Beginner or experienced - everyone is welcome to join me in posting here. If you have begun your round of ChaLEAN Extreme and have not found a home, I hope you find it here.

I have had tremendous results lifting weights and am thrilled to be getting back at it after a break. When I lift as heavy as I can, I feel tight, energized and empowered. My metabolism speeds up. I feel like I can literally feel my body composition changing as it loses the fat and adds the muscle.

I like to keep tricking my body with new stuff and have just purchased new Beachbody dvds that I may throw in the mix since CEX is a five day program. Please feel free to do that too.

Let's motivate and keep each other accountable together.

I am actually starting my first official round of ChaLean Extreme tomorrow. I have a problem with getting bored easily and move off track. But I have convinced myself to stick with it this time. Im alternating the cardio parts though (one week burn intervals & burn it off and the next lean intervals & fat burn challenge, and so forth) I also might add a Turbo Jam workout in there once a week. My goal is to lose the last 15 pounds, tone up, and get a flat stomach. How did you do on your first round of CEX? ... Anyways I am in! =)

Welcome. I'm glad you are joining me.

I felt great when I was doing CE. Unfortunately, I never took pictures. I got it for Christmas, went on vacation, ate a lot, and did not take a before picture before I started last January. I have a slight tendency to not finish strong in the 90 day programs too. I think mixing it up will help. I have those exta workouts too and want to add them and a different trainer every once in awhile.

I am also going to try to workout before work. I have never been able to do this in the past. But since I know the program, I might be more mentally prepared. I was on a live chat with Chalene and she mentioned she does weights in the am and cardio later in the day. She says it just revs up your metabolism all day.

Thanks Kathy. I find it hard as well to stick to a 90 day program, but maybe together we can motivate eachother. I used to work out in the morning but by the time I would get home from work I would be exhausted. But who knows maybe I will give it a try. I feel so empowered when I do ChaLean Extreme! =) Ive never done official before/after pictures, I think when I get to my goal I will have tons of AFTER pictures and use random photos from time past as my before photos.

I'll join you. I just completed my first week! I'm loving it. I really like Chalene. I have never lifted slow & heavy before. I'm hoping for some good results. I just finished the 60 day Insanity rotation, so I'm ready for the dumbells!

Hi Kathy! You look fantastic!!! I'm on week 3 of my second round of CLX. I just ordered the 4 new workouts....can't wait to use them in the rotation!

Miss Meg - I have the other extra dvd's too...and like you I've been alternating them with the other cardio every other week. Normally, on Day 2, I don't take a rest day and do cardio and abs instead. This past week I pulled something in my abs so stopped doing any extra ab workouts for the rest of the week. I'm feeling good now though, so on Tuesday I'll be doing Burn it Off & Ab Burner. I'm also switching things up on Day 4 by doing One on One Fountain of Youth and moving Burn Intervals & abs to Sat. I got great results on CLX during my first round and the key was lifting heavy and eating clean. I need to get back on the eating clean train!! Let's motivate each other.

Hi everybody,

I just finished insanity 2 weeks ago, and I'm moving on to ChaLean. Did the first week and I loved it. I have been doing various cardio in the mornings and ChaLean in the evenings. I think I will do good as long as my eating stays clean. Eating is my BIG problem.

Hey Ladies! I think I am more excited about doing this program then I did when I first recieved it. I hope to actually stick with it! =) Im glad I found a great support team! Im not dieting or counting calories, just eating a whole lot better then I ever have since I was a kid! Im loving chocolate milk and a banana as my recovery. I own Insanity, just not a fan of it really. Rose how were your results with Insanity? Talk to you soon ladies =)

MissMegs: I was looking through my file of pictures and think I do have something that is close to the beginning and the end of my first round. I am working or organizing them better and need to get a program so I can post them side my side.

Anyone know of a good program for a pc user to invest in?

Maria: Welcome. Congratulations of finishing Insanity. Were you pleased with your results? I bet you will find the cardio days easier now. I did three weeks and left on vacation and never got restarted. I want to use them with this rotation too. I found Shaun very inspiring. His gracefulness awed me. Did you send away for your Insanity teeshirt?

Laura: Hi there. I can't believe you are already on week three of CE after finishing Insanity. You must not have taken any time off. You sure are a hard worker.

I can't wait to lift waits again too. Today my husband and I pp to Tony's One on One Plyo Legs. I loved it. It works those big muscles so very methodically.

Rose: Welcome. Congrats on finishing Insanity. I found it challenging to do such high intensity cardio day in and out. I should have just done it every other day and stuck with it. My eating has been off a lot too. I have been eating clean all day ending the day with a treat too often. Just tonight I called my husband from the store and asked if we need a treat and he said we have to wait til Friday night. Just what I needed to hear. I usually eat good all day. I bring a real healthy lunch to work and can keep eating well til after dinner. It has been awhile since I've logged my food on myfitnesspal to check my cals and grams.

MissMegs: I usually do better on my second round of doing the program. I really struggle the first time through mentally. I'm excited too.

I have made the following goals:

I will not eat any treats at work the whole school year - so far so good
I will only eat a dessert one night a week
I will drink all my water

Laura: Thanks for the compliment too. That stomach and thigh area - so tough. I'm not complaining cause I do treat myself. I am more of an arm gal especially since I get to show those more to the public. I want the fat off them and my muscles popping.

Kathy - I never finished Insanity. I got halfway through week 2 of Month 2 then went on vacation and got sick when I got home. At that point I just didn't have it in me to go back to it. I plan to add Insanity on cardio days during this round of CLX, but so far I haven't....maybe tomorrow.

Today was Burn 1, week 3. Went up on some weight again....I love feeling stronger. I need to drink my water so I stop snacking so much!!!

I started my first round of Chalean extreme on Oct 1... I want to join this team :-)

I will be done by Dec 29 (weigh in day) but today I will find out if I am one chosen to do a missionary trip to Ndola, Zambia and will leave on the 27th of december... please hold me accountable and that I will make that 90 days or earlier :-)Been struggle just doing a program on my own but I have now decided this is for me and will do it!

Hi Kathy!!!!

I just started round 2 of CEX this morning! It was nice to get back to the weights again. I just finished INSANITY last week. I finished the rotation, but man month 2 was tired and wore me out! I also plan to do CEX plus Insanity on cardio days. Tomorrow I am going to do Cardio Core and balance plus cardio abs since it's supposed to be a 'rest' day.

Those who are starting CEX for the first time are going to LOVE IT! It works wonders for the core and you've got to love the shorter workouts.

Kathy- Insanity was the best rotstion I ever did....so far! I had really been slacking in the cardio dept. for years. This made me feel so strong & athletic. It's given me the power to know I can really push myself. I didn't get the T-shirt because I'm not comfortable w/ my pics on the internet! LOL! I might decide to run for office some day & these could really haunt me!
Sunday I did Burn it off. I thought this was a tough little workout. It was short but the moves reminded a little of Insanity. Today Is Burn Circuit 1. I'm using 15 # dumbells which is good for me. I have been on the light weight high rep bandwagon for the past 1year or 2.I'm really surprised that I could start off as heavy as I did. I think all those pushups, in & out, ski abs moves from Insanity really helped my upper bod!

Just finished week 1 of ChaLean and heading into week 2. So far I love this workout. For weights I have been doing Cathe and this is such a change. With Cathe you can spend a hour doing chest and back, or a hour doing bi tri and shoulders. It is a real change to be done in less time and feel like I got a good workout.

I also loved Insanity. I was fine the 1st month, even though I thought I was getting my butt kicked. By the time I was into the 2d month I knew what it was to have my butt kicked.

OK a little about me. I'm 62 and have 11 grandkids. I have workout most of my life, but the past 2 years life got in the way. Now I'm 40 lbs heavier and I want my old body back.

Hi Kathy et al:

I'm Vicky, I'm 47 yo Preschool Teacher, Unit Secretary at a local hospital and single mother of two. I am also beginning my 2nd round of Chalean. Absolutely loved it the first time around (finished in May)and got good results and was considering a 2nd round of the X but I just love the strength and muscle I build with this program. I'm planning a 4 month rotation,actually beginning with the Lean phase, then Burn, Push and Lean again, beginnining last week and running as extra cardio. Think I'm going to delete the interval workouts this time...(running really leans me out) but will do Burn it Off and Fat Burn Challenge, as well as other cardio workouts.

So, good luck to all and looking forward to working it with you all.

Hi I just did my first day of chalean extreme and lets just say I tried to make it all the way. I got to the last 12 min and couldn't go any further. I want to do this more than anything but it's hard by myself. I'm looking for someone I can talk to about my highs and my lows.

Hi Everyone,

I just pp to Burn Circuil 1 day one. I am sooooo happy to be lifting weights again and Donna is so inspiring. I had a bad day at work and worked an extra 1.5 hours. Had to be squeaky in order to get some things taken care of, and I hate that. People should just do what they are supposed to do.

It sounds like everyone's workout went well.

Laura: I am surprised at myself. I cannot find my old CE workout sheets. I keep a notebook and everything. I know I'll find them. I also left work without printing new sheets. Congrats on go up on the weights. My husband joined me, so I had to share the weights. I may have used lower than if he was not there.

Sandra: Welcome. Did you hear whether you are going or not? How awesome if you go. What is the main focus of the mission trip? I never could finish a program before I found the threads either. We'll def. help.

Alison: So good to see you here. It sounds like lots of us are going to add some Insanity for cardio. I read an interesting post on fb by Mike French. They are on round 2 of Insanity and finding the first month just as challenging. He says it may be shorter, but the moves are just as hard and the intervals are longer than month two. I don't know since I've only viewed month two, but I felt better doing the 3 weeks I did after reading his comments.

Maria: Is it Maria or Maris? I have a tendency to be a big baby when it comes to cardio. Insanity sure was good for me (what I did of Insanity). I liked Pure Cardio the best too. Weights just make me feel so tight and strong.

Rose: I love you! I'm turning 50 in November and I just became an empty nester. I'm loving everything about this age (but I do do less on the weekends than I used to. I hope that is normal for my age). You sure look lean in your picture. Do you get to spend a lot of time with your grandchildren? That can be a workout in itself.

Vicky: Welcome. Another CE vet starting round 2. I love second rounds better than first rounds, cause we have confidence to know what works best for us like starting with the lean phase. Good for you. I have longed to be a runner, and did for awhile but I mostly run at a track (restrooms) which takes the fun out of it. I am an elementary school libraian (I should call myself a Media Asst but I refuse). What is funny is I like stimulating environments and looked into being a Unit Sec. before I took my job, but I did not have a medical background.

Tiffygirl: Welcome. We'll all help you. It is always hardest for me the first time through a workout. I'm afraid I'm just one of those people who like to know what is coming. And today was hard. So don't feel bad about stopping. Most people have never lifted slow like that before. It takes a lot out of you.

MissMegs: How did it go for you today?

Time for dinner: spinach, salmon and quionoa salad. I also have a lot of water to drink.

What time zone is everyone in? I'm in Oregon so Pacifc.

Kathy - as you know I am in California, 20 miles south of San Francisco by the ocean. So PST also.

I agree with Mike French on Insanity! Month 1 was actually more intense and my HR got up a lot higher. In ways it WAS harder. BUT i found Month 2 mentally harder because it was longer. I think I also just got burned out which didn't help so by the end I was really dragging. I actually really miss Insanity. It gave me a super high when I was in my energetic phase of it. I can't wait to do it again so will definitely be substituting CEX cardio with Insanity.

Rosa - I can't believe you are 62!! Wow - you look like you are in your 40's (like me) in your photo!

I am an old mother of two...ages 4 and 2. I started my family late and am determined to stay in shape so I can keep up with them...so far so good!

Now it's time to go and put them to bed!
