Ive started the Insanity program 3 times already and will try at it a 4th time come Monday. I always get week 1 knocked out and then get super sick with a cold to the point i cant function much less workout. Is there any advise on how to stop that? I changed my diet and take multi vitamins but always get a major cold after completing the first week.

Sounds like you are on the right track to get past the first week this time, keep doing what you are doing and I think you should be fine. One thing I will tell you is to find a support system to go through the program with, it really helps. I have a group on face book of people that are starting the program about the same time you are, and I have a thread here as well, if you would like info on either of those I will post it here for you. Keep on the vitamin and make sure you a are eating enough and you should keep the sickness at bay.

You need to get out of your sweaty clothes AS SOON as you finish your workout and get a bath. This is usually the cause of most of the colds after working out.

Start taking vitamin C and zinc supplements. Vitamin C will help prevent colds, and zinc will shorten the duration of the colds you do catch.

Your bodies immune system is weakened slightly as your body goes into recovery mode following intense exercise sessions... Like the previous coach mentioned vitamin c either through food or supplement is a good idea. If you look at the reaults and recovery formula the vitamin c amount is well over 100% of a daily serving for this reason.

It could only be coincidental with your workouts. I have two kids myself and have been sick multiple times this year... I was concerned enough that I discussed it with my doctor. Basically, he summarized that an individuals immune system goes through cycles where it reboosts itself. But, If this pattern continues for you, I would also consult your doctor. You may want to take some iron pills as well. Make sure you are getting enough vitamins, A,C,D,E as well.

Are you eating enough? Sometimes people who are on unhealthy strict diets will get sick very easy once they continue to strain themselves. Try to be eating around 1500 calories a day or more. Never go below 1200 as that is quite unhealthy even for people who aren't working out. Try to eat at least 40% protein, 40% carbs, 20% fats in your 1500 calorie diet as the protein will help keep muscle, burn energy, the carbs keeps your body full of energy to burn, and the fats just keeps the general overall health of your body in check. You NEED ALL THREE in your diet. Without knowing anything else besides what you've mentioned, I'm not sure what else could be the problem.

Your body needs fuel, and if you don't provide it, then bad things happen.

One thing you could do with your workouts is just continue past week 1 whether or not you skip one or two because you're sick. Start completely new this Monday, and just continue the program as best you can, doing all the workouts you can and if you get sick, then fight through it and continue on even though you may miss a couple here and there. You're body will adjust.

Stick with it and keep modifying to YOUR needs! Don't try to do what the people on the workout do, just do what you can, as long as you can, and you'll get better.

I'm really big on spiritual signs and all that other hoop la about SIGNS AND WHAT NOT. I would say that it's the devil whos trying to keep you from getting back into shape if you ask me.

Also, consider your daily habits as you complete a workout. Are you showering afterwards, is it within the winter time that your starting your workout which has the ability of triggering a cold, and are you within a country setting of living arrangements

SLEEP!!!! Try to get to bed earlier. People take it for granted but its so important.
