Hi Frenz!

Today I did Interval X+. It was a fun change.

Ok, so I finally did it. I ordered Insanity and did the 2nd day shipping. I'm starting as soon as I get it. Sorry for not waiting to start at the same time with the rest of you, but I just gotta do it! I've been stuck in a rut and need to do some serious fat burning to undo my "summer fun" that's showing. I know I'm not "ready" physically and cardiovascularly, but I'm just going to jump in, do my best, and use the pause button when needed.

Jay~
Silly guy...no appologies for joining us on accident...we're glad to have you! Wow...sounds like you and your wife have been through a lot! So glad she's on the mend....and great job on filling out the short sleeves! And I like your perfect day check list.

Ali~
Being sore is good thing... it means you did it right! And no worries about being weaker at the pushups, etc... I'm experiencing the same thing. But what's cool is that you will get back to where you were much faster the second time around. I love "muscle memory"...it's a good thing, as Martha would say.

Dean~
So sorry to hear about your back... that's a bummer! Scott is having major neck issues right now also... no fun! Hey, I'll go insane with you also!

Make it a great day everyone!

Well, some good, some things not so good. I have been trying to P90X with the wife, but she uses the air bands and air weights. I can't do real weights and do the whole hour. I can't do what I was doing before (sorta of a blend of P90X and the 300 workout) in the morning and do the X with her at night. She wants to exercise late at night and I will tell you with the days I work I am beat at ten, film at eleven. I am working through this and think I will do my "real" exercise in the morning and play exercise when she wants to at night. I have picked up some supplements and have decided the only way to get in the protein is to have a protein shake without much shake. She is taking some suggestions on the diet and has lost about 2 lbs this week or 10 days. I am turning to my secret weapon, broccoli. Also frozen vegetables, the side kick to broccoli man. With a protein shake and veggies to fill me up, a egg beater breakfast and a small piece of cheat chocolate or a lowfat fudgesicle, I think I have a plan.

I am learning to like green tea. It is easier since I found out it isn't really green.

best to all,
Jay

Hi Everyone! My name is Angi Sizemore and I am looking forward to seeing what I can accomplish in the next 30 days. I turn 40 next week but I do not wish to keep the body that I currently have which is looking soft and frumpy.

My biggest issue right now is my diet so I look forward to hearing tips and encouragement from everyone to eat clean and as Shannon put it to me in a recent email ..... Stay Away From The Sweets! Stay Away From The Sweets! LOL

I am currently doing ChaLean Xtreme Lean Phase in the hopes of some day being able to tackle P90X like so many of you are.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday!

Hey guys"

Been too busy enjoying summer finally to post Hot, sunny and humid with cicadas humming away, just lie summer should be! Have been doing a fair amount of running, and did C & B and I'be got abs on Friday.

Dani: Yep, I think I am insane too! Should be interesting, but thank goodness for the pause button!

Angi: Welcome: I just finished CEX and still doing her Lean for Life phase until after my vacation when I will hit Insanity! I have already done P90X, loved it, but must say I enjoyed CEX more. However, I always fall back on to P90X workouts when I don't know what to do!

Dean: Ouch! I feel for you. Been there and I know it is not fun. Try a pillow under your legs or between your knees. It offers some relief (besides some good drugs!) C'mon, man, only 3 weeks to we get Insane!

Michelle: Yes, really looking forward to the trip, however, the good weather has just hit here, so my veggie garden will be reaping the benefits while I am gone!

Shannon: Yay, you caved and order Insanity. Looks like you will be starting before the rest of us, so you need to let us know. Yeah, are weather is finally what we are supposed to be having, and I ain't complaining, even though it will be over 90 with the humidex factor tomorrow!

Waving hi to anyone I missed

Hi Frenz!

Sorry I've been missing... lots of stuff going on, and I've been slacking on the workouts!emoticon I haven't done anything in DAYS! I've been anxiously awaiting Insanity, and for some reason just blew off the last several days ....got side tracked, and also gearing up mentally to torture myself with it. And it finally came today! It's such a beautiful package! I've been browsing through the book, and plan on doing the fit test today...and will prob start tomorrow. I took my before pics & measurements yesterday.

I still need to figure out how to use my heart rate monitor. I have to say that I am a little nervous about my heart (mitro valve prolapse....heart murmor). In the past when my heart rate has gotten too high, I have had "episodes" that were a little scary. But when I just slow down, it usually goes away after about a minute. I wish I knew if this was dangerous, or if it's ok...Hmmm.... I will for sure pay attention and adjust my workouts as I go.

Jay~
Sounds like you have a good plan to switch your main workout to a time that works best for YOUR body. That's great that your wife has lost a bit, and so cool you're giving her such good support. And funny about the Green Tea...I'm trying to like it myself. I need to quit the coffee and yummy vanilla carmel creamer! This is my last bottle!

Angi~
Hey girl! I'm so glad you joined us here! I was hoping you would. Did you say your birthday is on Thursday? Isn't it cool that you'll in better shape at 40 than you were in your 30's? No soft & frumpy for you...you'll be a hard body in no time! Good job with ChaLEAN... keep it up!

Carol~
Glad you've been enjoying the summer, and still getting some workouts in. I've been very random myself this summer...it's a bummer to be in my worst shape during swimsuit season! But for once I've just been relaxed about it. Time to get serious now though! I'm ready to sweat!

Ok, I'll be back to report on how my fit test went! I prob won't do so well since I've been slacking this summer... but that give more room for improvement, right?

Ok, I'm back!

Just did the Insanity fit test...it's a good workout in itself! I actually surprised myself and did pretty good!

The heat is back, so I'm going to make sure I get my workouts done early, before it gets too hot. I wish I was starting on a Monday, but I don't want to put it off that long.

See ya tomorrow!

Hey guys:

My workout buddy is back, we did Burn 1 of CEX. think I prefer cardio LOL!

Shannon: Wow you mean business. You just got it and, literally, jumped right in! Just make use of the pause button, or, like I have done with preview, stopped and watched, and jumped right back in when I could breathe!

Summer is usually my 'chubby' season, my slimmest is around March. However, this summer, I am keeping it in check. But I will be going to California wine country, so......

Tomorrow, Lean intervals and abs

Hello All,

Shannon thanks for your words of encouragement. It would be fabulous to get back in to single digit sized jeans at 40 years old. I am feeling really good about the commitment I have made. I need to get my before photos and stats done so that I can keep track.

Accountibility: CE Burn Internals last night. Had to hit pause a couple of times and lower my intensity level a bit. My evening was a bit screwed up with a grocery store visit and having to cook dinner because my hubby was playing mechanic on his truck so I didn't start my workout until 8:00pm. I think starting that late was a mistake but at the time it seemed like it was better than sitting on my rear watching TV. It took me a very long time to recover last night.

I hoping that the cardio sessions will start getting a little easier. emoticon CE Lean Circuit 2 tonight.

Have a great Wednesday!

Hi Guys!

Well, I did it! Day one of Insanity DONE! ...or do I count the fit test as day one? Anyway, it was awesome! Hard, yes... but do-able. I was sucking wind just after the warm up! It goes by really fast. I did great during the main cardio, but I struggled a bit with completing all the plank stuff at the end. But I just did my best and forgot the rest!

I used my heart rate monitor, and it was nice to be able to see how I was doing. I'm still having an issue with my left shoulder though. It's been hurt for several weeks now...not sure what's up. It keeps getting almost better, then I'll tweek it again doing something silly like pulling my sports bra off. I was hoping it would be ok with the Insanity workout since it doesn't use weights, but I did get a few zingers during the plank stuff. Hopefully I can keep in check and get it healed.

Carol~
Good job on keeping your weight in check this summer... and have fun at the wine country! Sounds fun!

Angi~
Good job on pushing play instead of watching tv...that's the kind of comittment that will get you results! Keep it up!

Ok, time to shower up... I need it!
Then off to get my son all registered for Middle School! I can't believe how the time has flown!

Make it great day!

Hey Frenz!

Yes, I've been MIA - since beachbody changed the way we get to the message boards, I haven't gotten into how to navigate and do my daily posts. I'll work on that emoticon

I too joined the InSanity craze and completed day 10 today with Plyo Cardio Circuit (same workout that Shannon did today). Yes, like Shannon, it kicked my butt - but I powered thru it and did my best with the plank ab workouts towards the end of the workout - I still have to take several rest seconds during that portion of the circuit, but I did my best! When I'm done with these workouts there isn't a dry section on my entire body - drenched from head to toe - emoticon

Have a great one Frenz! Make it count!

Hey Frenz:

Did Fat Blaster and I've got Abs from CEX. I, too, have a pain, seems to be in my lat. Doesn't bother me doing pullups, pushups or weights, but is really paining me today. Can't figure it out, seems to hurt when I turn torso a certain way, almost like a cramp.

Dawn: Wow, already day 10. I have only done the preview cd which I think is the plyo cardio and, yep, it's a killer. I would be interested to know after your first month, what changes you are seeing or feeling.

Shannon: Saw your post of FB. Yep. need 2 towels, one to mop the floor and the other to wipe out the sweat streaming into your eyes. Now you gals make me anxious to start, but will wait until September.

Ciao

Carol

Hi Frenz!
I've been MIA but still working out. Have only missed a few workouts here and there but still going strong. Having a hard time sitting down at the computer to post with it not getting dark 'till bedtime! To many things to do outsideemoticon
My team came in 2nd in our "Wunder Woman Triathlon" I participated in on Sunday. I did the bike portion and loved it! My lungs felt strong, my legs felt strong...it was awesome riding my bike like that. I rode 10.2 miles in 35 minutes on a mountain bike with road tires.....I passed sooooo many women! very empoweringemoticon Couldn't have done it with that intensity if I wasn't friends with Chalean and Tony....lol!

I have one more w/o with CEX Lean Circuit 3 then that will make it two programs I've completed this year. I really like CE but am finding that certain parts of me aren't responding the way I want to see. So the last couple weeks I have been mixing up my cardio some... so I'm doing the treadclimber 20-30 minutes every other day and AbRipperX right after, and CE Lean circuit 2 times a week. I decided my middle was getting softer than I wanted it to just focusing on CE. So I'm doing it Jennifer style! So I will finish up my Summer doing cardio/abs 3 times a week and CE 2 times a week. So far so good. I like this combo for now. Will probably be looking for something to mix it up with come Fall but I'll worry about that later.
I'm kinda curious about that InSanity work out. Is it high impact?

Well, I hope everyone is well. I will try to post more frequently.

Keep pushing play!

Jen

Hi Frenz!

Well, my body was feeling pretty tired this morning, and slightly sore. I felt it gradually come on throughout the day yesterday. That must mean I did some good work! I'm excited to feel that my calves are sore...this is a place where I'm really lacking development. I was also STARVING all day yesterday, but I made good food choices for the most part.

This morn I did Day 3 of Insanity (yesterday I forgot to count the fit test as Day 1). It's funny...when I'm standing in front of the tv with the remote in my hand, and it's time to really start, I get nervous...I'm thinking "Wow...I'm really going to do this". But as you get into it, you just take one move at a time and do your best.

One word of advise for those doing Insanity or about to do it... Make sure you DO NOT skip the warm up or the stretch. You get such a good workout from those alone! I'm totally sucking wind after the warm up. And with other workout programs, I often do my own stretches to speed things up but with this one, it's like a mini Yoga at the same time...it really works your core and butt.

Carol~
About your pain...do you think it could be a rib out? That happens to me sometimes...but that is more of a sharp pain, not a cramp...Hmmm. Hope it feels better soon!

Jen~
Hey Girl! Great to see you! Congrats on your Triathalon...Great job! You ARE a Wunder Woman! You asked about Insanity... yes, it has some high impact stuff...similar to the Jump Knee Tucks in the X... also lots of Jacks, Jogging hi knees, etc. I've done 3 videos so far though...haven't previewed the rest, I'm just doing them "sight unseen" as they come up in my rotation.

Marcie~
Hi Cous! I missed you here! Are you going to get back into a program? Stick with us, ok? Love ya masses!

Ok, time to shower (I used to be able to stay in my workout clothes all day because I didn't sweat that much...but not any more!)

Make it a great day!

Accountability - Day 11 of InSanity - Today did Cardio Recovery

Shannon - Glad to hear you're enjoying the challenge with InSanity - I so agree with how important it is to do the warmup, stretch and the cool down - I too am making sure I follow along and think its key to helping work thru the soreness you get from these amazing workouts. Today even with the Cardio recovery, I made sure I followed and find its a great workout, stretch and yoga session.

Carol - Yes, I'll let you know after the first 30 days what kind of changes I'm seeing. I noticed even after day 1 I was really sore from head to toe. Even in week two I'm continueing to feel sore - so I know I'm doing new things and reaching the level of intensity I need with my workouts to get those results I want to see.

Marcie - Hi girl! Glad to see you're getting out and enjoying this great weather. I too have a garden (very small one) and love to get out there.

Jen - Glad to see you continue to Push Play - I'm sure you'll agree these programs are addictive and are such a huge part of our daily lifestyle. Every days challenges seem to be more bareable when we are working out on a regular basis.

Hi Frenz!

Look what I made yesterday... it's an Insanity Calendar, Fit Test, and I added a place to put measurements at the same time as each fit test (you do 5 fit tests during the program).

I just realized that I can upload pdf files on the thread now...

Enjoy!
