Shakeology Cleanse and Sickness
Hello All!

I've decided to try the Shakeology 3 day cleanse during my Insanity recovery week. I've hit a plateau and in the last couple of days I haven't been sticking to my diet that well. I'm hoping the cleanse will give me a push and remotivate me for month 2 of Insanity. But I do have one concern. I haven't ever tried Shakeology before (but I do use protein shakes) and I've heard nothing but the best about it on the internet (health benefits, craving controls, weightloss etc etc).

But I just came across some threads about people becoming violently ill after using consuming Shakeology. Now, I'm really nervous about using the product. My bag should arrive in 2 days and I was going to try it out before I start my recovery week. But the last thing I need right now is to be sick. Has anyone tried to do the 3 day cleanse and become ill? I'm realllly nervous

Thanks!

"Violently ill."

That sounds scary, like some exorcist stuff. I've heard of some with bowel issues but no violence. If you search further, you will have a much higher rate of people that love their Shakeology.

3 Day Cleanse.
Before you do it, take the normal once a day dosage for a few days to see how it treats you. If all is well, and I imagine it will be, then go forward with the cleanse.

Congrats on your choice for a healthier better you with Insanity.

Hey Shari!

Congrats on finishing month 1 of Insanity! I think you'll really like the recovery workouts and the cleanse. It's a great time to do it. What flavor did you order?

I have done the cleanse 4 times (about 2 times a year for the past 2 years)I love it! Day 2 I kind of get a weird taste in my mouth if I don't drink enough water, but it goes away and it's a good reminder to sip up water every hour or so! emoticon

I have hosted 6 cleanses in the past 2 years as well and I haven't had anyone get sick. Now, I'm not saying that is 100% of everyone ever doing the cleanse, but there's been about 50 of us and been okay. Some people do get a headache in day 2, but again the water and proper sleep will help with that.

I do know that one of my clients did have a reaction to tropical shakeology; however, she sent it back and retried it about a month later (different flavor) and did great with it so I think it's just a small rarity.

Do you have anyone doing the cleanse with you? Do you have the guidelines for it? I can send you them if you need them.

Are you excited for month 2 of insanity? What are your goals for it?

Thanks Sorey! I am really excited about month 2 although I am a lil nervous. During the last week of month 1 I was starting to get bored and I unfortunately missed 2 workouts. I just hope I don't loose interest during month 2. I think my boredom plus the frustration that I stopped seeing results lead to me missing my workouts. I'm really gonna push hard to complete month 2. I just hope I don't get bored.

I ordered the Chocolate Shakeology. I read all over the place that Chocolate was the most popular flavor. I hope I like it as much as everyone else did.

I am doing the cleanse alone; which is fine with me. I do have the guidelines for it. I'm just going to tweak it a lil and have my salad at lunch time instead of dinner. Since I'll be doing my recovery exercises in the evening I thought it would be best to have Shakeology after it. And I'm also never super hungry around dinnertime anyway.

I am still worried about getting sick from Shakeology. I read on other boards that some people have had some weird reaction to Shakeology and found themselves sick. I guess since only 1 out of your 50 clients got sick I guess my chances are pretty slim. I really want to complete this cleanse. I think it will really motivate and get me ready for month 2. I just hope in month 2 I see more results.

Thanks Jason! I do plan on trying Shakeology once a day for maybe 2 days and see how it goes. Mainly so I can get an idea on the best way to make it so that it suits my taste buds. Once I figure that out I'm going to dive into my cleanse. I'm really excited. I hope I enjoy it. Thanks for your help!
