First, lets me say congrats on your choice of a newer/better version of you. Insanity first then P90X? Great plan. Insanity will help you drop a little goo and get you in great cardio shape. X will then help get the muscles to show through and get you all around more athletic and balanced.
You mentioned in one of your blogs that your knees were aching a bit. Make sure you are squatting correctly. Correct - keeping knees over the feet when squatting. Incorrect - knees going forward past the toes. When done incorrectly, there is too much pressure put on the knees. Now that you are going into recovery week it should help. Ice up the knees a bit if you need to.
Protein bars. As long as you expend more calories than you ingest you will lose weight. An active lifestyle, with workouts added in, and proper nutrition and rest are the key to a healthy body.
Shakeology? I use mine at the peak craving part of my day - late afternoon. That is what works best for me. Post workout, I prefer something with a higher carb to protein ratio such as the P90X Recovery Formula or some vanilla whey protein with some blended strawberries and apple juice. I try to get about a 3:1 carb to protein ratio. 3:1 - 4:1 ratio within the first hour post workout has been proven to increase your body's ability to recover better. Too much protein is actually just a waste - another reason I would not choose Shakeology for this.
