Hi all... newbie on the boards...

So here is my deal... I have struggled with my weight my ENTIRE life one way or another... this year I am turning 30 and I decided I am tired of the struggle... so I making some serious changes for a better, healthier, more energetic and much happier me... with the help of Beachbody. Since April of 2009 I have gone from 226.5 pounds to my current weight of 186.5 pounds.

I am a cardio queen and loose skin is a concern of mine... already showing signs... so I am hoping Chalean can help me out with some serious weight training.

Yesterday was Day One... I did the Burn Circuit One followed by Kenpo X (need my cardio!). Today's workout was AMAZING though... I love... LOVE... Burn Intervals!!! Holy moly, were my legs a shaking!!!... I felt amazing when I was done... Chalean is so motivating and kept me pushing hard the whole way through. I followed it with Ab Burner as layed out in the calendar. Today was supposed to be a rest day but I am heading back in for four 12 hour shifts tomorrow so I thought I would switch my rest days around to work to my advantage this week.

Anyways, I'll keep ya posted on my progress... and keep pushing play with me... I need the motivation!

I am sooo proud of you for that drastic weight drop! How amazing is that??? Almost 40lbs!!! wow... What workout were you doing before Chalene Extreme?

I just recently started with CE as well..

I am right where you started... lol 225lbs... (heaviest I've ever been!!!) and 27..
I also want to change my body before 30 and before I start teaching elementary school next yr!!! I don't want to be the fat teacher! lol

You´re a great motivation!!! Hope to hear from you often... keep up the great progress!emoticon

Hi Irma...

My highest weight was 253 lbs... over the past few years I managed to bring my weight down to 226 pounds by working out sporadically and going on diet rampages that usually only lasted a few short weeks. I have pretty much all the Beachbody products... P90x, P90, Hip Hop Abs, Yoga Booty, Turbo Jam and now Chalean X.

I know it can seem daunting when you are over 200 lbs... but trust me every pound lost is worth every bead of sweat! If I can do this you can too. It really comes down to deciding that you want change, knowing the reasons behind your decision, reminding yourself of them daily (by the minute if you must) and committing yourself to achieving those goals. As I working mom, I know that achieving our goals does not come without some sacrifice... but what I have really learned is that often it is us moms that our sacrificing ourselves... namely our health.

What has worked for me is planning my workouts week by week... I take the Chalean calendar and plan what workouts I am doing and on what day and then I keep it out somewhere noticeable to remind me to be accountable and not let myself down. It is amazing how I have changed in that respect... I used to let myself down all the time without even realzing it... to meet the needs of others... crazy whenI think about it.

I too still have a long way to go on this journey... tomorrow is day 3 for me on plan... I am heading back to work for four days of 12 hour shifts...which means up at 4 a.m., out the door by 5:15 a.m., at work by 6:30 a.m., off work around 6:45 p.m. and not home until 7:45 - 8 p.m. at night... and guess what?... I have a 5 year old who is going to want to spend time with her mom when she walks in the door as well as dinner to eat, lunch to make for the next day... and my Chalean workout!... oh and lets not forget sleep!... it's going to be rough... but I have made that commitment to myself... and you can too.

I am here for ya!... good luck... keep me posted on your plan and commitment to yourself... turning 30 might just be the best thing that happened to both of us!!!

Hope everything is going well...
How are those 12hr shifts coming along? I've been there..

You know I also have a lot of the BB collection... it started with Power 90 which I liked but never commited to the 90 days... I like more variety...
Then I got turbo jam which loved but never had the time because of work and school....
I also bought Hip Hop abs but I find that guy a little annoying so I didnt last a wk on it.. and I ordered Slim in 6 while I was doing my student teaching... I dont know what I was thinking, thinking I would have the time to workout!

But like I said... this time I feel different about things... I'm really looking forward to that 30 day mark... today is day 11 and I feel great thus far. I checked my weight this morning and Im down to 220 from 225... which I am very happy about emoticon

I also hope to hear on your progress... I really think you should join me on the the "D Train" thread... Deeee, Kappie, Jeannette, and Charo are very nice, friendly and helpful =)

Hi everyone! I'm Monie and wanted to know if I could pop in here and join this group as well.

I started Chalean Extreme (which I call "CLX"! lol) just yesterday, and did Burn 1 with Ab Burner. I attempted to do CLX a few months ago, but only made it into week 3 of the Burn phase. But this time, I am determined to finish the complete CLX 90 days! emoticon All I need is a good group to join and be a part of for the next 90 days.

Today is supposed to be a 'rest' day on the CLX rotation calendar, but I'm going to do some Turbo Jam cardio instead of resting.

Hoping to get to know all of you!! emoticon

Hi Everybody!

I would love to join your group! I received my CE set last week and am currently waiting on my weights to arrive in the mail. I have worked out with resistance bands in the past and they just don't feel right to me.

I have never been an avid exerciser. I go through phases where I'll work out occasionally but generally dread going to the gym. About 2 months ago, I decided it was time for a change. I was finally over my year long rest after grad school (mental and physical). I really felt like it took that long to recover. HAHA! I feel like I've found a groove in working out at home.

I'm turning 30 next April and I really want to look and feel great. I'll probably be starting CE next Monday if all works out and I get my weights in time. In the mean time, I'll continue doing my Slim in 6 workouts and get psyched up for next week!

Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Welcome Itstime, Monie and Karo!!!

Yay! This thread is really going in a good direction...

Tomorrow I will start my 3rd week. Karo I too was one of those people that occasionally exercise from time to time... School, work, homework, family... was always definitely an excuse, but I definitely feel its different this time.

Let's all stick to this wonderful program. I'm sure we will all do great with our help and support.

Today is my rest day. Yay! I would love to squeeze in a mild program today... but no way... my body is really asking for a rest so I better listen! =)

Today is also my day off from work so I am definitely going to take advantage and do some household cleaning... yikes! I have lots to do...

I've always worked out on my own and that's probably why I fell off all the time. Nice there's other out there.
It's a crappy day out 'rain' and wasn't going to work out with ChaLean today but reading what others had to say I'm going to do Burn 3(2nd week) before going to yoga/pilate class. Might end up being to much weights for one day. Bring it!

Hello everyone!! Thanks so much for the warm welcome to this thread; I really appreciate it! emoticon

A little history about me -- I've been a member of BB for quite a few years (2004 actually) and I first started out doing Slim in 6. I did Slim in 6 for a total of 12 weeks, before I moved onto Power 90. I completed the 12 weeks of Power 90 and from the time I started Slim in 6 till when I completed Power 90, I went from a size 16/18 down to a size 4. It was great! However, as the years passed by, life got in the way (as it does sometimes!), and I noticed the weight slowly starting to creep back up on me. As a result, over the past few years, I pretty much gained all my weight back. That is when I started Turbo Jam (which I LOVE my TJ!!! emoticon) and TJ helped me to shed alot of the weight and inches. So now I'm turning to CLX to continue to lose the weight, and tone up in the process.

I live in Atlanta, GA and yesterday was not a good day in Atlanta; if you've heard on the News. We've had torrential rains in my area, which has caused major flooding, damage and road closures. Thank goodness my home sits on top a hill, so I was spared the flooding. However, my next door neighbor was not so lucky, as the waters from the creek behind our homes continued to rise, which led to almost a lake in his front yard! It was quite a scary and tense situation yesterday, as all we could do was watch the waters continue to rise. Today will be spent cleaning up and assessing any damage my neighbors suffered, and helping out any way I can....serious situation here.

So thank goodness yesterday was my 'rest' day, as I wouldn't have been able to workout anyway. But today I'm on tap to do Burn 2, with Ab Burner -- can't wait!! emoticon

I'm going to add you all as 'buddies' on here. I will be in WOWY at 9am EST if anyone wants to join me! Enjoy your day!

How is everyone's workout going? Every day is a new day and we get a little closer to our goals... so lets keep going!!!

As for me, I was supposed to do Burn 1 yesterday (3rd wk) but I ran out of time and was just exhausted by night time...
So I didd burn 1 today along with fat blaster and plan on doing burn 2 tomorrow.

I did my burn2 this morning since I had an hr to kill.... I'm really glad I did it this morning since I usually work out in the evenings...
I'm really hoping to gradually switch over to mornings... otherwise I get this energy at night which doesnt really allow me to sleep!!!

Sorry to hear about the floods, Monie. I'm sure it's really stressful for everyone involved.

I just found out that my weights will be arriving on Friday and I'm very excited to start CE on Monday!

Irma - I prefer working out in the morning too but can only drag myself out of bed to workout at that time about 3 times a week. The other two times I work out in the evening. I would really like to start working out 5 times a week in the morning because I think it helps my energy level though out the day...not to mention, it's just good to get it out of the way. emoticon

For all of you who have started CE, do you find it's better to work out at the same time everyday (especially to allow your muscles to repair)? What's your strategy?

So I had a big moment yesterday. There was an office work party at which they provided pizza. I totally resisted. I was very proud of myself. I had brought my lunch and actually ate it instead of throwing it back in the refrigerator for today.

Evening Ladies,

I'm starting week 3 of Burn 1 tonight after Greys Anatomy.

I prefer to work out in the morning. Than that way I only have to shower once and it gives me energy for the day.Keep a routine if you can than that way you're not trying to squeeze it in your already busy day, like most of us. I work most days starting at 10:00 am so I try to start working out before 8:00. Which works for me.

I'm seeing results. I've lost 5 pounds and 1" around my waist in 2 weeks.
I'm thinking I should have bought the bow flex dial weights instead of buying heavier weights as I need them. Most likely I will end up spending more doing it this way. Oh well.

Monie hope everything is still dry for you and sorry for your neighbors.

Hello ladies! My family and I are fine and didn't suffer any damage from the floods here in Atlanta. Thank goodness! My neighbors had minor damage to their garages; but nothing a little mop and broom won't cure. So all is well on my street! emoticon And they have finally opened back up most of the roads in my area, so I was able to get out to the grocery store yesterday. YAY; I was beginning to panic about that.

Today I did Burn Intervals. Call me crazy, but I LOVE Burn Intervals!! LOL Tomorrow I'll be doing Burn 3 with ab burner. I had to switch some workouts around this week because of the weather here, but I'm still getting my workouts in.

Thanks so much for your well wishes! I really appreciate it. Glad to see everyone still pushing play and keeping things moving and shaking! emoticon

I will check back in tomorrow; getting very sleepy. And its only 9pm! lol emoticon

I'll be doing Burn Interval and Ab Burner in about an hour for the 3rd time.
What's everyone else been doing?

Has anyone experienced extreme hunger all day?
The last couple of days I can't loose the feeling of being really hungry. Even after eating.
If so what did you do to fix it?

Went to TWO weddings this weekend! Geez! It was a lot of work. HA!

Starting Burn 1 tomorrow for the first time. Finally got my weights this weekend and feel rested and ready to start this new adventure.

Gonna try my hardest to wake up early every day to workout. I work at 8:00 AM on Mondays and Wednesdays so those days are going to be rough. At least the CE vids are only 35 to 40 mins. I KNOW we can do this!

I did-both days. Just got done doing Burn 3 and I jogged this afternoon after work for 2.5 miles. Wind and than rain got in the way. Feel Great. I'm glad I didn't rest today.
I'll rest from Chalean tomorrow by going to my yoga/pilate class for 90 minutes after work.

Kara did you watch Grey's last Thursday. How sad that George died.? Wonder what he's doing now that he's off the show. I wonder if he is really off the show or if he will all of a sudden show up. What do you think?
