Needing some help.
Needing some help.
7/1/09 10:08 AM
So one day just very recently I looked in the mirror and discovered that I have grown fat. My stomach is hanging over my pants (which are still maternity pants by the way which don't fit anymore), my thighs are huge and dimply and my butt...let's not even go there. It has been 5 months since the birth of my second child and somewhere in those 5 months my body has decided to grow fat. The excuse that I just had a kid doesn't seem to apply 5 months down the road especially since my body has grown even bigger since the birth of my child. So I need help.

I need accountability and encouragement. I have to lose this weight. I don't want to see someone who is overweight and out of shape. I know that I will never be the same after having 2 kids but I would like to be more like the pre-kid me. I don't like to work out but with 10 Minute trainer I'm hoping that I can't find an excuse to not workout. It's just 10 minutes. I can find 10 minutes somewhere in my busy day. So help me out guys! Post in this thread and lets lose weight together!!!! Say NO to fat!

Hey there!

I have to decided to finally use my TMT that I bought months ago. No more excuses, just less tv watching for me and I will have plenty of time for it. So when are you planning on starting? I am starting tomorrow morning, I don't want to put it off anymore. emoticon

I'm in with you. I was 2 1/2 years after my second child. It was my 9th anniversary. We got a hotel. I was changing to go swim and my husband found the P90X infomercial. He was like "we have to do this!" I was like "are you nuts?". Then I got my suit on and looked in the mirror. Scary! I trained for a marathon and a half last year in June. It was to honor my Mother-in-law. She had lost her battle with breast cancer. That was the only way I could do something like 40 miles. It was for her and all the other families out there dealing with cancer hell. When it was race time, I looked great. After the 40 miles I decided that if God wanted us to run that much He would have given us better knees, hips, feet, etc. I spent the next 6 months on my butt. Skip ahead to the hotel mirror and my swimsuit. We ordered P90X.
With one round of P90X down I decided to go with TMT for the summer. I started today after doing the 2 day fast Sunday and Monday. Yeah, that was not as fun as 2 days of Dairy Queen shakes, but it was ok. I figured July 1st was a good day to start 30 days of TMT. Did cardio and lower body today. I did not use the door jam band. Still kicked my butt. Hope to be using it by the end of the 30 days.
Would love to do this with you guys. It is only 30 days and 10 minutes. We can do it! Feel free to ride me when I don't do it. I may need that. I had someone tell me this week that a daily workout is the only thing in the day that women tend to do for themselves. We spend the other 23 1/2 hours doing for others. So lets take our 10, 20 or 30 minutes for ourselves and get healthy!

I am a stay at home mom of 3 children. I run a daycare out of my home. I have been doing 10 minute trainer since May 8. I am loving it. I like that I can workout for however long I want. I started doing 30 minutes and I have now went to the advanced version so I am only doing 20 minutes. It is still hard for me to do some of the moves, but my trainer encouraged me to keep on moving and my strength would build up as I moved on. I can tell a difference in inches, but not so much in weight loss. I haven't measured myself lately, but I know that I have lost 7 inches. I have only lost 1/2 pound, but can't change diet to much or take pills because I am still nursing my 1 year old.

Sumani-
Don't get discouraged. Pregnancy wrecks havoc on the body. Anyone who says that she walks out of the hospital in her pre-preg jeans is a liar. Give your body some time to bounce back. TMT is a great start. I ordered TMT to fit into my schedule. I was in pretty good shape b4 I started TMT, but it really kicked my bootay. You will be amazed at how fast this program works. I did it for 3 weeks and my husband and his family noticed the difference in my arms and butt. I was so jazzed. I will warn you, the ab workout is difficult, so modify it just like 99% of us.
Welcome to the boards. I am on Working MOm's...Coach Lizzy's thread. YOu don't have to be a mom and you don't have to work to join that thread. Come on over and check it out.

Shay-
TMT is difficult, especially the AB routine. I also own P90X and I think that the ab routine on TMT is just as hard if not harder than the one on P90X.
I don't use the door attachment and I still get a great workout.
Keep up the great work!

Have a wonderful day ladies!

Bkkag-
I used to be in extreme shape...back before kids. I was a long distance cyclist and swimmer. Now, at 49 things are sagging and my backside as grown. I purchased P90X for my 17 year old son who lost 30 pounds with the program. He is 6'5", but he did need to lose 30 pounds. He loved the program and he got me to do it with him. It was HARD, but wonderful. TOny says, "You hate it, but you love it." He is sooo right about this comment. P90X is great but I could not keep up with the schedule since I work 2 jobs most of the year. I purchased TMT and thought that I could add it into my gym schedule. It is definately harder than it appears on the infomercial. I usually do 3-4 workouts per session without the belt. It is kick buns to say the least. I love it. Now, I am thinking about purchasing CE. If your husband is thinking about P90x, he might want to try out Tony's One-on-One series. It is on sale this month.

Welcome y'all. You will find me and some fun women on Working Mom's tread. You don't have to be a mom and you don't have to work to be on the thread. Everyone is welcome and Coach Lizzy is great!

Did yoga flex today. Loved it! Was not a huge fan of yogaX. My mind could not focus for 90 minutes of quiet and storm. My mind loved 10 minutes today. I did it after a bike ride. My legs tanked me. Way to go everyone! Thanks for the info Peenut.

Kate-
YOga X grows on you. 90 minutes of yoga is a bit much, but it gets easier. TMT yoga is great. I do slow it down a bit to get in a better stretch.
