injury which completely derailed my progress with insanity but i thought since insanity always injures me, maybe i should get stronger before doing insanity.

So im gonna be doing P90x. To build strength and loose some weight then do insanity.




Accountability P90X Day 4 (Yoga X):

So I finished Yoga X today and it was everything i could have wanted. It really losened me up except for my shoulders, which were a little stiff at the end

A Big Concern: At the end i wanted to rest cause i really enjoyed the rests at the end of Yoga X so I stayed in Corpse Pose for a bit after I was finished. I stayed there for a few minutes and had the strangest experience. After some research, it turns out that experienced something called sleep paralysis

Accountability Today February 16 P90X Day 85 Yoga X Less than a week to go. Planning on a round of Les Mills Combat next, but I also might keep it more free form for a while. We'll see.
