Dealing with a long day and eating
Hello,

I am on week 2 of P90X, and I have a question about how to deal with a super long day and follow the nutrition guide. I normally do my workout in the morning right when I get up at 5:30am.

Tomorrow I will be working a midnight to 8am shift, and then I will continue the day as normal until I crash at 8pm. Do you have any suggestions for eating during the morning hours to stay on the nutrition plan if I plan on doing my workout at 9am?

Thanks
Dave

I would flip flop your eating so you are eating through out the night and have energy for your different schedule. I would also get in enough calories before your workout so you have the energy you need to get through it and not be tired or "gassed".

Thanks! So something like a small breakfast at midnight then another one at 6am is what you mean? Maybe with some snacking in between?

I wouldnt eat anything within 3 hours of your workout. I would snack lightly through the night if you need to but I would focus more on having a great meal following your 6am workout. Larry Shelton - EnduraFIT

How often do you do this schedule? If it's a once per week thing I would look into making it my rest day. It's a lot to ask of your body to keep those hours and do a full P90X workout mid-way through.

I only do this schedule maybe 4-5 times a year. So it is not a normal occurrence for me.

Thanks for the help!

that's good. Those kind of schedule shifts are really hard on a person.
