Insanity includes 10 different workouts, all of which are less than an hour long! They are:

1. Dig Deeper/Fit Test

2. Plyometric Cardio Circuit

3. Cardio Power & Resistance

4. Cardio Recovery/Max Recovery

5. Pure Cardio/Cardio Abs

6. Cardio Abs

7. Core Cardio & Balance

8. Max Interval Circuit

9. Max Interval Plyo

10. Max Cardio Conditioning/Cardio Abs

There is also a Deluxe version that includes three extra workouts.

These are not for beginners! According to Shaun T, some of the cardio workouts are the same as running over 10 miles! If you have completed another Beachbody workout and are ready to take your fitness to the next level, then Insanity is for you.

If you are new to working out, we can help you build a plan to get you ready for Insanity.

Did you know that when Carl Daikeler (the CEO of Beachbody) first heard that Shaun T was interested in developing Insanity, Carl said no! He thought of Shaun T as "the dance guy" and wanted someone serious for Insanity.

But Shaun T is a former track and field athlete, and he brought that background into the development of Insanity. He uses Max Interval Training, the same method that is used by pro athletes and those training for the Olympics.

It took just one demo video for Carl to be convinced that Shaun T was the right trainer for Insanity!

I'm coach Christy (afteracup), and I ordered Insanity yesterday! I got the deluxe version with the extra workouts and express shipping. I was just a little excited emoticon

I'm actually a little nervous about doing intense cardio! I have been doing Chalean Extreme since January, which I loved, but with a recent move I neglected the cardio portion and was just doing the weightlifting workouts. I know that I am not in as good of cardio condition as I was a few months ago. But I'm willing to work to my max, and Shaun T says that if we do, after 60 days we will absolutely be in our best shape yet!

I actually started my journey with Beachbody way back in 2003 after having my first baby. My husband is in the Navy and we were stationed in Japan, and there weren't many options for me for exercise. I started Power90 and lost all the baby weight in just a few months. I kind of forgot about Beachbody after that.

It wasn't until after my third baby that I came back to Beachbody. I had broken my ankle when I was six months pregnant (ever see a pregnant woman on crutches? not a pretty sight), and I packed on the weight. 70 pounds. And all I did after having the baby was gain 10 more! I tried and tried to get to the gym, and last year when my husband was deployed to Iraq and I was home alone with three kids, I realized that I needed a workout I could do at home and that I LOVED.

I started with Slim in 6, then Turbo Jam, then Chalean Extreme. I got active on the message boards, and I haven't left since! This is such a great way to get motivation, accountability and encouragement!

Yay Christy! I am SOOOO excited for you and for the rest of us that you have Cafe INSANITY open to the public and ready for business!

I ordered my Insanity the second it hit my store and like you, am waiting anxiously for it to arrive. I did the teaser Insanity workout a couple of weeks ago and it was, well, really insane and great. Some of the pushup moves were a little fast for me (bum wrist) so I just stopped the DVD for a few moments while I completed my reps. Other than that.....killer good. I was toast and loved it.

Have you seen anything on the nutrition? I need to get ready. I'm already stocked up on bars and RECOVERY FORMULA (I'm thinking that is going to be a staple).

That's what I remember from the webinar, too. It was supposed to have a 60-day supply. I guess we'll see when it gets here!

Hi Beth!

All I know about the nutrition is that it comes with a nutrition guide. Like P90X, it is super important to get the right nutrition so that you have the energy to do the workouts. Shaun T said that the recovery formua was "the savior" of everyone in the test group. They didn't think they could have done the workouts without it.

Hi Darrin,

After finishing the X you will be in perfect shape to tackle INSANITY! You will really mix it up for 60 days! And, you will have the benefit of doing INSANITY after the first group has finished so we will have way too much advice.

I adored the X and was planning on a round right before Insanity but we remodeled our house and so life got in the way. I did an extremely modified couple of weeks of Tony (some X and some One on One-those are a great addition to your after the X library by the way. I did not use them much for the longest time but kept buying them. I'm so glad I did because during this transition time they really came in handy).

Nice to meet you,

Beth

Hi Darrin,

Nice to meet you! My husband is waiting til Insanity arrives to decide whether he is going to do it with me or do P90X. He is already in great cardio shape, so I bet he'll end up being just a few weeks behind you in the X.

I'm sure we'll have plenty of opinions for you the next time you come by emoticon

You can watch the Insanity Commercial on Youtube if you want. Just search for Shaun T Insanity Commercial and you can watch all 3 parts. I am not sure it is supposed to be up on Youtube but it is there for everyone to watch.

I ordered the deluxe Insanity package yesterday.

I hope to start sometime during the week of August 3rd.

I can not imagine doing any of these extreme programs without top notch nutrition and a recovery plan. My first round of the X I tried so hard not to buy the Recovery formula and my eating was dead on great....I completely bonked by week two or three. Once I bought the recovery formula, I jammed. While it does not have to be Beachbody Recvoery formula, you need a Recovery beverage for all three of these Extreme Programs. I've done them (not Insanity other than the teaser video obviously) and I did so much better using the recovery formula.

I'm taking a guess that the plan is similar to the X. You just can not cut calories too much and get the results you desire. As hard as this program is I have a feeling that eating clean is going to be very easy for many of us....just constantly remembering how hard you just worked should do the trick.

The commercial briefly talked about eating five meals a day and not "snacks". Maybe the other 2 meals aren't as large as the 3 traditional meals?

Should be interesting fitting in all five meals with work but we will just have to figure it out as we go.

I'm guessing that most of us who are used to cutting our calories may have to add some, so maybe the snacks are just bigger? In the Webinar, Shaun T said that he burned over 600 calories in just 28 minutes, and that people who weren't in as good of shape as he is would burn more than that. I'm really hoping mine comes next week, so I will post some more info as soon as it does! I'm going to go watch the youtube videos now emoticon

I want to follow along to see how y'all like Insanity. I want to order it, but I just can't justify the shipping cost. It's a little too much for me right now. Otherwise, I would have been all over it. I'm going to keep an eye on eBay over the next few months. emoticon
So far now, I just want to lurk your thread emoticon to get the skinny on it. Maybe you will convince me to order it if you say too many good things about it. emoticon

Hi Leslie!

Nice to meet you! You don't have to be a lurker just because you aren't doing Insanity yet. You are welcome to post just for your own accountability! I will probably be posting my meal plans on some days to keep me accountable.

Hello all, I'm Anne, my fiance just ordered Insanity Deluxe for me yesterday. I'm hoping to have it tomorrow or Monday.

I did a round of P90X and actually just started a new round of Chalean. I will finish my Chalean rounds but I think throw in on "rest" days the Insanity and then do a complete round of Insanity when I'm done with Chalean and a break.

I'm so excited to get it. I was wondering the timing on them, P90X is a little too long for me with my time constraints right now, but if Insanity is under an hour that will be great. The other thing that I liked when I was reading about it is that there is no equipment needed, I travel for work a lot and its a pain in the hind end to always be putting tubing and other gadgets in my suitcase. Do you know I get stopped in security for my jump rope!!!! emoticon

Anyway, I would like to follow you all as well.
