| RE: Nervous 10/26/09 8:38 AM as a reply to jpickett1968. Hi Jeff- you could continue to eat in the phase 2 level of nutrition, well into phase 3 of P90X rotation or for long-term use (post P90X). I do (have not ever gone into phase 3 of eating), I feel like it fuels me w/ the proper level of nutrients & portions of food. If you feel fine w/ phase 2 of nutrition, you don't have to progress onto phase 3. It is more about what works for your body, if you feel that you function better w/ a higher carb intake, than try it out. You can always add in another carb serving or two to initially try it out, or go back to your previous level of nutrition. I do fine w/ a lower intake of carbs, it allows me to feel more alert (drink less coffee) & perform/function better. But experiment and see what works for you, you definitely need to eat well & enough food to properly fuel your body during P90X.
Your body is adapting to these workouts, by phase 3, you should be completing more reps, adding in more resistance, form is excellent, & there are gains in stength, stamina & your body composition is improved. So your body is functioning at a higher level, all around, you may require more carbs to function at this level and to enable you to continue to make more progress in the next month. How do you feel post workout? Are you eating something post-recovery (with a higher carb to protein ratio)? Are you feeling sufficiently fueled duing the day? |
