Hello and and all! My name is Lynn and I'm 25 years old. I've been struggling with my weight since high school but it's worsened dramatically since I started dating my husband 8 years ago. I was very uneasy in my skin even at 140 lbs when I started dating my husband. I wouldn't even eat in front of people at that time, but then his mom is such a good cook and made the typical protein, starch, and veggies meals 1-2 times a day. I started eating larger meals in front of my new in-laws and husband and quickly started gaining. Within the first year of my marriage I gained to over 200 lbs. The day I weighed myself and found that weight of 202 on the scale I was so disappointed in myself. How could I let myself get like this? Another 7 years and 2 pregnancies later, and I let myself get to 282.4 lbs as my highest that's documented.
Last year in January 2008 I received my Turbo Jam Maximum Results. I didn't actually start it until February 08 and lost about 30 lbs with mostly the 20 minute w/o and eating better/cutting portions withing about 2-3 months. Then we had a financial crisis and I had to start working again. I got two jobs to help get my family back on our feet, one at a call center and the other delivering pizzas. I gained it all back plus another 2-3 lbs.
Starting May 14, 2009, I started a biggest loser contest with my mom, sister, and husband. We are documenting our progress at least once a week on youtube and as of today I am down to 263.7 lbs. I'm proud of my successes so far but it will be a long road ahead.
Please join me if your goal is to get healthy, for the last time, and stay that way.

Okay, accountability time! I just got done doing TJ 20 minute workout in WOWY. I was a little late than my scheduled time, but I'm glad I got it done. Yesterday I had only planned on doing the 20 minute w/o but then I wanted to workout just a bit more. My gym closes early on Sundays so I couldn't go there, so I thought I should try one of the other workouts. I did Cardio Party and Ab Jam. Man, I'm feeling it today! I was so sore this morning when I got out of bed but stuck with it and worked out today anyways. I'm so excited because I weighed myself yesterday and then again today, and I lost 2.2 lbs. What a motivator to see the numbers drop like that just from yesterday morning to this morning!!! I'm lower now than what I've been for the last 5 weeks, so I'm hoping TJ is helping me overcome this plateau.
For my contest with my family, I weigh in each Thursday. I'm really hoping I can break through the 260 barrier this week. Last week I was at 261.5 and that's what I was today too. Just as long as I keep going down, and not up, and I'll be able to get below 260 lbs. If you're new to Turbo Jam, or getting back into a TJ routine, please join me on this thread.

After doing the 20 min w/o this morning I forgot to eat until 3pm. Today's food consisted of 2 organic peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, a half of a cantaloupe, and a low cal fudgesicle. I had very little water today too. I'm not really sure why I wasn't hungry, I just didn't even think about it. Tomorrow is a new day though so I'll start with breakfast after picking up my sis from work at 7am(she works overnights). Around 4pm I did TJ L&B and then at 5:30pm we went to the Y. I completed one mile in 14:49 today, which is more than I wanted it to be. I'm proud of myself though because I ran pretty consistently almost the whole time. When I first started working out in May, I had a hard time doing a mile in 18 minutes so it's kind of an accomplishment for me. I'll update on here once I get below 14 minutes. I'm hoping that will be tomorrow. Oh, and once I got done with my 20 minutes on the treadmill, the girl that was next to me told me that I was doing a great job for a beginner. It kinda sucks that she could tell I was a beginner, but at least she could see my efforts. After running I did weights for my arms and then swam(casually) with my 3 and 4 year olds. Tomorrow morning I'm going with my mom and sis to the Y at 8am. I'll have to adjust my TJ time because right now it's set for 9am. Hopefully I'll be able to report a new mile time in the morning after the Y.

Hi Nikki and welcome! Congrats on starting over for you! What other DVDs from BB do you have? I'm interested in trying some others after the TJ rotation but I'm not sure where to start. I'm really interested in P90X but I think it might be a little out of my fitness level at the moment. I'm thinking that maybe after I get to 225 I might order it and try it.
I know what you mean about being sick of being sick and tired. That's how I was and then my mom said we should try out for The Biggest Loser while we were watching the finale. I was like, "I can do it on my own." and it all stemmed from there. My first short term goal is to get down to 225 and then to ONEderland. I'd like to accomplish both before the end of the year and I don't really think it's out of my reach. All I have to do is lose 2.5 lbs a week to make it to 196 by New Year's Eve. I think I can do it!

I did it today! I made it under 14 minutes for my mile at 13:54! I also weighed myself and was under 260 like I wanted, weighing 258.8 lbs. I'm really wanting to lose more weight and be around 255 by Thursdays weigh in.
Tomorrow, to help overcome my plateau, I'm starting the 7 day sacred heart diet. I made the soup tonight, in fact it's still simmering, and it's delicious! The more soup you eat, the more weight you lose. I found the recipe from a gal that has lost over 170 lbs and that's how she overcame her plateau.
Ok, for fitness today I did 22 minutes and 1.36 miles on the treadmill, 22 minutes on the stationary bicycle, and I'm about to do L&B. Then tomorrow I'll start on the rest of the rotation...I think it's 20 minute w/o tomorrow but I think I'll add in the Ab Jam too. Off to WOWY.

Hi Lynn,

I myself is on the path to weight loss too with Turbo Jam. It is a lot of fun even though it was tough going in the beginning. I, too, worked at a call center where I had only 30 minutes for lunch and had to eat very fast in that short amount of time before returning to the phones. I worked for a major medical insurance company and we would think that they would promote health but not in this case. The company had vending machines filled with candy, chips, and sodas galore. Not to mention the potlucks, every team hosted with unhealthy foods such as fried chicken from Popeyes or a local restaurant here in Texas called Frenchy's. I got a reality call when I had my blood pressure checked and found it was too high but was borderline close to have to get the meds. That visit with the doctor made me change my thinking.

I have been working out with Turbo Jam and also Chalean Extreme for the last 2 months but lost 8 lbs and a few inches. I am determined to lose this weight. The easiest part about exercising is that you get used to not longing for the desserts and the unhealthy foods with that I have resisted temptations at work even though I get the occasion question why I am not eating the meals at the potluck (I bring my own lunch). I have disregarded these questions and the most important thing is taking care of myself. You sound like you are on the right path with reasonable goals. You are doing well with the fitness part too.

I would be glad to join you as well as provide support because I know it is important to have that support.

Glad to meet you emoticon

I know how that is with the potlucks too. I actually got off the phones and became a trainer and my teams were always bugging me to let them have potlucks. That definately didn't help me either because with all the food and me being the one in charge of clean up since my teams had to get back on the phones, I had the mentality that we all needed to eat more so I didn't have so much to clean up.
I just got done with learn and burn...and even though it's the beginner segment, it really made me sweat, like a pig! How do you like the ChaLEAN Extreme? Is it about the same fitness style as TJ or harder? Once I'm done with this rotation I want to switch it up a bit so I don't plateau again.
Off to shower all this sweat off...it's seriously disgusting me at this point. emoticon

Hi all!!! I love this post!!! Starting over for the last time FOREVER just about sums it up for me!!! I am the mother of four young children and had gotten completely out of shape. Not that I was in that great of shape to begin with...I struggled all through high school and was about 142 when I met my husband...and I am only 5'2"!. After four babies...I too hit that magic 200+ mark!! I started working out last year...then that lovely holiday time of year rolled around...Thanksgiving through New Year's. Everything I did...I undid!! At the start of this year, I started to work out - I too was motivated by the show. I started with the 10 Minute Trainer DVDs...and then some others - I became hooked on Beachbody. Then I did it...I took on P90X!!!! Today is day 81 for me!!! I love it...

Ladies...we WILL do this for the last time FOREVER!!!!

Coach Tracy- I would absolutely love to get motivational emails from you! Seriously, any motivation I can get I will take. My email is lynnbiggestloser@gmail.com. I'm really excited for tomorrow, starting the Sacred Heart Diet. The soup smells so good and the bit that I tasted to make sure it was done, I think I could eat it ALL the time...not just for a week emoticon I just put it all away and froze some and left one container for tomorrow in the fridge. Has anyone else tried this diet? Tomorrow is all fruit(except bananas) and the soup as much as I want. I'm excited cause I love fruit and they recommend lots of cantaloupe and watermelon- two of my favorites. Well I'm going to play a game with my hubby and then off to bed so I can work out early at the gym. I'd like to get 13:30 or less tomorrow for my mile time. I found out today that if I go 5mph the whole mile I will get it done within 12 minutes. Since I try to do intervals on the treadmill, I know that going 5mph will actually take me a bit longer, but it's a good starting point for me.
See you all tomorrow!

Hi Lynn. Today I am soooo sore! I went to the gym on Sunday and got pushed to the next level. I feel stiff all in my shoulders, neck and chest. I still worked out yesterday and today doing Start it up part of slim and six. Even though im sore Im not going to stop! They say no pain, no gain or shall I say lose. lol. I have turbo jam, power 90, and slim in 6 from beech body, not to say all the other tapes. My highest weight after my daughter was born was around 260lbs. Now Im about >210 trying to get under 200!. My goal is to be around 161 or less. Im going to get there before 2009 is up because I want it and determine. I think my favorite quote I ever herd was that there are two times to excersize... 1. when you feel like it 2. when you dont... you just have to do it. I try to put excersize as a must do now. If I wont excersize then I cant brush my teeth, and I will not walk around with a dirty mouth. This quote helps me stay focused and keep the excuses to a minimum Congrats on your weight loss! You gave me some more motivation to do some turbo jam after I get off the boards and push harder when I get on the tredmill. Ive had a slow ride by starting and stopping but no more. I know this extra support will be all I need to get to the finish line. Good luck thursday and keep me posted. oh yeah im gonna need that soap recipe cause I need all the help I can get. Well im gonna try to push play one more time before the day is over and will be back soon to keep you posted on my mission.

Hello Coach-Tracy. Thanks for asking me to be one of your buddies! I now your support along with others give me so much drive to continue to push play and strive to be better each day. I cant wait till I reach day 81. Im on about day 26. I tend to not be able to say with one program. Its like I have a short attention span but I dont no if thats a good thing or not. Sometimes I feel like if I do only the one program my results may be better. What do you think. I do push myself no matter what workout choice I choose but I also want to do what is best me and will get the results im seeking. I have wondered about P90X. My question is how difficult is the program. Can someone who is 200+lbs really get threw the workout or is it for the advance people only? I feel strong but regular P90 still kicks my butt. I make it threw the workout but sometimes its by will power and prayer. lol If you have any suggestion on this please let me no. Well Im so excited I got on the internet and seen this message board. I feel pumped up and knowing im not doing this alone bring more motivation to reaching my goals. Well im feeling some extra energy coming on so im going to do a workout before the night is over. Hope to talk to you soon !

Sacred Heart Diet
7/7/09 10:06 PM as a reply to coachbrandilynn.
So here is where I got the info about the Sacred Heart Diet. I'm starting tomorrow, 7/8/09, but I wasn't sure how much broth/water-bouillon to add so I googled it. You'll want to add either 2 cups of broth or 2 cups of water with 2 bouillon cubes. You can use chicken or beef bouillon, but I personally used chicken because the Lipton soup I got was chicken noodle. I also added half a head of cabbage and shredded it with a cheese grater and 2 garlic cloves cut very tiny. This is one of the diets that some of the folks on The Biggest Loser used to achieve their weight loss.

Sacred Heart Diet

The key to the soup itself is that all of the veggies are so low cal that your body burns more calories digesting it than what is actually in the soup. So by eating it, you're creating a calorie deficit. I got almost all of the veggies from a local farmer's market and everything there is grown organically(no chemicals or pesticides, etc.) The only things I didn't get from there was the celery, canned green beans(I got the sodium free kind), and the canned stewed tomatoes.
The gal whose site that is has inspired me so much. Definitely check out her before and after shots...it's amazing what she accomplished, and I know that I too can have those kind of results.

Okay, honestly, I'm going to head to bed now..lol. See ya'll tomorrow!

Lynn- I too got off the phones and became a quality auditor. The potlucks were something else. These teams found every occasion to have them and they would get fried foods, etc. When I was on the phone, I worked later hours especially with 10 hour shifts so it made it difficult to do much of anything. I made excuses not to work out even on my off days but it was just getting to point where I had to do something. Learn and Burn can be tough. I had to get back into the swing of things with that as I was using another program before I got Chalean Extreme.

I really like Chalean Extreme. I am on my 3rd week in the Burn phase. I am still getting used to the weights and actually had to move up to 15 lbs after my 10lbs got too easily. I used to do cardio a lot of times and lost weight quick but never thought much about strength training until now. This is my first venture into strength training. Chalean also has cardio disks also for certain days. I am doing those too and actually love her as an instructor. I had just finished cardio party today as well as burn circuit II so I had a major sweatfest but yes I think the program is actually doable even for beginners to strength training just like myself. just start out with the lowest weights you can and just increase in order to build that resistance or you can do the bands. The intent of Chalean Extreme is to lift heavy. I started with five lbs of weight then 8lbs and moved to 10 lbs. I believe you will enjoy this one too. Chalene is my favorite instructor.

Tracy- I actually had a good metabolism when I was in high school. I always participated in some sports even so in college but after leaving college, the weight crept on. I heard that P90x is tough but you are almost done with that one. Which workouts do you like? I have done P90 before with Tony Horton but I stayed with him for 60 days and then decided to try Turbo Jam. I have worked out to Billy Blanks but sometimes he goes too fast to really keep with the form and I was glad that Turbo Jam came out when it did. There is no dread factor involved. I have to admit Tony made me laugh everytime I did the sculpt and the cardio workouts. I lost 20lbs with him but might revisit him later.

Ladies, I know we will do this this time

I finally got to WOWY and just got done with the 20 min w/o. I am really bad with my procrastination but will hopefully get better. I wasn't able to run today which made it a lot more difficult to do the 20 minute w/o. I somehow hurt my ankle again(which has been giving me trouble since about 5 weeks ago), and when I got on the treadmill at the gym today I was only on there for about 3-4 minutes at a 3.7mph pace and it was killing me. I decided to swim instead which was relaxing and then just did 20 min w/o.
Tomorrow morning I'll be doing my w/o before weigh in so that I can shower and be ready for filming the weigh in at 9am eastern. If anybody wants to see it, we'll have it on youtube channel biggestlosercontest in the afternoon sometime. My mom does the editing so it depends on when she gets around to it. All of our previous videos are on there as well.
See you all tomorrow and I'll update everyone on my week weight loss.

Betrue2u:

Day 26 is fantastic!!! Keep it up. I tend to be the same. I have the desire, and I say I am going to do something, but then I become bored. I think with P90X it was the diversity that kept me coming back for more. Since it was never the same workout, I did not have the routine memorized and half heartedly do them...as I have done in the past. With regards to the intensity...I did workout for at least a month and half to two months prior for an hour a day. So I was working out...but obviously not with a program such as this. When I decided to do it, my husband encouraged me and said, you just do what you can do. He told me that eventually I would be able to do all the reps, etc... Now I can tell you that I STILL have to use a chair to do a pull up!!! Not sure when that is ever going to change! However, the way my body, strength, and stamina have changed has been amazing! Never did I think I could do a program like this...or say that I finished it!!!! What I did was set very small goals...I was proud of the small things such as reaching a certain rep number, or using a certain weight, or actually doing that yoga move that reflected the look of a pretzel!!!

Finish the program you are doing now, then consider moving on to something with more of a challenge. You will be so proud of yourself just in the fact that you finished that program!

I know you will do great! Feel free to reach out with any questions!

I do love P90X!! How are you enjoying ChaLEAN Extreme? My sister in law is doing that one and LOVES it!!! I love the diversity of P90X and I take pride in the small accomplishments. How far are you into CE? I too have the Turbo Jams. They are a lot of fun and I love the energy in them. I use them on days that I am adding in extra cardio. Tony is funny and certainly is amazing as far as his workouts go! I would love to hear more about the ChaLEAN and how it is working for you, how far you are into the program, etc...

Talk to you soon!

Tracy- I am in week 3 of the Burn phase. It really is amazing that I was able to move up from the 10 lb weights to the 15 lb weights. I have also decided to use the bands on days where I feel that it can benefit me. I just did her cardio and abs workout today and that was something else. The cardio was Burn Intervals which has some kickboxing in it as well as the weights and other plyometric exercises. I am still getting used to that but I love it. Chalene has one person modifying and another person doing the bands while the rest of the group is working the weights. Chalene really gets down to business in these videos whereas in Turbo Jam she is fun loving. I will keep you up to date on that. Next week begins week 4 of the burn phase and afterwards it is the push phase. Which phase is your sister in law in? Since I am starting to get more into strength training, I may end up doing another round of Chalean. I do add Turbo jams in. It is too much fun with Chalene. Time goes by too fast. Tony Horton is a character. I was a little too intimidated by P90x so I decided to get Chalean Extreme. I may end up doing P90x some time in the future. I heard Kenpo is a lot of fun. Are you using the classic phase or the lean phase?

Lynn-sorry to hear that you hurt your ankle, but it is great that you were able to find something to do in addition to the 20 minute workout. Wow, I wish I had learned to swim but swimming is good exercise. Please keep us updated.

Betrue2U- You are on day 26 , that is great. I too sometimes felt that I had a short attention span with different workouts (I did the original p90 for 60 days and stopped) but with the beachbody programs I am finding that there is some structure and order where I do not have to plan which workouts to do. I can add additional cardio if I would like and that is the only thing that I add in. Otherwise I follow the schedule. Somedays it can be challenging to be motivated to do them but I remember what my main goal is. The regular P90 did kick my butt for a while but it got better. I enjoy doing my workouts because I get that added energy that makes me feel like I accomplished a lot.

Hi Nicole,

Sounds like you are doing fantastic with CE!!! Going to be talking to my sister in law this weekend. I will find out what phase she is and let you know. I tried to add you as a workout buddy, but for some reason it says that it is an invalid screen name. Please feel free to add me as one. I am doing the Lean version of P90X. My last day is one week from today. Then I am starting Classic on Friday. Hoping to see some serious results in round 2!!!

Tracy- I sent the invitation to you. 2 rounds of P90x, I am impressed. I am considering a second round of Chalean Extreme but I am going to go ahead and order that additional dvd that came with the deluxe set with new exercises. The one thing I was intimidated by P90x is the pull-ups. I hated Tony in P90 for the tricep dips with the chair, lol. That was tough for me. My upward dogs were a mess too with the power yoga, lol. But I enjoy Tony. I heard the classic schedule for p90x is intense but it will be good to hear about it.

Lynn- I am going to try that soup for the Sacred Heart diet. I tried the cabbage soup diet years ago and lost quite a bit of weight but gained back when I stopped. I just couldn’t take the bland taste and eating certain things on certain days. I felt like I was turning into a banana when eating quite a bit of those, lol.

I have been hearing an awful lot about Shaun T’s new program called Insanity. To me it is scary because of the intensity. I will see what happens after my 2 rounds of Chalean. I am using weights in round 1 but will try the bands in round 2 but keep on Turbo jamming too.

Hello All!

Sorry I havent been on but life takes a hold of me sometime and its hard to find the time to get everything in. I still have been getting some type of workout in because if I stop then its down hill from there. Sometimes I feel like im on a roller coaster ride and when I think its almost over, here comes another steep drop and Im falling like pancakes but with my new determination to not stop it will eventually come up and im able to enjoy the ride. lol. Im so glad that we have these boards because all the messages really help me stay focused. I do no I need a coach so tracy I hope your up for the challange! Lynn I no how it feels to have a body part the hurt or bothers you. I have a bad knee that will ache, pops and get stiff and it makes me so angry. I refuse to let my knee take over my goal. I make sure that my positions are correct and take it easy when i need to but I no losing this weight can only help it. It a ruff ride sometimes but I think things are mind over matter. I have thought about sticking with one program instead of doing so many different ones so much. I think that if I stick with it and add others as extras my results will be better and wont be so mind consuming when I have to deside what am i gonna today. It will be no questions am will keep me more focused. I no I have to work on my diet. Its the hardest thing to me as I have to work so hard to not emotionally eat and choosing the best options. I hope everybody will have the results there looking for and Im gonna start shooting for those short term goals and see if that will help me. Well im off to push play and get my workout but cant wait to talk to you all soon.

quote: dont worry about what you woulda shoulda coulda done. Live for today and what you can do today to make your dreams come true.
