My Insanity Results
9/24/09 3:17 PM
OK, I'll go 1st.

Let me start by saying that Insanity was hard. I was scared to start month 1 but I conquered it. I was really scared for month 2 but again I conquered it. It's all relative and you can do anything you put your mind to. My goal with Insanity was to get lean and bring out my abs. 3 weeks into insanity people started saying I looked to skinny and I listened. I upped my calories and put on 5 lbs. I didn't like the way I looked so I said, forget them and I dropped the weight again. I lost a total of 11 lbs (5 of that twice) with Insanity and got super cardio results. Thanks Shaun T and Beachbody for my super body.

Coach Laddyboy great work. I plan on doing insanity after two rounds of P90X. I can tell I will need to have lost more fat and gained more strength before I try insanity. I'm in my third week of P90X. Had you done P90X prior to insanity? Dancillot2

Thanks JRH3. Diet and focus on keeping the core tight is the key. You can do it.

Thanks Girl!..I did 1 round of P90X with Plyo 2x's per week. Insanity is like Plyo on steroids. Tons and tons of pushup too.
You may want to try it after 1 round of P90X. You can go at your own pace but it's a fat burner. I lost 10 lbs my 1st 3 weeks. It's will really help lean you out.

You had some great results. I will be taking my Day 30 measurements and pictures on Tuesday next week before I do Core Cardio and Balance. I know that my inches are going down in my waist and poochy lower abs area, but I am not so sure about the weight. Then again, I don't really care about the scale. I would love to say "I weigh 120 pounds" but because I am gaining so much lean muscle I don't think that will happen for a while. emoticon It's inches and body fat that I am mostly focused on!

I did a couple of rounds of P90X before doing Insanity. I have been with Beachbody since February 2007, and I even won the monthly contest back in March '08...that was actually because I had such great success with the X. Tomorrow is my last day of month 1 before recovery week, and I can honestly say that Plyo X is EASY compared to Insanity ANYTHING. emoticon

Depending on how my measurements come out, I might be starting a new thread in this forum next week. emoticon I have improved on the Fit Test A LOT...so far, my Switch Kicks alone went up from 135 on Day 1 to 143 on Day 15. I'm looking forward to seeing just where I will be at the end of this 60 days!

Dacia, I read some of your other threads and you've done an awesome job. Way to go on the switch kicks and improving all your numbers. I loved Insanity and am continuing it during my next round of P90X which I start Monday. I'm basically replacing P90X carido days with Insanity. I am really looking forward to Monday. Way to go girl, you look awesome. The 1st week on Month 2 it tough but then you'll kill the next few weeks. Remember, dig deeper. Level 3 drills only sound hard. You can do it.

Hi guys,
Thanks for the future insight on my workouts with implementing P90X with Insanity. I'm currently wrapping up my 4th week on Insanity, I amazed myself with my second Fit Test results!! I am looking forward to getting to P90X afterwards, it seems to be more up my alley in getting fit but with the Insanity workouts there's no fooling around... it's hardcore!

I look forward to the challenge of Month 2 and seeing the hard work come together, not that I don't see slight improvements now... I'm excited to work hard and literally sweat hard to get there! I still get out of breathe about half way through the workouts and I get down on myself for that but I just shake it off and jump back in when I can.

Around Week 3 I started to experience neck pain, like when you sleep funny and it hurts for a few days and you can't turn your head, it's subsided quite a bit but still have issues at times, do you think the Insanity workouts could be causing my discomfort? Nothing else has changed in my life except working out. I'm looking into get some new cross trainers, any particular brand I should be looking at that has good shock absorption?

The caloric intake hasn't been as difficult as I thought it would be, I always ate healthy just a little bit more that the suggested 300 calories per meal. I am constantly hungary and am thankful for Meals 2 and 4 to round out my appetite. I'm usually hungary right before I go to bed (3 hours after dinner), do any of you have any suggestions for a healthy, low fat mini-snack?

Thanks.
Max

Hi, I restarted the Insanity workout again. Ending second week. First time I started it, I was only into my third week when I was rear ended on a highway. It put my down with my workouts for about three weeks. So, here I am again, starting all over. I see what great results coachladdyboy has achieved. I'm wanting to see them in myself. I will get back with my improvements.emoticon

Max, 1st super job for doing Insanity. It's no joke. For the neck pain I wouldn't think it's Insanity. Try your pillows. I was using 2 pillows and then went to 1 until the pain went away.
If you are constantly hungry you need to increase your calories. Insanity take a lot of energy. Start by going up in small amounts. say around 100. Let me know how this works for you.
For a light evening sack stick with wet carbs instead of dry. Fruits and Veggies. I like a peach or an apple to curb that hunger.

Hey awesome job coachladdyboy! I am starting month 2 tomorrow and I feel a little nervous about that but then again I was nervous when I first started day 1. I am hopeing to get similar results like you have. Did you do Insanity only or did you add some P90X in there too? I am just doing the program like it was made but I sure miss the weights. I am looking forward to finishing Insanity and starting another round of P90X possibly with Insanity mixed in. Great job!

Anthony, Thanks so much.
I was a little nervous about month 2 also but like you said, it's just like month 1, it gets easier.
I just did Insanity. As a matter of fact I even cut my running from about 60 miles a month to like 20. I am starting a P90X-Insanity Hybrid Monday. Here's what it looks like. I can email you the entire program if you like it.

Thanks for posting your plans for Phase 1 of your next round! I am starting my recovery week for Insanity (reluctantly...cause I wanna work and lose more fat, and even though I KNOW I will be...well, you know, it's a mental *thing*) but this week I am going to be planning out my next round. This gives me some ideas. I had already decided to combine P90X and Insanity...I like have you have the ARX on cardio days. That works better for me than the resistance days and I am sure it will be part of my plan. emoticon

My Day 30 is Tuesday...I am looking forward to seeing those inches (and possibly pounds) drop! emoticon

Cool beans...yeah, my thinking was resistance days are about an hour and if I stick to month 1 workouts on cardio days and add ab ripper x then those days will be about an hour also. I really don't have much more time than that in the morning. 5am come pretty early.
You know, for me personally, I think month 1 did more than month 2 but then again I did screw around with my diet in month 2...hmmm, get me thinking. You know, I kinda miss Shaun T yelling at me everyday and I miss Tony's goffy jokes. Now I'll get them both.
Keep Diggin Deeper.

Thanks coachladdyboy for your suggestions, much appreciated. I will bump up my caloric intake by 100 calories, happy about that since I love to eat!

About the pillow situation, I have a Tempurpedic pillow, it's a few years old, so I'm wondering if I should be getting a new one??

Last day for letting the neck rest, back to the old grind tomorrow! Can't wait! I miss the days when I don't work out, anyone feel the same way?

Maxine, yeah, give that a try. I had to up my calories quite a bit with Insanity. I'm doing a P90X-Insanity Hybrid starting tomorrow and am going up a little more.

I would try a new pillow. That's always why I get kricks in my neck.

Hey coachladdyboy I did the first day of month 2 Max Interval Circuit and boy did Insanity step it up a notch. It wore me out. Between that and the Fit Test I burned almost 1200 calories. I can tell that month 2 is where the results are going to come from. Please email the hybrid program you made. It sounds exactly what I want to do after I finish Insanity. wolfsridge@hughes.net

Thanks,

Anthony

Wow, 1200 calories. That what some people eat in a day. Way to go. I emailed it to you. You can move things around a little to you liking. I have very few Month 2 workouts from Insanity because my goal is to keep my workouts about an hour a day.

Let me know what you think.

I'm just starting, but it is possible that your neck pain is due to the jumps. Sounds crazy at first but check this out, I have to watch myself when I do the jumps right now because I notice I am stressing my neck out. I will try so hard to jump high that I tense up my neck more than my legs or abs sometimes. That very well might be what you are doing too. If so, just really pay attention to the way you are jumping. I hope that made sense!
