power 90 weight training sore sculpt sculpt 1-2 not sore
2/21/13 3:19 PM
Hey guys

I just started the Power 90 workout program.

The first day I did the Sculpt I-II video, I used the heaviest resistance bands and went all out and was really sore for a long while after.

I decided to focus more on form and I kinda think I overdid it that day.

So I'm two weeks in, and now after I do my workouts, my arms are weak/tired, but I don't feel any soreness the next day.

I've been taking protein and drinking plenty of water.

When I don't feel the soreness, I feel like I'm not making any progress. Is this true? How sore should I get?

Can anyone help me out?

I'm certainly not a fitness expert but I was sore every day for the first few weeks and then not really that sore for the next few weeks.

I don't think not being sore means you aren't making progress. I'd be interested to hear what other experts say but as long as you are working hard, doing max reps with whatever weights you choose, you'll be making progress. The protein also helps with soreness as well.

I know that's not an answer per se but just wanted to let you know that I don't think you are supposed to be sore for days on end after every workout.

Hi Stanley,

You are making progress. You muscles have adapted to the workouts and must have the proper fuel for recovery. Just continue with the program and use you 30 day measurements to view progress. Keep it going!

Muscle soreness does not indicate whether a workout was more or less effective. As your body adapts to the routine soreness will dissipate but that doesnt mean your workout isnt effective. Larry Shelton - EnduraFIT
