Hello everyone. My name is BeckyAnne and will be starting SI6 the day after the Labor Day Weekend.

Actually, I started about a month ago, but due to circumstances around here, was not able to keep up with it on a daily basis as I wanted, so I am going to start the program all over again and not stop till at the end!

I have been an active member of TBB since 2007. I originally started with Tony's Power 90 1-2 and 3-4. I have lost 32 lbs, gone from a sz 18 to sz 11, but I still have my 'problem areas', which are my hips, fanny and this stupid poochy belly. I KNOW that this program will target these areas specifically and blast them away and get rid of that pesky 7 pounds that wants to hold to me.

On Tuesday, Sept 8 I will be logging into WOWY daily (join me??). This will help keep me accountable. I will also be posting my daily meal plans. I have just acquired some new recipes (that are so easy to make). If I have any that you might like the recipe for, just let me know and will be glad to post it for you along with the nutritional values.

I wanted to start this thread a few days early so come Tuesday, can get down to business.

Stop by and give me a shout, would love to hear from you.

Hope everyone has a fun and safe holiday weekend. Don't forget to push play. Will see you in a couple days.

I am starting on Monday. This is my first time doing this (or any home based) workout, and I am super motivated. I have spent the last week preparing my mind and my pantry, and have been eating very well and am satisfied. I think I have my diet pretty simplified to where it is easy to follow. I have taken before pictures, taken my measurements, and watched the videos to see what I am in for. I have not weighed myself because I don't own a scale, but I am not concerned so much about my weight as I am about how I look and feel and getting this fat off! I am a size 18. I will be posting my workouts daily, as well, to hold me accountable. Congratulations and I hope we both get the results we want on this program... I have very high hopes!

Hi - I am excited to have someone starting the same program at the same time!

You sound as tho you have the right attitude and determination, emoticon

I am terrible at taking photos, but I also know these will help keep me accountable and promise to get them posted ASAP. You are correct in not worrying about what the scale says (actually, I and a few others call it that rotten piece of scrap metal on the floor). Many times, when you first get started, you won't see a drop in weight right away anyway, but you WILL see changes in the tape measure and you WILL see changes in the way your clothes fit and you WILL be feeling so much better about yourself. This is also why photos are so important --THEY NEVER LIE--.
Most important thing is get all the JUNK out of your cupboards and refrigerator so there are no temptations. Stick with your nutrition plan and PUSH PLAY.

We're are going to do this! No doubt about it!

Have a great day. I will be starting tomorrow. (:=BeckyAnne emoticon

Hi BeckyAnne,
This is my very first time doing SI6. I just started this morning doing the start it up. I will log in daily with you and we can support each other. I am bigger than I ever have been in my life. Even when I gave birth to my children

I have a lot more weight to lose than you as I am in size 18 right now. Not really sure what we are suppose to do with this thread but guide me and I am in.

See ya tomorrow!!

Hi everyone!

I meant to start Slim in 6 today but alas, it did not come in time. Instead, I did P90X CardioX. I figure I can do that for a few days until I received Si6. I'm supposed to get it on Thursday! I'm a little behind you guys but would love to join and log into WOWY as well!

I'm currently 5'6", 165 pounds, size 12 or 14. I'm hoping to get down to a size 6 or 8, around 135-140 pounds. emoticon

Good morning everyone --

Great workout. Started SI6 this morning. I usually do my exercises in the afternoon but decided to change it around a bit this time. Glad I did. I have a lot going on and knowing myself as I do, I may not have gotten to them this afternoon. --Actually, I have my dining room tore apart as it is finally going to get a fresh coat of paint. Once I get started, I like to keep on going. I like to paint, but emptying out the china cabinets and moving the hutches are a royal pain, so I'll probably be at this for a couple of days.

This morning after my workout, for Breakfast I had my Shakeology.
morning snack: Apple
Lunch: Grilled ham and cheese sandwich w/small green salad
afternoon snack: Sugar free pudding cup
Supper: Spanish style chicken and rice w/steamed broccoli (the recipe calls for asparagus, but I don't do asparagus)

I absolutely love Shakeology for breakfast. I am not much of a breakfast eater. But I KNOW that I have to have breakfast. I don't do cold cereals and definitly not oatmeal. Eggs are ok, but not my favorite. For a while I ate cottage cheese and fruit, or english muffins with PB. But when Shakeology came out, I had to try it. It is wonderful, not to mention the most nutritious meal of the day. And for me, being a chocoholic, gives me my chocolate fix every day. So simple, just throw it into your blender with milk (I use 2%) and crushed ice if you want, and there you have instant breakfast.

TAMMY: Hello. So glad to see you. Absolutely~~ We'll keep each other motivated day to day. I was a sz 18 when I first started--I was so round and so ill with myself. And what is worse, I went through my first 90 days, lost inches and lbs, my ego got in the way and I said 'looking good' and I slacked off and guess what? Got round again. Seems I didn't learn a thing. Just keep in mind this is not a diet and quick fix weight loss. (like I did) this is a lifestyle change. Once you get the hang of eating properly it will become second nature to you. As far as I am concerned, we don't eat diet food -- not in this lifetime --we eat normal, everyday good food. Recipes that your entire family will enjoy. And the exercises will help build muscle (not bulk up - just get stronger) and sculpt your body to the shape you desire.

I have lost weight and inches, but still have this awful (wide) fanny which goes along with the hips-- and my tummy, well I am going to be blunt, am tired of wearing the kind of undies that 'hold me in'. I will get some photos posted soon -- pictures don't lie --and you can see what I am talking about. You do the same, and we'll work on it together.

Don't give up or give in. You may get a little sore the first week or so, but I promise you it will get easier. My rule of thumb is each day, push yourself just one rep further than the day before and stick to your nutruition plan. It can be done. (and remember to keep yourself hydrated --water, water, water).

Well, I need to get out my paint can and get started. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Hi My workout buddies,
This morning I was rushed so I did the cardio from the 10 min trainer. Pretty much I will do that in the mornings as I just don't have an hour to do cardio in the morning.(single mom 2 kids) My main workout will be in the evenings. I am at Ramp it up and have to admit it is kicking my butt in a good way. I dont use the bands just yet right now my own body weight is resistance enough I am 5'2" and 180lbs.

breakfast Special K with skim milk and fresh strawberries
snack apple
lunch lemon pepper grilled chicken salad (no dressing just water and pepper)
snack yogurt
dinner steamed brown rice with egg whites and carrots and peas cooked in a wok with very little olive oil

I absolutely agree. Nothing depresses me more than feeling like I can't eat like a normal person. Give me too much lettuce, red peppers and broccoli and I am guaranteed to fall off the wagon completely. I have to work on watching my portions, and eating healthy the majority of the time.

I also LOVE Shakeology, especially with peanut butter & a banana. YUM! I just can't figure out when to fit it into my day. I can't do it for breakfast because the blender will wake up my son (big no no!). Lunch is difficult because I'm at work. Dinner is possible I guess, but I usually end up eating something normal (brown rice, protein, etc). Sometimes I use Shakeology as one of my 6 meals of the day. In other words, I do it as a snack. Hopefully that is helping me more than hurting me!

Another key to success for me is going to be working out in the morning. I need to get my workout out of the way or else too many things can happen during the day that will result in me being too tired or busy for my evening workout. I worked out this morning and feel wonderful. It's also a good way to start my day because it makes me want to eat healthy all day.

Glad to find this group. I know I'm going to need tons of support.

Hi all!

My name is Carla and I am starting Slim in 6 today as well. I usually workout when I get home from work because my mornings are so crazy. After my 2 hour commute home everyday the exercise helps me destress.

My biggest problem is going to be my diet. I AM A JUNK FOOD JUNKIE! I have cleared my pantry of all junk which is a start but my biggest concern is work. Someone is always bringing junk food into the office and I know I will have to dig deep to resist, resist, resist the temptation. If you have any pointers (other than stop eating that Junk) on how you avoid junk food please share.

This is my first time ever posting to a message board and I am looking forward to the daily encouragement from all of you.

I am a single mom with 2 kids as well. I agree, the best time to do this is in the morning before they wake up. Tomorrow will be day 3 of Start It Up. I started the food program about 2 weeks ago, and I am already getting people telling me I look good and asking if I'm losing weight. My muscles are sore and I actually like it because I feel like I am actually using my muscles!

I haven't tried the Shakeology. I am one of those weirdos that actually enjoys healthy foods. I have gained and lost the same 50 pounds at least 3 times in the last 10 years. Every time I gain the weight back and then when I start losing again, I kick myself for having waisted so much time fat, because I feel so good and am so satisfied when my diet is healthy. The problem is that I get caught up in life and kids and stop getting my food prepped. That's when it's dangerous for me... I think, "It's easier to just run to taco bell..." Not good!!! I don't even like Taco Bell, LOL!

Keep me posted on your progress... We can do this!!!

Good Morning everyone! Good to see you! emoticon

How were your workouts yesterday? I'm not sore -- yet, but then I have just begun with 'start it up'. Got a feeling once I go into 'ramp it up' I'll be talking differently. But am looking forward to it. Had someone take a few pictures of my problem areas yesterday. Still on my camera, will get them posted when I can spend some time here at my computer. Am embarrassed--they are awful, but will get them posted.

Todays menu will go like this:

Breakfast after workout: Shakeology
Morning snack: Apple
Lunch: Roast beef sandwich w/horseradish sauce, sliced tomato
Snack: Sugar free pudding cup
Supper: Cornmeal Crusted Cod w/sliced carrots, brown rice mixed with onion and mushrooms

KELLEY: Absolutely --no diet food. I love this program as it is the ONLY one I have ever found that actually teaches you how to cook on a daily basis, watching your calorie and carb intake, and does not leave you hungry all the time!
Morning exercising seems to be doing well for me, too. Get up, (then wake up-I'm not really known to be a morning person) do them before my shower and get on with my day.
Using Shakeology for snacks is good! Shakeology will never hurt you no matter what time of day you use it. Have you maybe tried blending it in the evening and putting in a glass in the refrig? I have done that before. It does not separate, all you would need to do is take a spoon and stir it well in the morning.

CARLA: Hi! Glad you could join us. OMG! A 2 hour commute? Hopefully that is not one way. I would just imagine exercising in the evening does help relieve the stress.
Junk Food in the office~~that is a toughie. I wish I had some solid advice for you. How far away from the breakroom is your desk? How often do you visit the breakroom? Instead of going there during morning and afternoon breaks -- or even lunch hour -- is it possible for you to change shoes and go out the back door for a brisk walk? When 'junk' is being brought in for all to enjoy, take a look at some of your co-workers and tell yourself 'uh uhhh, not me, I'm not like that anymore'.

MELISSA: CANCUN??? How exciting! emoticon

We'll keep you motivated! By time that trip comes around, You'll be gorgeous, I guaranteeee! Have you started on a nutrition plan? If so, stick to it! (if not, we'll get you started on one if you wish) I'm not going to tell you it is simple simple simple, changing bad habits are never easy at first, but as you progress, it does get easier, and the results -I just cannot express how happy you're going to be with yourself.

Superev: That's great that you love 'healthy foods'. I have to say, tho, if you do, you ought to try Shakeology (dumb name for the healthiest meal of the day). I remember the days of running to Taco Bell and Mcdonalds 'cause it was fast and easy. But if you like, I can post for you the difference in calorie and fat content from taco bell to homemade. (and homemade are so easy to make) I think you would be horrified. Boy, I sure was when I found out. And do you know that there is sugar in the french fries?? Those were always my downfall. I use to go to McDonalds and just get a large order of fries.
I think that is awesome that people are already seeing a difference in you. That, I know is such a great feeling! CONGRATULATIONS emoticon

I think we all have great attitudes and determination. Nothing is going to stop us! I'm getting ready to logg into WOWY. Hope to see you there.

Have a great day. Be back tomorrow. Keep Pushing Play (:=BeckyAnne emoticon

I did SIU last night and boy it was tough! I felt really good afterwards and woke up this morning feeling refreshed with a pep in my step. It is so exciting to see the posts from others with the wide variety of situations we can learn from each other and succeed together.

BECKYANNE: Unfortunately the 2 hours is a one way commute. URGHH!!! I am glad that I have Slim in 6 to help me deal. You have a really good idea about leaving and taking a walk. I usually stay in my office during lunch time and eat at my desk so going outside maybe the solution. When I exercise I tend to make better food choices.

I am looking forward to the results that are forthcoming from all.

Good for you!!! Last time I lost weight, I had the same problem with the junk food in the office or the bread basket at work lunches. You know what worked for me? I sat on my hands. No joke. When the junk food came, I would slip my hands under my thighs until I just forgot about it, or until the junk food was gone. Kind of a dumb trick but it worked for me! As for the cupcakes, just keep telling yourself you can have one in a bit. Then go a few hours later to get one and if you office is anything like mine, they will all be gone. Awww shucks!

OK - so I'm really sad today. I did not go to bed early enough last night, so I ended up exhausted this morning and did not wake up for my work out. Ugh. I'm SO mad at myself. And it's only Day 2. I know I shouldn't be so hard on myself but I don't even have that good of an excuse. I was up watching the darn Jon Gosselin interview!!! See! Not even a good excuse at all!!! I might work out tonight, although then I worry about being too tired to work out in the morning tomorrow again. I really need to do this morning workout thing. It's the only way I'll stick to it.

I definitely noticed a difference in my mood today. I was just more negative all around. I need endorphins!

I need to do that. I will blend it at night and hopefully have it for breakfast, or even when I get home from work. That makes it a super easy snack to grab. Thanks for the tip! Now if I can only get my lazy butt to do it! >_>

Hi Everyone,
My name is Shannon and I just started SI6 again. A month ago I did about 2 weeks of SIU so this time I went strait to RIU. I had a hard time sticking to it before because I have a 3 1/2 month old son and I just went back to work. So I am trying to figure out a schedule. I can't work out it the morning because there is just not enough time between getting me and the baby ready to go out the door. So I started working out at night. The only thing that sucks is that I didn't get to work out until 9:30 last night, but I was really proud of myself that I didn it at all. I really want to stick with it this time. I have about 45 pounds to lose and I would love to lose 25 before my son turns 6 months old. I hope that I can lend some support to you ladies.

Don't be so hard on yourself. We all fall but as long as you get right back up and move forward I think you are winning. If you don't do SIU tonight you could always used it as your rest day and do some light activity tonight so you can get up in the morning ready to push play. For me the evenings are best so I come in the house, change my clothes without sitting down and start working out.

I love your idea about sitting on your hands (that's sheer Genius!!!!) and you are right food only last at most 30 minutes in the kitchen.
